Sing, Sing a Song Saturday

I started doing what I call Sing, Sing a Song Saturday.  I'm going to post one song on Saturdays that the boys or I like.

The song may be part of a movie, a kid's video or just a song we like. I'll try and include why we like it and/or the history of the song/singer.

I discovered the trio Daughter this week. It's funny because I was listening to Daughter, yet I have no daughters myself. I grew up with sisters though.

It's an English indie rock band originating from London in 2010. Originally the solo work of Elena Tonra, they are now a trio with the addition of guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella. They made their first full album If You Leave in 2013.

They help with a nonprofit called Yellow Bird Project. It's a Montreal-based organization called Yellow Bird Project. We work with an amazing range of indie rock musicians to create unique t-shirt designs that benefit an array of charities, each chosen by the musicians.

Anyhow I love their sound the trio Daughter!

Both of those are nice, they're contemplative, sort of melancholy a bit. I like them.

I like their music. The singer reminds me of Joni Mitchel.
