Random Tid Bits

  1. I've been having trouble functioning this week. I say that, but I've gotten a lot done. I'm all ready for the fall for 2 classes. I mean all ready. I have everything printed!

    A) I'm just tired this week.

    • Students wore me out last week. Many that were not passing all the sudden cared, and wanted to do the work. It's crazy, I never thought it would happen, but they all passed. I've had more Cs and Ds than I think I've ever had though. That's not good.

    • I'm still trying to get used to getting up earlier. A new schedule is hard to get used to. We have to take our kids to my parent's house. In the summer it's not like we sleep in. The boys have gone to Travis' work a few days this week. One of those days they all had a dentist appointment at 7 AM. Camps will kick in, in a few weeks.

    • Male readers shut your ears - I'm PMSing. Uggg! It happens. I'm the type that is the I don't want to do anything PMSer. I'm not the type that gets emotional, or throws things. Sometimes I drop things, but that's my normal.

    • Isaak has his family party at our house. I hate hosting events! I decided - yep I just hate it. My house isn't huge. I'm not the best housekeeper. I work full time. It's hard to do it all. More people got magically invited. I don't want to deal with it.

    B) Asthma has been really a pain in the butt at about 8 PM each night this week. It's like clockwork. It's been really rainy here. Ever since I was little I feel allergies and asthma kick in when the weather is like that. It doesn't help that there were grass fires and a natural fire that all blew this way. I feel like I have fluid in my lungs, I all the sudden have a deep cough, and I could blow my nose every 5 minutes. I really could do without it!

  2. A coworker left the company a few days ago. I wasn't sad really. He's moving on to be a goat farmer: Selling goats milk, soap and other products. It's been in the works for awhile, so I had time to prepare myself. It's just quiet though. One worker will miss him more than I will. They both talked about the Bible a lot, and conservative politics. They'd try and convert me. I'm glad their religious circle is broken up. I'm there to work. I'm not there to bash on people because they don't think the same way I do.

  3. Mica and Isaak don't have camps set in for a few weeks. We hate hearing, "I'm bored!" so I worked on a curriculum for them. On Monday Mica left the curriculum at Travis' work. Travis went to get it, and left his work keys at our house. I was laughing because - that's where Mica gets his forgetfulness.

  4. I signed up the boys for the summer reading program at the library. There's prizes involved. Then I grabbed sheets at Barnes and Noble for the boys to complete that reading program.

  5. Just so I don't leave you pictureless I got new shoes. I can't just wear just any shoes. I have a weak left ankle. There's that. I found a brand I LOVE. Amazon had a special deal where these shoes were on sale and 1/2 off that. The Ahnu brand is not cheep, so I was happy to see the sale! They are waterproof, have excellent arches, and I love the companies values! What brand of shoes do you like? Reds is my favorite color, so without further ado:

I'm sooo Sleepish

Maybe it's because I fasted all day yesterday, maybe it's because it's the first week back for my students, maybe it's because every night this week has been go, go, go, maybe it's because we still do not have a working toilet, and I had to go to a gas station at 2:30 AM to go potty, or maybe it's because I can hear the wind howling through thick walls (we're under a wind advisory).

Maybe it's all the above.

It's crazy though, I'm not doing the work my husband is, and I'm tired. I feel like I don't have a right to say, "I'm tired!" I've been dealing with the kiddos in the evening though. Last night I took Mica to Jiu-Jitsu. I can't wait until they split the class up! They are doing that next month, but have talked about it for a year I think. The seats for parents are limited, and there is an obvious difference in their skills. See all the kids without their gi? They are all new. At the Y I helped Isaak take a shower, took a shower myself, and had Mica take a shower after he was done with Jiu-Jitsu. At that point we still didn't have running water at home. Now we have running water, but still no toilet. We have a plywood floor now, and a start of vinyl floor. I had to go back to where we got the flooring because one box we had was damaged.

This was going to be my blogging day, but somehow all I've manage to do was stare at a screen all afternoon. I can't recall much of what I've done past lunch.

All morning I looked up topics for the students to give speeches on. Sounds easy enough. My co-worker that is giving an assignment wanted a list of different contemporary designers for the students to look up. Coming up with the first 20 were easy. I spent the rest of the morning trying to get the rest to equal 31. I need ones that are active, and had enough information for the students to research. The teacher I did the favor for has proofread all my handouts, so I owed her one.

What about you? Are you sleepish today?

Saturday Night Was an Emotional Roller Coaster

This is what the boys are like if they go to bed super late the night before.

At dinner time, Mica: "Why do we get this when you get Pepper Jacks? No fair!" [Insert whiny voice.]

Me: "Because this is the other 1/2 of my meal from last night. You wouldn't like it anyhow. It has spicy peppers in it."

For the record I fed them chicken, broccoli, and cherries.

Isaak: "Mica's tried spicy things before Mom!"

Me: "Just eat!"

At bath time, They acted drunk. It took them FOREVER to do the littlest thing. If it weren't for them getting their faces painted earlier in the day, and being outside and sweaty, I so would have skipped bath time! It got to the point that I was just dumping the water over their heads at the end.

At bed time, They were quiet for half an hour. I thought they were sleeping.

Mica: "Mom you never fed us dinner! You are starving us!"

Mica started crying. Mica rarely cries. I knew he was only crying because he was so tired.

Isaak: "Mom I'm thirsty."

I wasn't about to get Isaak anything to drink. We stopped getting him up to go potty at 10 PM.

Where was Daddy when all these emotions went down? Why at a football game of course.

The next morning they were all smiles. The starving boy didn't even ask for breakfast.

I'm Tired

Today I didn't want to get out of bed! I went to bed kind of late. Then at 2 AM I heard Isaak yell out, "MOMMY I HAVE TO GO POTTY!" I'm so happy he told me. It's just that I was in a pretty deep sleep. Then he said with a whisper, "Mommy maybe I shouldn't flush. I don't want to wake up Daddy!" I said, "Isaak you need to flush. You already woke me up."

So I teach on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. By the time Wednesday afternoon rolls around, I'm ready for a nap!

Tonight I'm going to bed at 9:30 or 10, which is early for me. I have to get up early in the morning anyhow.

One last thing - Just a random funny thing Isaak said! There was a lady that was wearing a tie dyed shirt that looked kind of like this:

Isaak says in his outside voice, "Mommy there's a rainbow lady over there!" Then he pointed until I turned my head to look. Silly boy!

Grump!

Isaak did not take a nap today. He was such a major crab at dinner. Instead of taking our boys out to the YMCA for family night, Isaak went to bed. He was crying in bed saying, "I want to go to the YMCA!" He was so over tired. He went to sleep in five minutes, but woke up an hour later crying from a bad dream. Sometimes kids just need to crash! Bedtime was 6:15. I don't remember the last time he went down that early! Usually their bedtime is anywhere from 7:30 to 8.

Daddy and Mica headed over to the YMCA and played soccer, while on scooters. It Sounded like so much fun!

I Keep Messing Things Up

Do you ever have nights like that?

I attached my WW link to a Linky that was for Giveaways only.

Then I responded on FB to a person that was asking if a bunch of people live in India, "I don't like in India." When I meant to write, "I don't live in India." So there are probably some people that think I'm just an awful person right about now. I corrected myself and said, "I meant to say I don't live in India. I like India." Uggg!

There is a saying, "Don't drive when you are drunk or tired." I think this applies to typing to!

It's been a long day! Next week is midterm week, so I was having students turn in projects left and right today. Then I was reading and correcting student PowerPoints for presentations all day today.
