High Plains, Nebraska

After Toadstool Park we went to a little town called High Plains, Nebraska.

There was a restaurant attached to many of their first buildings. They allow you to roam around and look in the old buildings, but there are signs saying, "Don't touch everywhere." The boys were running around all over, which made me nervous. Nothing bad happened, so we're all good!

The Blacksmith Shop
 Tools were everywhere!

The Basket Shop wasn't as impressive as the Blacksmith.

Don't mess with the Sheriff! At this point I was hoping to leave my kids in their jail.
This was one area they could touch. They did get to go in the jail.

The Kitchen had all kinds of stuff in there as well.

I wonder how much stamps were when this Post Office went up?

Of course they had the Mercantile. I often wonder why we don't call stores a Mercantile anymore? The Mercantile was filled with things you could buy. The odd thing for this city gal is that no one was working in there. They expected you to get what you wanted and go to the restaurant to pay for it. I wonder how much is stole from them? I told Daddy I wouldn't want to mess with them. They'd probably chase after us and put us in their old school jail.

Eathworks is where pottery was done.

The saloon. Again I don't know why the name became bar instead of saloon?

The Schoolhouse. It's just missing a bell.

They had a wagon as well.
