Scratch Off Map Review

The Perfect Gift:

It's that time of year where I'm busy getting holiday gifts.

I got a Scratch Off Map last year for my nephew Evan. This is a different brand, and I think my nephew Elijah will love it.

My nephews travel a lot because of Emerson. They go to a lot of conventions to help with Trisomy 18. They also travel to visit for medical help. Now they can both scratch off places they've been, and will go to.

Tube:

It comes in a tube. Everything is rolled up. It makes it great to ship, but a little hard to roll out to hang on the wall. Everything was protected with an extra thin paper.

Inside the tube is a map of the USA, another map of surrounding islands, a wrist band, a scratch tool, a cloth for cleaning the scratch tool, and a bag to keep some of those extras.

Scratch Tool:

I have to admit something kind of dumb of me...I thought the scratch tool was a keychain. I guess I thought that because it came with a wrist band as well. When I first posted on social media I said it didn't come with a scratch tool. It has one. :) I changed the social media posts. 

Wrist Band:

It says, "I haven't been everywhere."

Do you like maps? I like them artistically. There's an artist I follow that paints them with acrylics.

Scratch-Off Interactive World Map Review

Mica has always enjoyed maps. He knew his state capitols by the time he was four. I'm really happy to review a Scratch-Off Interactive World Map by Info-Glob.

Isaak on the other hand is more like me, geography isn't his thing. One thing that Isaak does love is scratchboard. Maybe this map is a way to get Isaak to like geography.

The map came in a tight roll. It was good because it was well protected, but hard to get it flattened out to review it. Travis reverse rolled it to get it flat. 

I love how they had a piece of tissue paper within the roll to protect it from getting unwanted scratches on it. 

Inside the tube is a scratchboard tool that can be used on the map + other scratchboard pieces. 

A compass came in the tube as well.

This set would be great for people that love to travel, have a bucket list to go places, an interest in maps, or love scratchboard. 

I think this going to be a family gift considering that Mica enjoys maps and Isaak gets into scratchboard. The gold is what can be scratched off. Mica scratched off a bit of Hawaii. I really like the quality of this print. It's fun scratching the gold foil off. I could see hanging it up as is too.

Art Time

• It was fun having Mica, Isaak, cousin's Evan and Elijah paint.

• Mica was very into mixing colors! He was painting a volcano. He kept saying, "Mommy what happens when I mix all these colors together?", "What do these two colors look like when they're mixed?" and "Why do these colors make brown?" He wasn't as pictorial as his cousin Evan who is 3 months older, but really interested into what he was doing!

• Isaak had a paintbrush in one hand and a crayon in the other throughout the majority of making his picture. He painted, and would color in the paint. His work of two year old art looked like a scratch board.

• Cousin Evan is really getting pictorial. He wants to paint or color something and makes it very representational to what he is after.

• Cousin Elijah used his fingers as much as the brush. I saw him paint his fingers then finger painted.
