Happy Mothers Day!

I'm not crazy about Mothers Day and Fathers Day. I've always felt like birthdays and Christmas are more than enough for gift giving. We do however celebrate the holidays.

Daddy doesn't get me anything for Mother's Day. I don't get him anything for Father's Day. We just go out to breakfast. Then Daddy or I get to choose a game to play, or movie to watch (depending on who's day it is).

I wanted chocolate pancakes this morning, but opted for a fruit cup and a cheeseless, veggie omelet. While we waited for our food we played a name game. We had to think of a name we liked for every letter of the alphabet. Letters Q, X, Y and P were the hardest. Then this evening we played Rumikub.

When asked if the boys made anything at school for Mother's Day? Mica said, "I started to, but never finished it." I said, "That's ok. I just want to be with you anyhow."

Isaak gave this to me:

I have twin Isaak's.

It says:

Mom
scole "school"
hoges "hugs"
nise "nice"
loves
likes
heps "helps"
wrse "works"
Love
Isaak

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I hope you got to do at least one special, out of the ordinary thing today!

Happy Mother's Day Today and Every Day!

Isaak must have had a long day at his birthday party. He was grouchy this morning. Mica showered me with an art piece he made and a poem. Isaak cried because he had nothing to give me. I reminded him that he gave me a lot two days ago. He insisted on giving my gifts right away; after he made them. I told him that he is all I need. He cried all the more.

I asked the boys to go get ready to go out to breakfast. I won a GC to I Hop from A Nut in a Nutshell. Isaak said, "Mom I don't want to go out to eat! I want you to make breakfast. I thought Mothers Day was all about you doing what I ask for you to do." Like I said he was grumpy.

Mica came out looking like this:

Fancy pinned striped hat, plaid shirt, too short of a tie for my long torso boy, gym shorts and socks with sandals.
I always think of Mica as a good dresser. That's probably because I get their clothes out the night; to help with our busy morning.

Mica changed. Isaak finally got ready, so we were off to I Hop.

We've been to I Hop before and it was just ok. This time we had a waitress that was in training. That could have been bad. NOPE she was great! She had that new employee, I want to do my best glow! Get this...Isaak ordered an omelet. He's never had one. He gobbled it up, plus had some of my food!

The best part of my day though was in the evening. I said, "Mica why don't you go to bed early. Don't go to sleep; just read for awhile." Mica said, "You are the BEST Mom ever!" He loves to read.

Happy Mothers Day!

I told Mica to go ahead and get dressed. Usually he picks out his shirt and I pick out his shorts or pants. This morning he got himself all read to go.

I cracked up because the boy does not match. He doesn't have to go to school. Part of me wants him to leave his clothes on. This way every time I look at him I can smile and/or laugh.

He handed me a letter this morning. It says:

Dear Mrs. Apel, {I have no clue why he put Mrs. Apel. He calls me, "Mom."}

I love you so much that your heart is makeing {making} fairy tales.

Love,

Mica

How sweet that is! He has a gift for me. I'm making him wait to give it to me when Daddy and Isaak roll out of bed.

Happy Mothers Day Mothers!

Mother's Day Event at Preschool

I joined in on the Mother's Day Event at Preschool today. They Call it a Mothers Day Tea, but there was no tea served. I guess it was a Mother's Day Coffee.

The kids did all these things for their moms, including me:
  • They made us muffins.
  • They sang us songs.
  • They painted flower pots for us. Then planted flowers in the pots.
  • They colored us cards.
We ate, we joined in in singing songs, we read mom related books. It was nice.

Here's my new flower pot. Isaak took the picture.

Here's my eclectic boy. Daddy said Isaak's tie didn't match. I said not matching is the style.

Isaak was so excited to see me at his preschool! I hardly ever get a chance to take or pick him up.  Working full-time has it's downfalls sometimes.
