Happy Birthday Issak!

Dear Isaak,

You are 6 today!

So much has happened in 6 years.

The only way I could get you out of bed this morning is by telling you that you had to get dressed in order to open up one of your gifts. You like night time more than morning time. You never want to admit it when you are tired.

The Lego Movie is popular right now, so you got one of their smallest Lego sets. You love Legos, but are not great about following their directions just yet. You want every Lego set that Mica has, but the truth is, is that you'd rather just build your own creation instead of follow the kit's directions. I also got you a small Lego set that has instructions to make a cat, mouse and bunny. You love cats, so I thought that would be fun for you.

You love playing outside! In fact you are a great helper in the garden. You pick flowers for me, which is usually dandelions. I'm ok with you picking the yellow ones, that do not spread seeds everywhere. You love collecting worms, when we're busy making a garden bed. It's something I enjoyed doing as a child to.

You are sensitive to others feelings. You love to do things for others. Making creations is something you do everyday. Right now you're into making snowflakes; even if it is spring. You make something for your friends at school, and something to give to me often.

On the flip side of that you have a boy instinct to kick and hit when Mica messes with you. When you hit, or kick that's really the only thing you do to get in trouble. At school you must be pretty good. You've gotten all green (good) dots, except for 1 week around Christmas time. I think that's pretty good for being a boy, being 5, and in school all day long. Kids are forced to grow up fast these days.

That 1 week of getting in trouble at school we noticed was from not getting attention at home. Daddy was sick, and Mommy spent 1 whole day decorating cookies at Grandma's house.

You are the type of person that needs attention. Mica is the type of person that likes alone time. You beg for Mica to play with you, and Mica begs for you to leave him alone.

I've always said that you have a sweet and spicy personality.

Kids at school like you. You are much more outgoing than Daddy, or I were when we were younger.

You are a wonderful worker, a little helper, like to cuddle, pay attention to details, a creationist, a great eater, and a wonderful newbie reader.

You claim you don't like cake, so we're celebrating with brownies tonight.

I Love You!

Mom
