Goat's Milk #Soap Review

For washing our hands we usually use liquid soap. For washing our bodies in the shower we use bar soap. I love bar soap so much! It just that I can't see my boys coming in from outside to wash their dirty hands, and having muddy yuckiness left on the bar. I like bar soap much more because it has less chemicals in it.

What soap do you prefer: Bar or Liquid?

I got a bar of Goat Milk Soap to review. I'm in love with how soft if makes my skin feel!

Where to Get it:

https://elitecreed.com/product/goat-milk-soap

Cost:

$6, which is a great cost in my mind!

What's in it to Make My Skin so Soft:

  • Saponified Organic Coconut Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Goat's Milk

What They Left Out That's Harmful to the Skin:

  • No Sulfates
  • No Phthalates
  • No Parabens
  • No Synthetic Colors
  • No Petroleum
I never have understood why we (the US) has to put so much color into this. Don't get me wrong I love color (I teach Color Theory), but it doesn't make the product better to be say bright pink.

Sulfates bother my skin, so I try and stay away from them.

What I Think:

I love how this soap makes my skin feel! Have you ever used a soap that dries your skin out? That's not this soap! It helps with things like eczema and psoriasis. Although I do think many skin problems have to be helped from inside the body as well. When my kids had eczema probiotics helped! Some people need diet changes as well.

Disclaimer: I got this product for a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. I only review things I think will benefit my readers, and family. This post has my honest opinion.

Vitamin C Cleanser Review

I confess I tried to wax the fine little hairs above my lip with wax strips. What happened? A chemical burn of some kind. Seriously that's how it feels. I'm plucking with tweezers for now on! I don't have very many hairs. Just a few on the sides of my lips that I want gone.

Of course this happened right before school started. I think I'm going to white lie to my students, and tell them I put a lotion or make-up on my face that I was allergic to. They don't need to know that I was trying to wax my little hairs. If I told teens that they'd picture me having a full blown mustache.

So what do you do when you have a chemical burn? As long as you show no signs of vomiting, fever, or faintness you just need to keep the area clean. This isn't that major, so no doctor visits for me. I imagine some do get that bad because they can lead to staph infections.

I've been cleaning my face that's non-irritating formula. It's Vitamin C Cleanser. It's a face wash that has natural and organic ingredients.

Cost $29.95, but on sale for $17.95

Contains:
  • No harsh chemicals
  • No Sulfates
  • No Parabens
  • No Artificial Fregrances
  • No Colors
  • No Dyes
  • 15% Vitamin C
  • Nourishing Aloe
  • Rosehip Oil
  • Tea Tree Oil
  • All Plant-Based Ingredients
This product is safe for all skin types. It maintains a healthy moisture balance without stripping your skin. One thing I really like is that it doesn't make the skin feel tight, or dry.

I Love That it's:
  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-Free
  • Made in the USA
  • Never Tested on Animals
It Does it's Job:
  • Removes Dirt
  • Removes Excess Oil
  • Removes Makeup
  • Brightens the Skin
  • Smooths the Skin
I don't have to worry about this product making my skin worse.

The Bath Outlet Glady Line Review

In our bathroom I've never had a nice soap dispenser. I've wanted one. Now I finally have one.

I didn't want to get a glass one because the boys drop things in the bathroom. Metal starts out looking nice, but is hard to clean. This soap dispenser looks like glass, but really is made with a thermoplastic resin.

It's light weight, easy to clean, and looks nice. My boys actually wash their hands a lot. I buy refill soap, add lemon essential oil to the soap. This product is perfect for us. We find it easy to pump.

Colors:
  • Transparent
  • Avocado Green
  • Orange
  • Pink
  • Lilac
  • Turquoise
  • White
  • Black
Cost:

$13.50

The Bath Outlet Carries:

A Soap Dish

A Soap Dispenser Like I'm Reviewing

A Toothbrush Holder

All their products come in the colors listed above.

They carry many more products at their store.

Adovia Sulfur Soap for Acne, Blackheads and Oily Skin with Dead Sea Salt - 100% Natural Review

I tend to break out about once a month. I usually get one pimple on my face that's a deep one. It is usually in a spot that's awkward like the center of my forehead. The big pimples usually happen when a lot is going on like the start of school, midterm time, or finals time.

The creases of my nose get black heads sometimes.

