Techno Gears Marble Mania Dual Speedway 2.0 Review

My boys really loved reviewing: Techno Gears Marble Mania Dual Speedway 2.0. It isn't every day that they get things in the mail just for them.

Dual Speedway 2.0 is the child s creation of twisting and turning racing tracks. With dual launchers your kids can race against each other and see who crosses the finish line first. I do love that they have more than one track. It makes it fun for the kids to race.

There are more than 300 pieces that will create an exciting marble speedway. If your child likes to set things up like Legos or K'NEX building sets, they will love this toy. Part of the fun, and challenge in Mica's case was setting it up.

The toy is for ages 8 and up. Mica just turned 9. He's usually really good about setting Lego sets up, but something went wrong with this. It had to be disassembled, and reassembled with Daddy's help. In Mica's defense Isaak was pestering him the whole time he was setting it up. Isaak wanted to play with the track. Mica's concentration was lacking.

When Daddy helped, they had no trouble at all.

At this stage I asked Mica, "What size of batteries do you need?" Mica replied back saying, "Energizer will do." Not the reply I was needing. On the box it told me what size of batteries I needed. It requires two AA batteries and two button cell batteries.

The boys showing you how it works.

Mica insisted at the end of the video that they would shake hands. They shake hands in jiu-jitsu after any meet.

The bottom line:

The boys love this toy. I think they'll play with it for a long time. The racing factor is what makes it fun for them.

An older kid does need to set it up, but may loose interest in playing with it. Isaak who is 6 loved playing with it once it was together. Do not let kids that are really young play with this. They say under 3, but Isaak still put stuff in his mouth when he was 4.

You can get Techno Gears Marble Mania Dual Speedway 2.0 on Amazon for $59.99 and it's on sale for $46.18. This toy is compatible with all Techno Gears sets. Like always I'd like to get more of their sets to make this one more fun. They can work together, and be configured different ways.

To Run or Not to Run?

The boys were picking on each other and running around the house. I thought while we went out for an errand I'd take them to a track nearby to run off their energy.

We get there. Mica ran.

I ran. I don't have a photo of me. I don't think you'd want to see me running anyhow.

Isaak sat. He pouted about how I wouldn't stay with him. I told him to run with me. He would rather sit and pout.

He is the main reason why we were there in the first place. Mr. Isaak picks on Mica. Lately he's been telling Mica, "Mica kick me." Well last week Mica kicked Isaak. Then Isaak got a mark under his eye. They both got talked to. In some ways I don't blame Mica. I would never tell Mica that though. Isaak's kind of asking for it lately. They all go through stages.

Isaak's the type of kid that's hard to convince to do something he doesn't want to do. He didn't want to run, so he just sat there. He's not always going to be able to pick and choose what he wants to do.

When it was time to leave, Isaak wanted to just keep sitting there. I told the boys to come with me. Isaak sat and sat. Mica and I just walked off. Isaak went crazy crying and ran to us. So I did get him to run a little bit.

Thanksgiving

We drove 6 hours to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Apel. We also saw Aunt Laura and Cousin Payton.

The boys were pretty good in the car to and from. We did get the question, "Are we there yet?" and "When will we get there?" over and over again on the way Grandma and Grandpa Apel's. We drove both times at night. The only thing I hate about driving in the dark is that CD books are pretty much out. On the way back both boys slept, which was great!

If I was at home I would have kept the boys on the BRAT diet {banana, rice, apple sauce and toast} for a few days. They were sick with the tummy flu before they left. It was Mica that got sick first and Isaak followed. They acted just fine prior to leaving town. In fact they were hungry. I really thought they were on their upswing. The second night while out of town, Mica threw up all over their bedding and Isaak had a major poop explosion in the morning. It's been a long time since Isaak's had a poop explosion. He really hasn't had too many. Both of those situations were embarrassing and hard to clean up! 3 baths and 3 loads of laundry! YUCK! Isaak required 2 baths. We thought they were over their tummy issues. I honestly think that the combo of too much to eat, the type of food they ate after being sick (McDonalds on the way out of town really didn't help!) and lack of sleep didn't help either. The day after I fed them toast, applesauce and bananas.

They both showed some signs of being allergic to their cute kitten and cat. Unfortunately they get that from me! I'm the queen of allergies. I've taken many back prick tests that were off the charts. Mica acted allergic right away, while Isaak was more at the end of our visit. I do have to say that that kitten was CUTE!

Not all was sickness and wiping noses. The kids had a blast playing with their one and only cousin on that side. Payton is in the second grade.

Grandma Apel told Mica and Payton some great stories. Mica's still talking about them.

Daddy, Isaak, Mica, Payton and I went for a walk down to some train tracks. We also went for a drive to see Daddy's first house, school and second house, which no longer exists. The cabin he built with his Dad is still there.

Mica went back to Grandma and Grandpa's and drew this for Grandma Apel.

Mica, Payton, Grandma Apel, Daddy and I played ball outside. Isaak was napping.

We watched TV with Grandpa Apel. Grandpa Apel had knee replacement surgery. He gets his other knee replaced in a month. The surgeries sound and look painful!

The boys performed for us. They made sure we were sitting down. Mica did skits and magic tricks. Isaak followed up with singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and ABC's over and over again. Now he's singing Bah, Bah Black Sheep and 1, 2 Buckle My Shoe over and over again. He skips 5, 6 Pick up Sticks just about every time. Mica lets him know too. :)
