Jiva USDA Organic Split Moong Beans Green 2 Pound Review

This time of year it seems like we eat soup a lot. It's easy, and it tastes good!

I got Jiva USDA Organic Split Moong Beans Green 2 Pound to review. A $9.99 value.

Split Moong Beans are from the highest quality, organic Moong available. This is a very common Indian lentil, and is also known as Moong Chilka or Moong Split.

Moong is of very high purity, and is non irradiated or ETO treated and is grown in certified organic farms in India. There is no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Beans have excellent health benefits and are commonly used in the Northern part of India.

It contains no cholesterol, and very little fat. It's a healthy addition to those on a diet. It's full of protein and fiber.

I decided to make a soup with some of my Slit Moong Beans. I made Spinach and Moong Beans Curry Soup.

It was a hit with Dad and I. The kiddos didn't like it as much. They're not big fans of Indian food all together. The adults love all of it. We have a rule in our house: You have to try new foods once. If you don't like it, I won't make you eat it again. We don't throw food away. I do like this rule. It has made our kids open minded with food.

I served it with rice, in the end I dumped the rice into the soup, and ate it all together. It was great that way!

Do you have any favorite Indian dishes?

This is the first time I have ever heard of these beans, but they sound perfect in soup!

I have not tried to cook with these. But I do like Indian food. I don't know the names, but I like the eggplant dishes and the lentil dishes. And of course, the flatbreads!
