Annoying

We switched health insurance. Our monthly bill was going to go up $200 a month. It was already high. The Insurance company we were using was battling it out with a hospital that has too high of rates.

I'm like: I'm done. I don't want to pay more, and what if we have an emergency and have to use that hospital they are at war with?
Which has happened by the way! When Mica had a staph infection in his neck there were no bed at Children's hospital, so we had no choice, but to go to Bergan. Children's hospital was loaded with kids that had RSV. Their beds were full.

We filled for new insurance, and we were accepted. As of Jan. 1 we've been on Coventry. It's not as great as Blue Cross, but they aren't going through a war with a hospital either, and their rates were better for us.

Guess what? I don't have insurance cards. None have been sent to me. Oh I made my payment. I had to pay for the boy's Tamiful out of pocket. If we get sick, or have to go to the emergency room I have nothing to show them except for a letter of acceptance.

Yes they have our address right.

When I've called to ask why I haven't gotten our cards they don't know why. They see I've made my payment, but can't see our policy number.

Yep I pretty much want to scream!

  1. That must be so frustrating. We are on a federal plan, so I think we have a decent one.

  2. Our insurance sucks. I pray nothing major happens to us or we are going to go into major medical debt because we aren't covered for much.

  3. We have had some insurance changes for the worse as well in the past two years. Very frustrating.

  4. I hate when things like this go wrong. I'd def. keep on them until it's resolved. Good luck to you!

  5. Argh the least thing you want when you're sick and need medical attention is more frustration. I hope they get it sorted out. Can't be that difficult to print new cards, right??

  7. That stinks! I know that we have had issues too. Can you get them to email you your card (to have on hand until a physical card can be mailed to you?)

  8. We have horrible health insurance. Even the ones that used to be good, aren't so good anymore.

  9. I am lucky we have a good health insurance, but we do pay for it and 10% of tests and surgeries and co-pays. I am worried about when the time comes for my kids to have to get their own insurance. It will be hard for them to afford it.
