WW: Outside {Linky}

Do you ever feel really cooped up during the winter time? Maybe in the south people do not. In the midwest it is really a thing. I don't want to go anywhere because it's cold, grey, and windy. Sometimes snowy and icy too.

A few weeks ago Travis convinced all of us that we needed to get out of the house. We went hiking at OPPD Arboretum and Heron Haven Nature Center. Both a small, but do have some walking/hiking you can do.

I did opt to digitally enhance the photo above. Again I'm already sick of colorless grass. It makes me want to see Wyoming - Geyser's once again, in the hot summer of course.

The boys like any kids do wanted to explore this tunnel. Isaak got a bit freaked out that water would start flowing fast in it, and they wouldn't be able to get out. I think he's been watching too many movies/shows.

He felt better when he was safe. Too good really. The punk kept annoying all of us. Ha!

This tree begged me, for a photo:

This bark looked a bit like camouflage:

We saw some cattails, which I don't know if I've ever noticed them - except in cartoons.

Do you feel stir crazy during the winter?

Does Discipline Exist With Other Animals?

When we were at OPPD Arboretum we spotted some birds. They were tweeting like crazy!

One was up in the grass.

The other 2 were down in the muddy water. Can you see the baby? It's camouflaged.

It looked as though this was a family of 3. The parents were telling their baby, "Get out of the mud! You're going to get stuck, and won't be able to fly away!"

Soon after I took these photos Isaak fell in the muddy water further downstream. Where the water was deeper. It's probably because I wasn't getting after him. I was too busy watching the birds discipline their young.

Random: Isaak swears that he speaks bird. He tweets a tweeting noise. Birds actually tweet back.

Do you think other animals besides us discipline their young?

WW: OPPD Arboretum {Linky}

I'm going back to take more photos, but I got some good ones.

A) The boys were crazy acting together. I think I'm going to take them 1 at a time to take their photos. It was a day after I let them stay up late.

B) I was silly, and didn't check my camera's batteries.

Isaak will turn 7 on the 19th, so I try and get pictures taken for each boy's birthday. This time I wanted to take photos of both kids. May is a better month to take photos - over August, when Mica's birthday is.

I changed his shirt a few times.

Together they are crazy with opposite personalities. They bicker all the time, but love each other to. Mica's a book reader, movie lover, and likes his alone time. Isaak loves card games, crafts, picking up things off the sidewalk, and time with people.

 I only got a few of Mica. He was running all around.

WW: OPPD Arboretum {Linky}

Mica was out with Dad, so I decided to take Isaak out to get his pictures taken at OPPD Arboretum.

Isaak will be 6 later this month, and usually I try and get pictures of the kids close to their birthday. I'm putting some photos up now, and the rest up on the 19th, which is Isaak's day.

I washed his hands and face, but didn't think about washing his knees!

WW: OPPD Arboretum {Linky}

The OPPD Arboretum is really close by us, and free. I never realized how pretty it is. I went to take photos of my sister's family. While we wait a few minutes for them to get there I took a few photos of my own boys.

The boys were running EVERYWHERE. I was running after them, and the whole sole of one of my boots fell off! I had those boots since 1997. It's not a horrible loss. It just made it harder to chase after my kids! Isaak in particular would not allow me to take photos of him. Especially when their cousins met up with us, there was no hope in getting photos. Most of these are of Mica.
