A Trip to the Hardware Store

One thing that is true about me is that I'm a big kid at heart. I told my extended family about Mica dancing in front of the cameras at stores. One of them said, "Let me guess you didn't get after him? He should be told store manners. That's not something he should be doing." Blah, Blah, Blah.

Yes I did have a talk with him, but no I didn't think it was a big deal. It's not like he was screaming or crying in a store. I just feel like kids are only young once. We force them to grow up way to fast these days.

This weekend we Saved Big Money at Menards. Daddy and I split up because we both wanted different things.

I went to meet back up with them, and I walked into Isaak with a rain gutter on his arm:

My first thought was, Oh that one family member would not approve. Then when Daddy got a cell phone call I was thinking it was great that Mica and Isaak were keeping each other entertained in a way that really wasn't hurting anyone else. Let them be who they are, which is kids. As long as they weren't hurting anyone, or anything, so be it.

Mica looked like Popeye, and Isaak looked like he had a funky cast on. I'm pretty sure that's not the look Isaak was going for, but that's what he looked like.

Who said hardware stores can't be fun for kids?

Unless she was really noisy, disturbing other people or gonna destroy something, I wouldn't stop Lil Pumpkin from having some fun at the stores too! All harmless fun and you're right, they are only young once :)

Save big money at Menaaaaaaaaaaaaards. lol

Eek, I just took my son to the Y (you actually piqued my interest in the Y talking about it here) to sign up for swimming classes. He was being good sitting down while I filled out the form and when we were done I told him to look up at the TV. I did a dance by the door so he could see it on the TV. hahahhaa I guess I'm the one misbehaving. ;)

My boys could spend HOURS in Home Depot or Lowe's! They love that kind of stuff. And yup, Mica totally looked like Popeye!!

Oh heck, if it keeps them busy while you're doing what needs done then so be it. As long as they're not bothering anyone or damaging anything, what's the big deal. ;)

Kids will be kids. Not much you can do about it.

Now that's a fun idea!

I agree that kids are only young once and should have some innocent fun! My kids never enjoyed going to the Hardware stores though! They made faces everytime we said we were going.

it bothers me how society no longer gets the whole "let kids be kids" part of childhood

If I saw them goofing around, it would totally make me smile! Kids have the craziest imaginations, why not let them play if it isn't hurting anything?
