The Headband That Made Him Cry

This story makes me laugh every time I think about it. Is it sad that I want to laugh at something my child was crying over?

Mica had last Thursday and Friday off for conferences. Then on Monday he had a snow day, so another day off of school. His Tuesday this week was like a Monday.  On top of that, throw in Day Light Savings time. The poor little guy was tired at the end of Tuesday.

We went to the Y last night. We wanted to go to Family Fitness because we missed last week. That's something we all enjoy. The boys run off energy.

Green headbands were being passed out. There were two different types. This is the one that was passed out on our side of the circle:

Mica for some reason was freaking out about not wanting to wear this "Girly" headband. He wanted to switch with someone; to get the other kind. I looked around, and everyone already had them on their heads. I said, "Sorry Mica you have to wear that one." He walked up and nearly snagged one off a little kid's head. Daddy snapped at him. Mica started crying. Daddy's like, "You don't just take things! What's the big deal? I have it on my head! Isaak has it on his head!"

I looked at Daddy and Isaak and thought, They do look girly with them on.  I didn't dare say anything. I wanted to laugh, while Daddy was serious, and Mica was crying. Mica tossed his headband on the ground and proceeded to pout. I got to wear two of them.

The lady in charge was nice enough to buy them. I was going to wear them.

Awww, that is definitely something that my 5 year old would have pulled. Only he would have thrown it and ran out of the room (and ended up on a time out in a corner somewhere). We have anger management issues over here lol.

I may sound like a horrible mom, but I laugh at my kids when they cry all the time. Allison had someone hack into one of her games and steal all her virtual clothes today. She sat downstairs crying while I couldn't help but laugh thinking about how silly it all sounded. 1- someone stealing virtual clothes, and 2, my daughter crying cause they took all the clothes and left the ugly ones lol.
