I know a lot of cities have Railroad Days. I really have to say that the one in Omaha and Council Bluffs rocks! It's $15 for a whole family to get in. That includes 5 stops to different museums, and transportation to all of them. We ran into a super nice lady that gave us a pass for our family to get in for free!
When we first walked in to Lauritzen Gardens they have an elaborate model train set up.
We walked all over Lauritzen Gardens. What can I say Isaak was going through a dramatic phase with getting his photo taken.
Isaak did love some craft time. This year I helped him make a train bandana. It was so much better than the train whistle that annoyed Travis the year before.
Lauritzen Gardens is so beautiful!
There's a tiny waterfall area. We live miles from a real one, so I'll take what I can get.
I love the tranquil spot though.

ReplyDeleteWe have a cool train museum in Ogden UT. It is in the old depot that was the hub of commerce in the early part of the 20th century. I'm glad they preserved it. Has a great atmosphere for kids / families and there is an awesome restaurant in there, too. Thanks for linking. You're my only one. sob sob. It's cool. It's my only second day. lol

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful place. My oldest son James would love that train set-up. We found a bunch of trains and track at a church fair for $20. It turns out the box of stuff is worth a couple of $100 at least!

ReplyDeleteThere's an old train you can ride from Blue Ridge, Ga up through the Smokey Mountains. It has viewing cars, and dining cars. Nice during the leaf season.
You're lucky, it looks like a great way to spend some time. I like the photo w/the reflection too, and your boys are getting so big!
