Random Tid Bits

  1. I've been asked the same question by someone at work 5 times over again. I keep thinking, Are you losing it?, Are you impatient?, Are you reverting back to your childhood years?, or Are you bored? Of course I just answer the same question the same way I did all the other times I was asked it.

Open ended sales questions: you dont say

  2. The students and I just want to be done for the school year! My first year students are ahead. I just notice they have checked out. They worked hard, and should be able to check out. Of course I can't just let them be gone. It's a struggle.

  3. I keep getting really distracted. Do this, oh gotta do that, left that half done, gotta go back to that. Possibly it's because it's the end of the year, or it could be that I'm trying to do 3 full time jobs: My job, being a parent/wife/housekeeper, and looking for jobs.

  4. May birthdays are at my house. I'm not at all thrilled with the idea. I just don't like to entertain when I'm really busy, which is all the time. Ha!

  5. I wrapped the May birthday presents up. It took me one gift to realize it was in Christmas paper. All I could see where doughnuts.

#cachealaska Baseball Hat Reveiw

I love hats, just not on me. I have a super skinny head. I feel like they look good on most everyone else though. Are you a hat person?

I got #cachealaska Baseball Hat to review. It looks wonderful on Travis and Mica. Not so wonderful on me, or Isaak. It's our skinny heads I tell ya!

It's a stylish #flatbrimhat #alaskastyle that is meant for the outdoors. Get out and do something! I think it has a trendy look to it. I could see skateboarders loving this hat. Quite possibly I've been working at an art school for too long to know what skateboarders like to wear. It's also just a hip, cool hat!

About CacheAlaska Baseball Hat:

  • It's a flat brim hat
  • It has a lot of shade for outdoors
  • It’s unisex
  • The material 100% cotton
  • Spot clean only
  • It's easy to adjust

Ten Awards!

I do feel bad that Mica had an award ceremony, and neither Travis or I could go. Travis' work has had one less employee because he was away in the Philippines for a month. It's a really busy time for me with finals coming up! I can't just skip my own class.

His school takes 20 minutes to get to from our house, which means a good 30 minutes from our work(s).

I explained that he's had many other events that we have gone to, and that we may have to skip some of Isaak's events in the future as well.

It drives me nuts that schools put events right smack in the middle of the day. I know teachers don't want to stay later, but it's hard to leave work at times.

As it turned out Mica got THE MOST AWARDS in the entire sixth grade class! That made me feel even more guilty about not being able to go.

He got not 1, but 10 awards!
  1. Outstanding achievement in computer applications
  2. Student of the week
  3. Outstanding achievement in music (band)
  4. Metropolitan science and engineering fair participant
  5. Science academic excellence
  6. Geography bee contestant
  7. Renaissance silver 8 social studies academic excellence
  8. Mathematics
  9. Academic excellence
  10. Science fair excellence
My goofy response to not being able to go was, “Well you just have to stop winning so many things Mica.” He knows I’m kidding.

It's funny getting texts from Mica - age 12.

I never heard of not being called into the office at school as, "Referral Free".

Here's the prize bands he got:
