Shrek the Musical @RoseTheaterCo Review

Recently I just did held a giveaway for Shrek the Musical. This weekend my family got a chance to see it.

I thought it was really funny! I loved looking over to see Travis laughing throughout the musical.

All photos without my blog's logo belong to: MTI. MTIShows.com
When we got there the stage was open. I was so happy to see the set design. Isaak in particular was interested in how they got the fog look. I explained what dry ice is. I personally liked the tops of the trees and clouds.

Before the show officially started Shrek (Played By: Robby Stone) got on stage, and started cracking jokes with the audience. It's great when shows can grab the audience's attention before the show begins.

About Shrek the Musical:

Everyone’s favorite ornery ogre is bound to capture my families attention. If you loved Shrek the movie, you'll laugh at Shrek the Musical.

It features lovely damsel-not-so-distressed, Fiona (Played By: Lauren Krupski)

I loved when they had the child Fiona, the teen Fiona, and the adult Fiona all in one scene showing her growing up in the castle.

The “noble steed,” Donkey (Played By: Nik Whitcomb)

This was Travis' favorite character. He's just so full of personality.

The very short and villainous Lord Farquaad (Played By: Brian Guehring)

We had a giggle because Lord Farquaad came out on stage very short. He was on a chair, with his clothing over it.

A powerful dragon (Played By: Sue Gillespie Booton)

The dragon had the best voice in my opinion.

And a cast of classic storybook characters (Too Many to Name)

They challenge Shrek to become an unlikely and reluctant hero. This fractured fairytale farce will leave you with a song in your heart and lots of giggles in your guts!

All the production and artistic credits can be seen on their website. Just some to mention that did a great job are: Director: Fran Sillau, Assistant Director: Joey Galda, Choreographer: Sue Booton and Musical Director: Jerry Brabec.

I love that this is a show for boys and girls to enjoy. The show is best for ages 5 and up. It's 75 minutes long.

The boys certainly enjoyed themselves!

We saw this one 2 winters ago and thought it was hilarious! Jason got stuck behind a huge pole though and was only able to see 1/2 the show lol. It was still a good time, even with that little incident.
