Savory Scone Recipe

My boys have always loved my Cranberry Scone Recipe. It's a healthier recipe than most.

This morning I made a new kind of Scone. I always thought scones had to be sweet. Not true! They can be savory too.

I usually make a double batch of the Cranberry Scone Recipe. I like to make a lot during the weekends, so it will last for a few breakfasts during the weekdays. I do the same thing with other meals. Today I made one batch of the Cranberry Scone Recipe, and one batch of the Savory Scone Recipe.

I got the recipe from King Arthur Flour. The recipe is below. There are a few things I edited: I didn't have green onions, so I chopped 1/2 a white onion to put into it. Green onions sure do sound good, but the scone I made was delicious. I included both as options in the recipe I typed up. I didn't have any heavy whipping cream, and used plain Greek Yogurt with a bit of 2% milk. It worked great! It's healthier too!

I love savory scones. So good for breakfast. I have a cheddar basil one that I make often. I'm going to try yours soon. Looks so good and I like your healthier alternatives to the original recipe.

That look pretty good. My daughter says presentation is a big part of making nice meals, and you have it down pat.

I usually have bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, and biscuits with red eye gravy. If I feel like cleaning up the mess afterwards, anyway.

I like them savory or sweet. Scones are delicious just about any way you can get them. :)
