They got bags, loads of coupons, and each got to pick out a book. One child picked out a book on slavery, while the other picked out a book on Martin Luther King Jr. They didn't even pick them out at the same time.
Mica (the older one) is more the reader out of the two. When Isaak hit his 10 hours, he said, "Well I guess I don't have to read any more all summer." Think again kid.
Mica would only smile goofy smiles. This is the best photo I could get of him.
As we were walking out there was a science guy in the parking lot showing kids how to make gigantic bubbles.
We do a couple of reading programs too. We have not finished any yet. Well, we could be done w/ B+N but haven't filled out their paperwork yet.

I'm currently reading an ARC of Code of Honor. It's children's writer, Alan Gratz's new book that is due to hit the shelves on August 25th. I'm loving this book. It might be a good one for your oldest.

That's cool that they picked out non fictional books as their prizes. Allison usually looks for one with a furry animal on the cover, no matter if it sounds good or not lol

Cool. Our local library has summer reading too, but the kids get invited to special show at the end, not a book. Love the bubble too.

ReplyDeleteOur library has a reading program, too, but we haven't been able to get up there so far. My kiddo reads at home, too, but I'd like to get her in on something like that.

ReplyDeleteThat bubble is huge! I think that is really cool that they picked out non-fiction books. GG loves books about space and the human body. I hope her library has something like those to offer for their reading rewards.

Wow, that's a big bubble! Yay to your boys for being a part of the reading program. Me and my 16 yoa son are signed up through our library. We have to read 5 books, then get coupons and other stuff.
