Queen Shirt

Mica's obsessed with the band Queen. I'm not sure how he became obsessed with the bad. I like Queen, but it's never been a band I listen to over and over again.

Kids in his grade make fun of him because he likes old bands.

I decided to make Mica a Queen shirt.

Picking out colors can be hard, or easy. The shirt was grey, so I decided Freddy Mercury's face would be purple. I chose black for the text.

I went with an iron on vinyl. I don't find vinyl to always be super permanent. I've had some edges come up in the past. If that happens I just re iron it down. Kid's obsessions change. I didn't want to spend a lot on a t-shirt.

I cut out Mercury's face.

It was simple I just ironed it on.

Then I found one of Mica's favorite lyrics, typed it on my computer, put the t-shirt over the screen of my laptop, and used the laptop as a light box to fabric paint in the words.

It's not perfect, but Mica loved it!

If you could choose any band to have on a t-shirt what band would it be?

The Talking Shirt Review

My 10 year Mica is out of children's shirts. He's onto bigger, and sometimes more expensive shirts. I wondered if styles would be limited for adult shirts. Mica certainly doesn't act like a grown up yet.

The Talking Shirt has some great selection for everyone in the family!

The best thing about The Talking Shirt is that kindness is always in style! With patterns, colors, and characters they go in and out of trends.

They let me pick whatever shirt I wanted. The one that fit Mica's personality the most is the "Be Strong and Courageous" Tee.

I didn't even ask him if he liked the shirt before picking it out. It just fits his personality perfectly. The message is wonderful. He loves archery, so the arrows are perfect. I was right he loves it!

He's worn the tee four times now. He somehow got something black on the back of it. Guess what? It washed out. That's the one worry I have with light colored clothing. I do kind of wish they had the brown colored tee as an option for their men's sizes. Maybe if they let you pick a color that you'd want the tee printed on would be perfect!

About The Talking Shirt:

The Talking Shirt is a small shop. They felt the need to make shirts that are positive, and uplifting. In 2013 they began their journey to create the shop of their dreams.

They do have a lot of religious passages on their tees.

Sizes:

I love that The Talking Shirt has shirts for nearly all sizes for girls, unisex (boys included), men and women. All the messages on their shirts are positive!
  • Some shirts are baby and toddler sizes 0-3 months all the way to 5T. Not all shirts run in baby sizes. All running $20.
  • I saw others that are kid sizes Small 6/8 to XLarge 18. All running $20.
  • Then they have fitted shirts for women, and some relaxed shirts. Sizes run from small to XXLarge. The cost is $24 to $34.
  • There men's selection is a little smaller, but growing. Sizes run from small to XXXLarge. The cost is $26.
Be Strong and Courageous!

I want my kids to feel empowered to do good in this world. I think this shirt supports that!

Colors:

They have a lot of variety of colors for different tees. They don't give you the option to pick whatever color you want. I'm a big neutral color fan for my kids. They play hard, so I don't want dirt to show.

Remember to empower your kids by being strong and courageous!

Snorg Tees Review

Mica is officially in men's shirts. I love Snorg Tees because they have fun shirts that are affordable.

I know Mica has a Science Fair coming up at the end of the year. He was so jealous that Isaak got a lab coat, which was in children's sizes. I was so happy that Snorg Tees had a science shirt. It's called Forget Lab Safety.

Mica's super happy about his new shirt! He said, "YES!" as soon as he found out this shirt was for him!

Mica has a really long torso. Generally I find shirts that fit him length wise, but the shoulders are bulky. This shirt fits perfect!

Color:

The color is a silver, which looks like a heather grey to me. It won't show dirt as much as white will, and it won't fade in the wash like black will.

Sizes and Cost:

Mica's wearing a Men's small. If you like this shirt it fits all different sizes. All of these tees are $20, but are on sale for $16.
  • Guy's S, M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL. 2XL and 3XL are a tiny bit extra in cost. Comes in silver color.

  • Girl's S, M, L, and XL. They are more fitting than the guy's shirts. Comes in silver color.

  • Kids 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12. Comes in baby blue color.

  • Hoodies S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. Hoodies are $40, but are on sale for $32. The 2XL is a tiny bit extra in cost. Comes in heather color.
I love the hoodies to! Mica's Science Fair is the last week of school, so he need a tee.

We got a pair of nerd glasses to go with the tee.

Tagless:

One other thing I love about Snorg Tees is that they are tagless. It doesn't happen very often, but at times my kids get bothered by tags. If the tag is taken off we can't see the size, or washing instructions. No worries with this shirt. The tag is printed on the tee.

It was washed in cold water, and tumble dried. I use wool balls in the dryer to keep our clothes soft. I didn't get it out of the dryer right away, so it was a little wrinkly. Not any more than any other shirt though.

