What You Need to Know About Peptides and Weight Loss

Trying to lose weight can be a challenge, and many people that find exercise and dieting to not work for them turn to other strategies. However, the health community is full of buzzwords and fads promising quick, effortless solutions, which makes the genuine options harder to find. One such strategy, popularized by entrepreneurs like Ryan Smith Lexington KY, is peptide supplements, and from the talk around them you'd think they were a miracle cure. What are peptides, though, and what do they do for weight loss?

Peptides: A Primer

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, much like smaller proteins—about 50 units at most, in contrast to proteins that are hundreds long. Many peptides come from breaking down proteins in food. Because of their size, peptides don't fold up into complex molecular shapes like proteins—this means they can be more easily distributed through the bloodstream and absorbed by cells. Also, many hormones are based on bioactive peptides because of this permeability.

Peptides to Look For

Despite this common structure, peptides differ in how they interact with the body. If you're looking for peptides to help with managing weight, you want supplements containing particular kinds of peptides:
  • Collagen is known as a component of skin and connective tissue, but it also helps curb excess hunger.
  • Creatine can aid metabolism in muscle cells to replenish energy stores; this can give you a boost when working out.
  • Ipamorelin signals the pituitary gland to produce human growth hormone, which stimulates cell regeneration.
Some peptides are still under experimentation to determine how they affect the body; an example is follistatin, which has shown correlation with regulating muscle growth in lab mice.

Are Peptides Enough?

Many swear by peptides in helping lose weight and stay in shape. However, be wary of claims that peptides are an end-all, be-all solution. Managing your health is an ongoing multi-step process that peptides can aid but not fully replace. Exercise, and eating a balanced diet really helps. Also, human bodies vary in how they respond to supplements, so try them out for a short time before committing.

SkinnyStix Review

I've never heard of SkinnyStix before. They taste wonderful, boost your energy level, improve your focus, and help satisfy your appetite!

I got a box of their different flavors, and a covered cup.

Flavors: Berry Fusion, Electric Lime, and Tangy Tangerine

I happen to like the Electric Lime and Tangy Tangerine best.

About:

The highly specialized, proprietary SkinnyStix formula offers powerful appetite control, mood elevation, increased energy, fat burning, stamina, and improved focus... plus SkinnyStix taste fantastic!

Zantrex-3 has managed to transform an intense, super- powerful weight-loss formula into a take-anywhere powder available in Electric Lime, Tangy Tangerine or Berry Fusion, so now it’s easier than ever to lose weight whether you’re at home, at the office, or on the go.

Little Stix:

I love that they come in little stix that contain the powder. This does make it easy to take it on the go. I've taken mine to work. That's the place where I feel a bit drained around 3:30.

Directions:

Adults mix the entire contents of 1 SkinnyStix packet in 16 fl. oz. of water, and drink. I found that the powder dissolved easily.

It helps to SkinnyStix 15 minutes before you eat. Your tummy tends to feel full faster at meal time.

You can drink up to 3 a day.

It contains all natural powders, and is sweetened with Stevia. It's a little too sweet for me. I'm used to less sweetness. The only real negative I found is that it has extra dyes. I don't need my SkinnyStix to look orange to taste Tangerine.

Energy Boost:

The SkinnyStix formula was originally designed for weight loss, it’s become a phenomenon because people everywhere love the way it makes them feel. Many drink it before a workout for an energy boost, before heading to the office to help them focus, or in the afternoon to lift themselves out of that post-lunch slump.

Where to Get SkinnyStix: Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, and GNC

Cost: You can get a drink container and 21 Stixs for $29.99

Pure Yacon Syrup Sugar Substitute Review

I was given Pure Yacon Syrup to review. It's a natural sugar substitute. I'm pretty careful about sugar substitutes. Studies on Aspartame have been really bad! Yacon Syrup is a sweetening agent extracted from the tuberous roots of the Yacon plant, which is indigenous to the Andes mountains.

Pure Yacon Syrup is High in Prebiotics

It contains up to 67% FOS (Fructooligosaccharides), which among other benefits helps produce the friendly bacteria Microbiotas improving the function of the intestinal tract.

Unlike many other sugar substitutes and low calorie sweeteners Yacon Syrup has a high fiber content and aids in the lowering of cholesterol and your blood sugar levels. It's great to use if you have diabetes in your family.

