- I think it's really sexy that Prince Harry is walking away from his royal duties to honor his wife and mother. He has to do what's right, for his family. It's crazy that I could careless about the royal family any other time.

- My coworker helps me with Wall Critiques. Basically I took it on to critique student's wall spaces before they have a digital portfolio. I go over their work, their work habits, their personality traits that could enter their work more. I told her this year I want to give them each an artist's name to look up that reminds me of how they work. She gave me a handful of designer's names. I emailed her back saying, "I understand why you want me to add designer's names, but it's for Illustration class and I don't know how the student's designs will look. They just started Design and Layout class." She understood. I hope I didn't rub her the wrong way. I don't think I did.
- Travis has to go get a scope done soon of his throat. Long story short he had to get surgery on his esophagus when he was 19. Now when he eats he has trouble with his food going down. At first it was funny. He'd get hiccups. Now it's rather scary because it happens more than we'd rather. We wonder if he has scar tissue that's built up there. His parents have both had problems with that from different surgeries they've had.
I'm not looking forward to all the medical bills, but it's something that needs to be checked out! - Isaak had Strep Throat right before Christmas. That bill came in. $546 for the doctor and lab fees! With insurance it is $240.69. Medical bills are crazy high!
I just read an article where it costs more to have a baby than a woman can make in a month. It's been like that for awhile! - Isaak is in Art now, and he's loving it! I hope it's just as loved as the piano is for him.

Random Tid Bits
- We got our $5,000 medical bill a month ago for Mica's hernia that was fixed. That's with insurance. We called to see if we could get that bill to go down. With all my nose surgery stuff (another $5,000), the tumor on my forehead that came off it's just too much (another $1,000). In order to get medical help they had us file for medicaid. They need to see that we're denied before they can help us. What a crazy process! Fingers crossed that bill gets sliced down!
- Because of crappy medical bills I'm always terrified to go to the doctor. I'm due to see the ENT, due to see the Allergist, and due to see my woman doctor.
- I so wish we'd go back to the Little House on the Prairie days where they exchanged chicken eggs for medical care.
- I had a testing session for a "freelance" job. They tested me over Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. I was so nervous because I've never been a good test taker. On top of that I've used Excel before, but I didn't realize how extensive the program really is! Lots of formulas! Well I now get a little more what Excel is like.
All the creative programs I was tested over were multiple choice. I just do things, and don't pay close enough attention to what palettes are called.
Most of my studying went into Excel, which I hardly use.
I found out I did above average on the testing. In the interview I asked how much Excel is used, and they said they never use it. Crazy! They seemed to really like me. Apparently I'm too creative for that job. Their words not mine. BUT they have an opening for something they see me doing in a month. I'm ok with waiting. That would get me closer to the end of the school year. They have great pay, and benefits, which we so need! Health insurance for independent workers, or small works that can't afford health insurance for their employees is becoming non existent.
I had another interview with someone that wants to work with me. She does patterns for allergy/asthma safe bedding. She wants a freelancer that would work for her full time after some time. Hopes to a new chapter with work. - I posted some design/illustration images on instagram. A curator wanted me to post to their website a piece or two. They then post it to their instagram page. I would get exposer, and get to say that happened on my resume. After I posted the images to them, they emailed me to have me submit some work to possibly entered into their magazine. YAY!

Random Tid Bits
- It's getting down to the wire...semester wise. I imagine I'll be just as busy as I am now the rest of the year. It was a pretty good year overall. There's only about 3 students in 3 classes that were unmotivated, or problem like. That's WAY better then last year.
Guess what? I get last years class back again next year. I have them in 1st year, don't teach them in 2nd year, and get them back again in 3rd year. I've listened to the 2nd year teachers complain about them. Most of that class is very happy to get C's, they don't care about deadlines, are hardly here, and will be hard to place. I hope the class doesn't shut my workplace down! Seriously I could see the placement numbers being that low for the class that doesn't care.
Enough negativity, I'm happy with my student's this year! They are hard workers, happy, respectful, and get their work done! :) - Medical bills are flooding me. I'm feeling stressed about that. It's only going to get worse. My 3 allergy shots will not be covered by insurance. I begged for taking them every other week, but he said it's too dangerous. So far no reactions. They are diluted in the beginning. Part of me wants to say, "Come on shoot me up, so I feel it! I'm spending $$$$ on this!"
- I saw this doll in a store called Tuesday Morning. Do you have that store where you live? They have discount things in it. Certainly better than other discount stores. Anyhow it's an old man that speaks Spanish. Kind of odd. Ha!
- Mica's been oh so moody. I wonder if it's his age (puberty), or just that he doesn't feel well (allergies)? The boys don't have allergies allergies as bad as I do, but they have them.
- They've kind of dropped my past student's murder case in the news. He was the one that got murdered. I unfortunately was thinking it was drug related. :(
His case brings up the questions - Do you think some cases are dropped quickly because of where the situation happened (like a bad part of town), or the nature of the case (like drug, or prostitution related for example)?
While it is true that some people play with fire more than others. I still think every life is important. One person growing up on the streets could end up changing their life around.
A person I went to grad school with was like that. He was a drunk living on the street. He decided to turn his life around, went to college, and did so well he was valedictorian. His speech was amazing!
