Have You Ever Slept Walked or Talked in Your Sleep?

The other night Isaak called for me, a worried call. I think it's because we've been trying to do away with him needing a light on in the hallway. Since it's light out when he goes to sleep, we're hoping that light satisfies him. Little man woke up. I went in to ask him what was bothering him? He didn't respond.

I took him potty. We usually take him potty somewhere between 10-11 to prevent accidents. He hasn't had an accident in forever it seems. BUT I do not know how to break the habit of waking him up to go. Any ideas welcomed. He really goes at that time.

I've been having him walk because he's getting so heavy, and it forces him to wake up. We have no problem with little man going back to sleep at the end of going potty.

He walked into the bathroom, over to the bathtub to pee. I said, "No buddy! Let's go here." I steered him back to the toilet.

This isn't the first time Isaak has slept walked. He's talked in his sleep to.

I to have slept walked. Not just as a child either. When I was little I walked over to my sister's backpack, blew my nose and said, "That's better!"

When I was in high school I argued with a friend about her steeling my sheet. Really it was right besides me. I dreamed I was talking to my friend's sister. She saw someone outside. I went outside to check out that things were ok, and came back in.

As an adult I don't think I've slept walked. I have talked in my sleep though. There were a few nights when I was breastfeeding where I told Travis AKA Daddy to do it. I wanted my supply up because I worked full time. Here I was telling Daddy to just breastfeed him. I had a dream I was a ware wolf and someone was chasing me with a silver bullet. I woke up growling. Then I had a dream I was a dinosaur. I was running from a volcano erupting. I woke up roaring like a dinosaur. Poor Travis AKA Daddy! I have scared him 1/2 to death a handful of times!

Oh boy! My oldest talks in his sleep every now and then, but he has never walked in his sleep - yet. I bet that is scary.

My husband is a sleep talker. Drives me nuts! I turned over last week and must have confused him in his sleep because he screamed really loudly HELP! My youngest came flying out of her room to see what the commotion was all about lol.

Several times he has woke up screaming thinking someone is standing over him. I tell him all the time if he is going to sit there and scream like a pansy, I don't know how he thinks he is going to protect us if someone breaks in in the middle of the night lol.

I don't talk in my sleep, I hum and sing. Not infrequently either. I have even tried to sleep-feed the Great Scot once or twice!

LOL... I can just see you waking up growling. So funny.

I don't think I sleep walk but my sister used to.

I have talked in my sleep before but it is usually when I am going through a rough time in my life.

My oldest still talks in his sleep but when he was young he also walked in his sleep. Before I knew he did this, the first time he came into our family room I was upset he had gotten out of bed for no reason at all. I asked him why and after answering (slowly) that he was using the rest room, I quickly realized he was sleep walking and tried to gear him back to his bed. Instead he turned towards the deck (2nd story) to use the bathroom there which of course scared me. At that time I didn't know you weren't supposed to wake a sleep walker so that's exactly what I did. I saw his eyes lose the glaze and turn into that of focus. It was so weird.

It can be genetic esp first generation, but I was told his was a vitamin deficiency, stress, sleep deprivation (he had hard time falling asleep) and possibly related to panic attacks that I wasn't aware of. Made sense though because his Dad, my ex, was hateful to him.

He outgrew the sleepwalking but from time to time I'm told he still talks in his sleep.

I know I did a few times as a kid. My son has night terrors and is really loud in his sleep...then doesn't remember. My brother used to sleep walk. I had him come in my room several times - once he got in bed with me and i just moved over...then he fell out of the bed...got up and asked me what he was doing in my room. :) He didn't ever remember...

I can totally relate. Although I don't sleep walk, I do sleep talk often. And sleep kick, sleep cry, sleep laugh. Thankfully my husband is pretty patient with me and just rolls over.