It Helps Boost the Immune System, and With Weight Loss

Yacon Syrup naturally boosts weight loss as it not only acts as an appetite suppressant helping curb your appetite and your calorie intake but also by boosting your metabolism and increasing energy levels helping you burn more calories.

Boosts energy levels in the human body allowing you to burn more calories.

.
I've mentioned this before on my blog: Yacon Syrup tastes more like molasses than sugar.

What can you use it in?

I've been trying to stay away from making things like cookies {except for bake sales at my son's school}, but you could use Yacon as a substitute for molasses. Any cookie that has molasses in it - use Yacon Syrup instead.

I've used just a spoonful in coffee, and in smoothies.

I Also Make My Own Concoction:

This is great for if you have a cold, dry cough, or just simply feel like drinking something besides water.

Fill a small mason jar with 2 sprigs of thyme, or rosemary. Stuff it with slices of lemon wedges, add finely chopped ginger, add 4 whole cloves, and pour 1/2 the jar with local honey, and the other 1/2 the jar with Yacon Syrup. Put in the refrigerator for a few hours before use.

Add a spoonful, or 2 to your water, stir, and you have a wonderful drink!

  • The Yacon Syrup is full of prebiotics and fiber
  • The ginger reduces inflammation of any kind
  • Cloves are anti-inflamnitory as
  • The rosemary is a great source of iron, calcium, and vitamin B6
  • The lemon has vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber
  • Local honey can help fight allergies

What Does This Concoction Taste like?

It tastes like sweet lemon water.

100% Pure Yacon Syrup Manufactured In The USA at an FDA approved facility that follows Good Manufacturing Process (GMP).

It's originally $49.99, and on sale for  $13.99. That's a huge sale! The link to their Amazon page is in the first line of this post.

Ridset Review Update

If you have been keeping up with my posts you'd remember I was taking Ridset. It's an all natural body cleanse.

I've never done a cleanse before. I didn't know what to expect. Nothing too drastic happened to make me feel sick. I was a little nervous about feeling ill.

Changes in Me:

  • I have lost 20 pounds. I keep bouncing around 20 to 25 pounds less than I was. I still need to loose more weight. I think that's a great start. It takes awhile to pack it on, it should take awhile to loose it.

  • My allergies are still here, but are much better than last year! Last year I was having issues with allergies and asthma. The combination of those two things are horrible! This year I've had no breathing issues. Just sneezing episodes. Things may have gotten better from the detox. I'm keeping up with the Neti Pot.

  • The people that work at Ridset are amazing! They sent me a whole list of foods to stay away from that actually can stimulate allergies. I've been trying to stay clear of them. I'm not perfect, but I'm trying. The two foods that I was unaware of were bananas and spinach. The foods are:

    Dariry
    Dairy (Cheese, Milk, Yogurt ect.)
    Spinach
    Pineapple
    Processed Meats (Cold Cuts)
    Wheat
    Oats
    Eggplant
    Bananas
    Strawberries
    Black Beans
    Tomato Sauces
    Corn
    Taco Chips
    Granola Bars

  • I have had breakouts of pimples. When I started taking Ridset I had a few pimples on my chest. I also had a mysterious spot on my face. Towards the finish of taking it a few more pimples occurred. To me that's better than getting sick. My body had to show some way of getting rid of toxins.

With Ridset you can eat whatever you want. My diet mainly consisted of:
  • Kale, collard greens, and turnip greens, and mustard greens.
  • Slightly seasoned meat.
  • 1 serving of fruit a day.
  • Tons of water!

A few things about Ridset:
  • It's taken twice a day. An hour before breakfast, and an hour before dinner. You have to wait an hour just to make sure your body is ready to absorb the it's ingredients.
  • It's best to keep Ridset in a cold place like the refrigerator.
  • Main All Natural Ingredients: Black Walnut Hulls Powder, Garlic Bulb Powder, Pau D' Arco Bark Powder, Barberry Powder, Wormwood Herb Powder, Milk Thistle Powder, Burdock Root Powder, Marshmallow Root Powder, Ginger Root Powder and Cramp Bark Powder.
  • Ridset will help you feel renewed, detoxed, and revitalized.
  • It's $39.95 for a 30 day cleanse, $74.95 for a twin pack, and $144.95 for a four/family pack.
Check out Ridset's website, and their facebook page.