I am super light complected, most of my relatives are from Sweden and Germany, so any blemish on my Scandinavian face stands out like a sore thumb.

I got a soap called Adovia sulfur soap for acne to review.

Adovia sulfur soap, is highly enriched with minerals and sulfur from the Dead Sea.

About Adovia sulfur soap:
  • It's natural moisture levels are balanced and optimized with Olive Oil, Dead Sea minerals, and Aloe Vera extract.
  • Sulfur has Antiseptic, Anti-Fungal, and Antibacterial properties.
  • This soap cleanses your face and body thoroughly leaving your skin gentle and smooth.
  • The soap has a 3% sulfur content.
  • I like that the soap is not too expensive. It's $16 on Amazon, but marked down to $9.
It's a little hard to tell if this soap works just yet. Sometimes products like this one take time. It feels good when I wash my face with it. I like that it has Olive Oil, Dead Sea minerals, and Aloe Vera extract. I'm going to continue to use it though.

All We Needed Was New Soap

A few days ago we ran out of hand soap. Well I've been buying refill soap for quite some time now. Our soap bottle hasn't changed in a long time. I've been trying to be more green. I suppose if I was really green I'd make my own soap, or buy organic. No one is perfect. I have to say that I'm one of those consumers that get locked into sales and coupons so much. We love coupons. Isaak's job is to cut them. Then the boys each get coupons to look for items in the store. It makes the shopping experience so much better because they have something to do. Daddy tends to roll his eyes at coupons.

I decided to change soap bottles. I cleaned the old one over and over again on the outside. It was time for something new.

Daddy changed it out. This made for one happy little kid! Isaak was so excited to be washing with new soap.

Isaak said, "WOW this is blue! I love blue! Where did you get this Mommy?"

Before I could answer he kept on talking.

Isaak then said, "Oh WOW it has speckles in it to. That's so COOL Mom!"

It's the little things that make me smile.

The Joy of Melt and Pour Soap Crafting - Review

I had the pleasure to review a PDF of The Joy of Melt and Pour Soap Crafting by: Lisa Maliga.

The Joy of Melt and Pour Soap Crafting is available on Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook for $4.99.

Ever since I had a hive outbreak from Methosulfate {an ingredient that was in a lotion I was using}, I've been looking into making my own bath products.

This PDF answered a lot of questions I had. I still need to refer to it before purchasing stuff to make soap.

My favorite chapters are:
  • Soap Secrets
  • Recipes
  • Don't Make These Mistakes!
  • Resources
There are tons of recipes to choose from! I decided to try and make Bars of Coffee 'n Cream Soap.

It's really pretty easy. Mica helped me chop up the soap base. He loved the whole process of making soap.

I put it in a double boiler. Then added ground coffee and powdered goats milk. I decided to stay simple this first time and skip the optional coffee fragrance. I kind of wish I would have added it. There's always another time.

Silicone molds work really easily for putting the soap in and when it's time to pop them out. I used a heart shaped one. Here's how they turned out:

This particular soap is for the kitchen. It's an exfoliating soap that is meant to take away strong kitchen odors.

I want to try a few more soap recipes. I think: Oatmeal + Honey + Goat's Milk Soap sounds wonderful. I know my older sister would love the Jade Buddha Soap!

I think when Christmas time comes up next year, my family and teachers are getting homemade soap on their packages.

I Almost Had to Call Poison Control Today!

  • We came home from Costco, and of course there was a lot of stuff to unload. I knew we were low on dishwasher soap bubbles. I brought some up, and asked Mica to refill our tin that's under the sink. I got the tin out, and showed him where the wrapped soap bubbles were to fill up the tin. Then I shut the cupboard under the sink.
  • I was in the same room unloading groceries.
  • I noticed something was in Isaak's mouth.
  • It was the center part of a soap bubble!
  • He spit it out into my hand.
  • I'm so glad Isaak did not swallow this! I would have been so fearful, and would have had to call poison control!
  • Isaak got a lecture.
  • This kid hasn't tried to put anything foreign in his mouth since he was crawling!
  • He's Mr. Curious lately. Getting into the toilet, he bit a hole into a foam bowling pin that Mica has {didn't swallow any of it}, and now this dishwasher soap bubble thing!
  • I feel like we watch our kid's really well, I'm hardly in a different room from our boy's. Obviously I need to keep a major watch on him!
