Last week we went to the boy's school to look at their artwork.
In Mica's class they did an image of someone that was a Civil Rights leader.
I thought it was funny because one of his classmates did a portrait of Michael Jackson. Not exactly a leader in Civil Rights per say.
Mica chose Thurgood Marshall. He was an Associate Justice of the United States
Supreme Court, serving from October 1967 until October 1991. Marshall
was the Court's 96th justice and its first African-American justice.
I'm assuming he used this as his reference:
The skin color was pretty off. If he used the reference above that explains that.
In Isaak's class they did an image of a profession they'd love to be in.
Isaak chose a barber. He loves to "do" my hair. He sprays it with water, so much so that water runs down my neck. He brushes it, has me put it up, and brushes it some more, while it's up. It hurts, but is funny to.
When I first saw the image I was like, Oh no is that a bomb, or a knife? Nope it's the barber's comb. :)

The skin color was off, but who cares? It's how he perceives it and he ROCKED it. He did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteHe has a great imagination as well as good at drawing :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a sketchtastic week :-)

I think both of them did very good! They have your artistic genes for sure :)
ReplyDeleteImpressive work on both counts. And I'd have to agree with you; Michael Jackson was not quit a leader in Civil Rights. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a great job he did!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work! Something to cherish for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor! Got a chuckle reading your post. Glad that wasn't a gun. My son used to brush my hair a lot, not so much anymore....I miss it. Great artwork by the boys!
ReplyDeleteI remember studying Marshall quite a bit when I took Poly Sci in college. His picture is excellent!
ReplyDeleteI have that Thurgood Marshall book with the same portrait on it. :)
ReplyDeleteBoth boys did a great job with their art!

Amusing art! Your boys are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThe boys are so lucky you guys are so involved in supporting them! Side note - you know you guys have both of them following in your footsteps with their artistic ability!
ReplyDeleteHe did great on his portrait, even with the skin tone a little off.
ReplyDeleteEven though it hurts, I like it when Allison plays with my hair. Reminds me of always doing my sisters hair when we were younger.
They both have been blessed with the gift/talent of art like you and your hubby.
ReplyDeleteThat picture actually does resemble the guy. I'm surprised he got it so close.
