Mica was talking about how he was going to make rocket shoes at school. He was super excited.
One day he came home, and looked sad. I asked him, "What's the problem?"
He said, "Well I found out that we're really not making rocket shoes. We're just colored shoes in, and writing about them. I wanted to actually make them!"
I thought about buying a pair on converse, or Keds and painting rockets on their for him. Daddy told me not to. Daddy said, "He wants his shoes to be actual rockets. He'll be disappointed with painted ones to."
Mica came home with his drawing and writing yesterday.
This is what he wrote:
"Welcome to my rocket shoes! They have fins and rockets. They are gray
because when it is hot my shoes get hot and I love it at the end of the
day when I take them off it takes the heat out."
I like his thinking! Rocket shoes would be such a blast if they were really real!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, he must have been so disappointed.
ReplyDeletehow fun that would be? but then again, I would probably fall on my face a few times. smiles.
ReplyDeleteHe has such a great imagination! How about building one to look exactly like his drawing? I'm sure with his imagination he can derive lots of fun from it!

ReplyDeleteRocket Shoes. You should have heard on of my daughter's invention back in 4th grade: A Spy Wig. {ya, use your imagination --- something along the lines of "Get Smart", that 60 sitcom. ya.} LOL
Real rocket shoes sure would be fun.
