Good Morning

  • I had to follow up from my last post with what Isaak said this morning.
  • Daddy doesn't like to get out of bed on Saturdays and Sundays; although he still gets up at a decent time.
  • Isaak said to Daddy when he got out of bed, "Daddy I'm awake! It's just that my puppy is still in bed sleeping."
  • The puppy Isaak was talking about looks like this:

  • The way he was talking, you'd think that it was a real dog.
  • Nope! It's a Ty original that Mica got when he was a baby. Somehow Isaak adopted it as "His."
  • Isaak calls it his, "Pound Puppy, Buster." He's not a Pound Puppy at all. His cousin's have Pound Puppies. I'm pretty sure that's where he got the Pound Puppy brand from. Isaak treats him like he's real puppy. ;)

Bedtime Excuses

  • Isaak's been trying to use excuses to get out of going to bed.
  • The last two nights we gave Zeek {Isaak's nickname} Motrin. He's been so stuffed up. He'd say, "Mommy I stuffed up!" He really was.
  • Tonight I heard some very creative excuses!
  • The top two were: "My chest has a headache!" and "My foot itches Mommy!" He said the last one four times.

Rain, Rain Go Away!

I'm sick of the rain. It's been cold here in Nebraska. Low 40's. YUCK! I want some sunshine!

I'm Dragging - Big Time

  • I started feeling like I couldn't swallow yesterday. I thought it was allergies, but nope. It's more then that.
  • Isaak woke up too many times to count last night. He kept saying that he couldn't breathe through his little nose. Finally when he woke up at 4 AM, I grabbed him and laid him down in our bed. Luckily he didn't squirm too much.
  • I think I've caught myself nodding off about 10 times this morning while at my desk. Not like me! I should have stayed home. We carpooled, so I can't just leave. That's the sucky thing about carpooling.
  • It will be a long day today. I have to come back to work tonight for Portfolio Review Night. Ugg! It's usually something I enjoy, but not today. Then I teach tomorrow.
  • I'm pretty sure we caught this from Aunt Terra. She's pregnant, and has been sick most of her pregnancy! I feel bad for her!

Giant Microbes Review

Spring is here! Along with spring, comes allergies! I have very bad outdoor allergies.
I was lucky enough to review a Giant Microbe, Hay Fever (Grass Pollen).

What I love about Giant Microbes:

  • I love that they come with a little tag that explains the Microbe!
  • They are super easy to wash!
  • They are made to look like the real thing, but blown up.
  • They are inexpensive. You can get their plushes for around $9.00.

Inside the tag it gives facts about Hay Fever {in this case}:
  • It's a seasonal allergic rhinitis, which in some people creates a reaction to grasses, weeds and trees! I've experienced red, itchy legs while pulling weeds. It's an allergic reaction to the grass or weeds.
  • Nearly one quarter of the population are sensitive to pollen particles.
  • A few things allergies can cause: Congestion, swelling, watery and itching eyes.
  • Other things allergy sufferers can get: Asthma, migraine headaches, eczema and depression.
  • Cutting your grass can help it from flowering.
Meet other summer plushes that Giant Microbes just came out with:

Ticks like to hang out in wooded areas.
Chagas have the nickname, "Kissing Bugs".

These plush's are more then cute! They are a teaching devise!

Mica and Isaak were really excited to get Giant Microbe Hay Fever (Grass Pollen) in the mail! We sat around and talked about allergies. Mica had to pose with his super hero costume on. He's saving us all from getting allergies. ;)

What is the best thing you can do when you or your kids gets an allergy flare up?
  • Get a lot of sleep.
  • Wash you or your kid's hair before bed.
  • Wash and change your pillow case often.
  • Flush your sinuses out with a sinus rinse.
  • Drink lots of water.
  • There are many over the counter medications, or talk to your doctor.
  • Rest and enjoy cuddling up with your Giant Microbe plush!
  • Putting your plush in the freezer kills bed bugs!

Wordless Wednesday - De Plane! De Plane!

The boy's got a Styrofoam plane from their second Easter egg hunt. They were all super excited!

Wrong way! He'll get it soon enough.

How did he get 2 of them?

This one got stuck up in the tree. We got it down.

Isaak woke up the night of Easter at 9 pm crying. I went in and said, "Isaak what's wrong?" Isaak replied, "I want to play with my plane!" Then I said, "Go back to bed sweet heart. It's past your bedtime!"

Captain Nerds

That's what Aunt Angela called our boy's; when she walked in and saw them dressed up in their superhero costumes. LOL Mica of course corrected her and said, "I'm Superhero Lightning and Isaak's Superhero Star."

They do look nerdish! But they love their superhero costumes. Grandma and Grandpa Apel gave them their capes for Christmas and the Easter Bunny brought them their masks and wrist guards. Mica kept telling me what each button does on his wrist guards {which they do nothing}. Isaak kept asking me to press his button's. I did and made sound effects. He thought that was oh so funny!

Baby Alex

My cousin Stacy just had a baby boy not too long ago. I was excited to see baby Alex again!

Any guesses as to who hogged him? Not me...Isaak! He love babies. I kind of wish I had my kids in opposite order. Mica's just not into babies as much as Isaak is. When I had Isaak, Mica pretty much wanted nothing to do with him.

He's even got the pat down!

Mica likes babies. He's just kind of a crazy, he rarely holds still.

Great Aunt Becky had a conversation with Alex. He's was bright eyed; looking like he was truly trying to talk back to her.

Coloring Eggs

I have to be honest, I haven't dyed Easter eggs since I was probably 10 years old. I really did not know what I was doing.

I let Aunt Terra help them with this since it was her that wanted to dye them anyhow. ;)

Isaak was more into this then Mica.

Easter Morning

It was so hard getting pictures of the boy's on Easter morning. They were so excited, and running around like crazy.

Mica was especially stoked. The only shots I got of him were with his head looking down on the ground for eggs and his backside.

Then we had another hunt at Great Aunt Sam's house. Thanks to Great Aunt Becky {Easter Bunny}.

Happy Easter Readers!

  • Last night the Easter Bunny was panicking a little just because it was 10 pm, and she was just starting to hide eggs.
  • In this case the Easter Bunny is a girl, and she was busy decorating Easter cookies for Sunday's extended family get together.
  • The Easter Bunny's side kick got home to help! :)
  • They hid stuff in the clean dishwasher, refrigerator, dryer, shower and outside. Silly Bunny!
  • Mica's favorite is the mask and wrist guards that the Easter Bunny left to go with his Super Hero Cape he got for Christmas.
  • Isaak's favorite is still yet to be determined. He's into opening and shutting the plastic eggs.
  • They both LOVE their umbrellas!
The Easter Bunny won this one from Kidorible. Isaak claimed this as his.
The Easter Bunny bought this one at Hatley. Mica claimed this as his.
  • Pictures will be coming! Most of them I got were of the kids walking {backs towards me}.
  • It was so fun watching them think about the clues to find the next set of eggs. The Easter Bunny puts a scavenger hunt together the last 2 years.
  • We're getting together with family {aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparets}.
