Sing, Sing a Song Saturday

Sing, Sing a Song Saturday is all about me discovering something that is different to post. I don't want to post things that you and I have more than likely heard before. I want to find something different. It could be from another country, someone singing from the streets of NY, and more.

I'm featuring Manchester Orchestra today. Have you ever heard of them? I have to be honest, I have heard of them, but I have never heard them.

They are an American indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band started in 2004. I lived in Pine Lake, Georgia, which is just outside Atlanta in 2001. Apparently I missed them.

The band's name is after the English city Manchester, which is where a lot of really good bands are from: The Smiths, Oasis and more.

They've been featured on  a lot of late night shows, and TV shows.

I picked them because I just love the video, and song Simple Math.

That "sound" is so much like the British bands from the early and mid sixties. Sounds like the "Birds".

That sound is a little hard for me. Perfect for my daughter. I'm going to ask her if she knows them.

I have never heard of the Manchester Orchestra. It kind of reminds me of hard rock.

This group is new to me but I like songs that really tell a story - so thanks for sharing. I like learning about new groups and different kinds of music and this one was great.

Happy St, Patrick's Day!

Well...I don't think I have ever heard of them before now. So, this was a nice introduction. Simple Math is my favorite pick of your song selections. I will definitely look at other tunes by this group. It's great to have you on the dance floor with the Monday's Music Moves Me crew. Happy St. Patty's Day! ;)

Simple Math is a great song with an interesting video. It's one of those that needs some deep thinking to figure out the not so hidden messages. "What if what I said was wrong?" But what a way to show it!
