Cousin Emerson Turned 1 Year Old Today!

He loved his cake and ice cream!

I think Aunt Terra and everyone else liked the Super Hero romper I got for him. A few of Emerson's doctors showed up to his party. His Occupational Therapist gave him a walker toy. The walkers that they pretty much banned from most stores, Grandma Spiehs found Emerson one online. I understand why they were banned. Too many babies falling down steps. Emerson needs one to help strengthen the muscles in his legs. Aunt Terra only has one set of steps; there's a door to that set.

It's hard to catch Emerson looking up.

If you'd like to help out with Trisomy 18, the genetic condition Emerson has, the organization Soft is the place to go! The odds were against Emerson. Only 10% of babies with Trisomy 18 go on to live past their 1 year mark.

Oh how sweet! The romper looks adorable on Emerson!
I understand about the walkers too My oldest son about 25 years ago tipped his over the front when he was going from one carpet to another flooring. For him it was the metal devider they place on floors that got in his way of moving further so when he got angry (threw a hissy) and pushed, over it went. Luckily he was ok excpet for a busted lip!

My second child didn't have one due to us having stairs and because they were no longer to be found.

With my third she was given one from our neighbors who found one at Toys R Us and that was just about two years ago. She loved it but out grew it fast. At the time, we didn't have stairs and it seemed to have been made better too.

I remember seeing pictures of Emerson on your blog about a year ago. He looked very frail... but look at him now. He looks healthy.

So happy they liked the little outfit you got him.... it is really cute.