About Snorg Tees:

Snorg Tees was founded in 2004 by brothers Matt and Bryan Walls. They are Georgia-based. I love that fact, since I lived in Savannah, Georgia for 2 years, and Atlanta for 1 year. Snorg Tees has become one of the most well-known t-shirt companies on the internet.

They have a great design team. Watch out because they have discounts on their tees all the time.

Crazy Dog T-Shirts Review + a Giveaway!

Crazy Dog T-shirts let me select a handful of shirts from their sites. It was a hard decision to make.

I knew I wanted one of their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirts because Mica has that as a theme for his friend birthday party coming up. They only sell those for adults, so I decided that he could rock their Youth Turtle Face Shirt from CrazyDogTshirts.com instead. He loves it.

  • Colors: It comes in green and red.
  • Material: It is made of soft cotton. It's light weight, which is great because summer time is hot!
  • Cost: $16.99
  • Fit: Youth Small to Youth XL.

They also sent me an Ask Me For a Hug Shirt for Mica. It's a flip shirt. When I took the photos I completely forgot that it is a flip shirt. There's a bear under there! LOL

Right now this shirt is only available in Men's sizes. There was a slight greasy spot by the wording. It's clear. It came like that. I washed it in cold, and the spot is still there.
  • Colors: This one only comes in this color.
  • Material: It is made of soft cotton. It's light weight.
  • Cost: $18.99
  • Fit: It fits Men from Small to 4 XL. There are additional costs when you buy past XL.
I picked out a Zombie Hands T-shirt for Daddy. He has participated in a Zombie Walk that is held in town around Halloween.

  • Colors: This one only comes in this color.
  • Material: It is made of soft cotton. It's light weight, which is great because Daddy has been painting the house!
  • Cost: $16.99
  • Fit: It fits Men and Women from sizes from Small to 4 XL. There are additional costs when you buy past XL.
I've seen other reviews for Crazy Dog T-Shirts before. I've always entered to win one. I think some of their designs are pretty fun. It seems like there is something for everyone.

The shirts seem to fit true to the size it says. They washed up nice as well.

I didn't realize that they have so many branch stores. I think it's great because it seems like they have different target markets.

WW: Awkward Family Photo {Linky}

There's a perfectly good explanation as to why Daddy looks absolutely ridiculous.

Mica had to get t-shirts for his jujitsu class to fit under his uniform. I got him some.

Mica opened the package and said, "Mom these will never fit me!" I said, "Mica they are small and made to stretch. I know they will fit you, they are a size 7-8." He put it on. Mica said, "WOW Mom you are right. It did stretch."

Off he went into our bedroom to talk to Daddy. I heard Mica say, "Daddy this t-shirt fit me. It stretches! You can wear one to!" Daddy said, "Mica it won't fit me! It's a kid size!" Mica said, "No really Dad it stretches. You have to try it!" So he did...

Ready for it?

I had a hard time keeping the camera still I was laughing so hard! I did get a good shot though.

Warrior Poet Clothier T Shirt Review and Giveaway!

I knew as soon as I saw the t shirts on Warrior Poet Clothier that Mica had to have one. They just fit his personality so much! He's the adventurer, creative thinker, and a free spirit in our house. Warrior Poet Clothier fits all those categories.

On different days Mica can be seen dressed up like Indiana Jones, a Native American, a super hero or often times puts on a tie for no apparent reason.

We were given the t-shirt Live Like Heroes to review. They described the shirt on their website like this, "This shirt is cloaked in Valor and the battle-tested shield tells stories of legends passed down through the ages." It's perfect!

Warrior Poet Clothier has awesome shirts for boys! Everyone I know that has boys say they are hard to shop for! There's just not a lot of stores out there that have adventurous shirts. If a boy is into sports, they are set. Some are not. Part of Warrior Poet Clothier's mission is to be, "Balanced, stronger than most, more thoughtful than most–part of the leadership class who guides with wisdom and courage." - Gotten off Warrior Poet Clothier's site. When I find a place that has great boy clothing I brag about it.

My nephew that usually refuses to take pictures, tried on Mica's new shirt. He liked it. He was pretty happy to be wearing it.

The back has a shield and the front has continued straps that mimic holding up the shield and it says,

"What if we all lived like heroes?"

Here are some of the garment attributes:

I've washed the shirt twice. It washes to fit the size it says it is. The color stayed just as vibrant as when it first came to us.

Now it's time for the giveaway! One winner will have the chance to choose their own shirt from Warrior Poet Clothier if the size is available. If they are out of stock in a size you need; they will choose a shirt for you. You will not be unhappy. All their shirts rock!

A $28 value. This entry is for US residents only.
