We went there last year just for a Staycation. It was fun to compare pictures of how the boys have grown. Mostly they are the same. Isaak's grown taller and he lost his floppy hair. Mica's grown taller and learned a lot from Kindergarten to first grade.
Here's Isaak 1 year ago when he was 3:
Here's Isaak now {no more floppy hair}:
Here's Mica last year when he was almost 6.
Can you believe Mica picked the same horse? Here's Mica now:
What was really sad was comparing the Platte River from last year to this year! These are pictures from the Walter Scott Jr. Observation Tower. It stands 70 feet in the air.
Here's my view from the tower last year; when we had too much rain:
Here's my view from the tower this year; we need rain in the worst way:
The boys are growing like weeds aren't they.
ReplyDeleteMy Hubs was going to go to Canada fishing but the waterways are so low he decided to stay home.
The boys look so much older! Kids change so much that we don't always notice it but when you look back at photos it sure shows. Isaak doesn't look like a little one any more. That's pretty cool that Mica got to ride the same horse. He must have liked that.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun place! Great to see how they've grown!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog title! We need rain in the worst way, too. I guess most of us do. You have very cute children. :)
ReplyDeleteYour river shots are amazing. I posted a photo yesterday of the Platte I took last May. Probably not the same part of the river and I have no way of knowing how low it was in May when I took my shot. But, what a difference in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI live in a riverfront town and see the Missouri river almost every day so I know our river is also down but I'm thankful it does not look like you photo of the Platte.
Alissa, sorry I had not seen your comment to my photo of the Platte when I wrote the above. I can now understand your remark about seeing water.
ReplyDeleteWe had a huge storm Saturday night with 3 inches and it has been raining here since about 8pm tonight. Hopefully, things here will now get better and I'm praying the rain will come your way. The drought is all I keep hearing when I talk to my sister.
Isn't it amazing what a difference a year can make? Neat that you have photos to compare.
ReplyDeleteNice comparisons! There is a lake near us that seems very low (my first year) - I've been taking photos to use to compare with future years. It's amazing how much it can change from year to year.
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great comparison shot. This drought sure is taking a toll. B
Cute pony riding pics!
ReplyDeleteGood comparison shots of the river. The drought has been devastating.
I hope you are getting some rain soon! We are supposed to get some today. YAY! (I hope the weather people are correct!)
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos ~ Cute dudes! ~ No controlling for the weather ~ Hot and dry most places ~ (A Creative Harbor)
ReplyDeleteSo scary to see that water situation! I heard on the news that some weather scientists expect this heat (hottest July ever recorded in the US) to be the "norm" from now on. I hope not. Great images of your kids!
ReplyDeleteOh MY! Hope it rains soon! That is quite a comparison.
ReplyDeletewow, they have grown so much!
ReplyDeletethat river makes me sad being so dry.......
