Faux Leather Coat Review

It’s so hot, but Isaak wouldn’t take off his faux leather coat. I do have to say that he looks pretty stylish.

Both Mica and Isaak are super tall - in the 97%! Isaak's 10, but I got him a 13-14. It fits great! It will fit all of fall, and hopefully all of winter.

Front:
  • The front has 2 pockets for gloves, hands tissues, or whatever else one would put in there. 
  • Towards the top are 2 faux pockets. 
  • The sleeves have elastic, which is great for putting over gloves when it's cold. 
  • There's elastic on the bottom sides. 
  • There's a metal zipper, which I love. Plastic ones seem so dinky! Everything is plastic now a days.
  • There's a snap on the top of the coat.


Back:
  • Towards the top are 2 faux pockets.

Colors:
  • Black
  • Brown
  • Camouflage 
Isaak would have picked black, but they were out his size. He said, "I like that color too Mom. It goes with my football!" Neither of us cared for the camouflage.

Isaak thought it was for sure leather, but it says it's faux leather. If he thinks it's real leather that's great!

Random Tid Bits

  1. One of my students totally missed her midterm exam last Friday. She's not a student that is doing well. She's legally blind, and struggles because of it, and other reasons. A few other students said, "I think she went to Kansas City for their Comic Con." Sure enough one of them brought their computer up for me to see pictures of her having a hay day at the Comic Con. She didn't even ask me if she could take her test early. I just wonder why anyone would skip a major class test to hang out elsewhere? Sometimes I just have to roll my eyes, and keep on going with a smile on my face. 

  2. Isaak lost one of his jackets. I searched his drawers, his closet and his coat rack for it. He of course had no idea where it was. Where was it at? In the lost and found at school. I'm glad we found it.

    Were/are your kids careless about where their toys, library books and clothes are at? I'm hoping this changes. Isaak's only 5. When I can't find something I search high and low for it.

  3. Daddy and I are officially on a Paleo diet. Basically it's eating lean meats, nuts, seeds, and loads of green leafy veggies. After the first week we can add in eggs, and other veggies. After the 2nd week we can add in fruit. I lost 5 pounds in 2 days. Then I gained 2 pounds back. Besides the weight loss, I'm hoping it helps me with my allergies. The struggles I had was knowing what to eat to absorb the antibiotics I'm taking.  I ended up eating 1 cup of Skinny Pop Gluten Free Popcorn. We're also getting up at 5:30 AM to exercise for 1/2 an hour. That's hell when you are sick. I picked to try this out on my student's spring break because I didn't know how often I was going to go to the bathroom. Really I don't go anymore than normal. I'm used to drinking a lot. I should have waited until I felt better. On the other end of things I'm not craving anything because I haven't felt like eating anything. I can't smell, so that's good when you're starting a diet.

  4. I'm so addicted to this game Brick Burst by Lego. It's a lot like Tetrus, but Legos. I thought my kids would get into it. I'm more addicted then they are.


  5. Isaak loves his wrist bands. I loved the company Knuckleheads, and sadly they closed their doors. I got Isaak's coveralls from them to. Now they are too short. :( He got them in his stocking this year.

Coats

Mica wanted to model his new new coats off. He's been wearing his winter coat with his magic cape over it all morning. I'm not sure why. He finally said, "Mommy I'm hot!" I said, "Well take your coat off like I suggested earlier." ;)

This is his Silver Point Flannel Jacket from Kohls. He told me that he wanted to cross his arms to make it seem like it was cold outside. Really it's warm. 


This is his winter Pea Coat from Gymboree. This is the one he's been wearing all morning with his magic cape over it. Daddy said, "Mica looks like a cute little English bloke." Sounds like something one of my old co-worker's from London would say.

Jacket

Mica wrote this on his chalkboard yesterday. Daddy helps him think of his sentence. Then he helps him sound out the words. He wanted to only put one "l" in "will." Mica then reads it off and on. Daddy said that he can tell Mica's trying to pick apart the words he wrote. His wheels are spinning. He's getting something out of the words he wrote.


Writing and putting together his Lego sets are Mica's newest loves right now. It's funny how kids go through stages. In the spring and early summer Mica loved to draw. He went through paper like crazy. I'm sure he killed a tree. Before that was puzzles. He was a master puzzle putter together. I know "putter together" probably isn't the best of English.

*Side Note: Our language is horrible! Just saying! Teaching Mica how to spell reminds me of how bad our language is. Think about the word, "Wind." It's used for two entirely different things. "The wind blows." "Wind your clock back an hour." There are many spellings of the word, "There, their and they're" depending on how you use it. Tons of silent letters. Then letters we don't use often {q, z, x}. Why do women go by Miss, Mrs and Ms; when men only go by Mr? So lame. Really if I want someone to know if I'm married, I can just tell them. Then Daddy told me I mix up "Then" and "Than" on my blog all the time. Sorry! He tells me how to use them and I just forget.

I hated learning Spanish in school. I figured I had enough problems with our difficult language. How in the world could I learn a new one? If it were my choice, I think hearing people speak French is the most beautiful. That language will never rule though. The rulers seem to be Spanish, English and Chinese.


*Side Note 2: A cold front came through. That's why Mica wrote what he wrote. Isaak was crying because he was so cold this morning. I said, "It's only going to get colder dear!" :(

Jacket Help

  • These are not very good photo's. 
  • I still wanted to post them. 
  • Mica voluntarily helped Isaak with his jacket. He is really blossoming as big brother since school started. 
  • No offense to their cousin Evan, but I think Mica and Isaak have bonded more since Evan went to kindergarten. Most of the time Mica had Evan around to play with. Mica and Evan were around each other so much that they were more like brothers then cousins. Mica didn't pay much attention to Isaak until recently. Evan on the other hand paid a lot of attention to his younger brother. It's always been Mica, Evan and Elijah (Evan's younger brother) all together. Isaak was the one that was left out.
  • Isaak being left out is turning around. Sometimes Isaak doesn't know what to think of Mica's new affection.
  • Mica will try to pick up Isaak. He also gives him voluntary hugs! HUGE CHANGE.
