A New Cut #haircut

We have back to school part two. So far the boys have been strictly virtual learning. Now they are starting to go back part time. Isaak starts tomorrow, and Mica will start in a few weeks.

I'm sort of nervous, but it is what it is. Mainly nervous because Nebraska's cases keep going up. Another part of me is thinking...how long should be halt life? This whole pandemic has been tug of war in my brain, since it started.

As it is, my oldest two nephews had to take COVID tests recently. Do they have it? They haven't gotten the results back. Now my oldest sister has whatever my nephew has. It's horrible to not know if something is allergies, a cold, or COVID.

My youngest sister never has her kids go anywhere. They are more like mine. Home bodies. I don't blame them - having two kids with special needs. One being a brand new baby.

There's talk about our boy's district going back to online learning only, with the cases on the rise. So far it's a go.

Isaak's hair was looking pretty shaggy. I don't mind shag, but he hates it.

HavenJanny Hair Clippers:

Luckily I got a clipper set to review. Boom...one less place to go. Travis isn't bad at cutting hair, but he dropped his last cutter, so it was totally not working.

First off the set had a lot of extras, which was nice. BUT they only had a few blades. Travis is used to more. Blade from his other set fit though. YAY! If you want a lot of blade options there isn't a lot in this set.

There were English and Chinese directions, but the English seemed broken up.

It came charged at 100%, but to be honest it kept shorting out. It was pretty much useless, due to the shorting out. A motor has to work. YO! One positive thing...it was quiet. Travis is used to a noisy clipper.

Where to get it:

Isaak was super excited about his hair. He would have wanted some major fancy lines put in it. Travis was like, "Um no. I'm just not doing all that." For a pandemic cut, it looks just fine.

Have you gone to get your haircut, since the pandemic started? I haven't.

Disclaimer: I got this product, for a discount to help with this review. All opinions are mine.

Random Tid Bits

  1. On Thursday I couldn't stop crying. I guess it was just my time to cry. I haven't cried, for a really long time prior to Thursday. Sometimes one just needs to let it all out.

  2. The school I worked at got broken into on Monday night. My bosses got dings on their phones that there was activity. They looked, and called 911. It was 5 punk kids that realized the back doors didn't get shut all the way. Possibly the cleaning lady. It doesn't matter. Anyhow all they stole was zucchini I gave my 3rd year students, and candy on someone else's desk. I had a chuckle about the zucchini. Since they were young punk kids, I can only imagine that they were being goofy with the zucchini like it's male's 3rd leg. 4 were arrested.

  3. We had a garage sale, and made over $100. After we had it we sold just about as much on Facebook Marketplace.
  4. I just wish we could sell this stove! It's an antique, and in great condition! We've used it, but it needs a new flue. With my asthma, it's not great to breathe in any smoke, even if it is limited. We really could use the room. It's in our living room. One of Travis' sculptures would look great there, so would a Christmas tree. Online it's selling for $600, and that's a beat up stove. I put ours on FB Marketplace for $500, then $400, then $300, and now $200. No one wants it.

  5. I questioned weather to blog about this, or not. I just won't, for it's own post. Isaak has a kid at school telling him that his hair is ugly. It's crazy to me because Sports Clips posted his hair on their facebook page. Two people worked on it. Isaak loved it!

I want to scream at this punk ass kid that's making fun of Isaak. Seriously! Isaak doesn't even know his name. I can't do anything about it, even if I wanted to. This punk doesn't know all the crap he went through last year. Isaak's an empathetic one! The one friend he's made sat down with the punk kid at lunch. Isaak sat by himself. He's like me, social around people he knows, and shy around people he doesn't know. I said, "Honey you should just sit with people you have classes with."

He took that as me being mad at him, ran off into his room and sobbed.

We tried to comfort him, but left him be for 20 minutes. I said I was sorry, that I'm not at all mad at him. He proceeded to cry and talk to himself in the 3rd person. Things like, "Isaak stop crying!" and "Isaak you need to quit!" I just wanted to yell, "STOP! You are a good looking boy!" or cry right along with him.

The next night math homework was what he cried about. He knew how to do it, but kept saying he didn't know.

These crying episodes started last year. They took a break over the summer, and now they are back again.

What freaks me out is that he doesn't know how to talk to us. He says he doesn't know what's bothering him. I know. The talking to himself in 3rd person bothers me a lot!

I did ask his friend Daniel to come over. They had problems over the summer, but they have each have each other's back at the school where they know no one. It just sucks that Daniel doesn't have lunch at the same time as Isaak does.

I contacted his doctor. Isaak may be seeing a Therapist soon. I at least want the school councilor to help him. It's horrible that everything is happening at once. We have the crappiest of insurance. Isaak needs braces, Travis messed up his elbow, and probably needs a scan and surgery, and now Isaak needs help with his feelings. I wish there was a video to watch, where I could snap my fingers to know how to deal with this! Worrying about him is part of why I was crying non stop! Why say anything on here? I think mental health isn't talked about enough. If someone has a medical problem it's no biggy, you talk about it. If someone has a mental health issue it's frowned upon, with talking about it. We all have lows in our life, our struggles, and we should talk about them.

How Changing Your Hairstyle Enhances Your Personality

You can make your presence felt in a gathering by enhancing your personality and adding style to yourself. Just by making small changes, you can make great differences and can stand out in a gathering completely. Apart from updating your dressing, you can bring great changes in your look if you change your hairstyle as well. Many working women wear their hair simple and straight every day to their desk jobs, however, if you add slight changes to your haircut and hair styles every day, you can not only feel good but you will also become the inspiration for many to wear their hair well.

I'm thinking about a new haircut, but haven't decided what cut I prefer. My hair is still like the picture below. Just a little longer.

Hairstyles and haircuts keep evolving with fashion, there are some cuts and styles which are classic and can stay in fashion for a very long time. Even though, the classic is the best, however, if you don’t change your haircut or hairstyle for a long time, you yourself become bored and exhausted of looking at it every other day. New haircut and hairstyles bring out a lot of positivity and freshness to a person. With the change in your overall look, you feel more confident and motivated about yourself. Some people tend to get a haircut only because it is in fashion and their favorite model got the same hairdo. However, little do they realize that every person has their own face cut, hair texture and they should be getting a haircut according to their own hair texture and face cut. My New Hair Style has a collection of tips and ideas for those who want to get a haircut and change their hairstyle.

Hair is indeed the most neglected part of a person’s body despite being the most exposed one. Your hair give the personality and add charisma to you. Therefore it is very necessary that you pick your haircut very wisely. The correct selection of haircut will not only add to your personality but will also help to enhance it. Keep in mind your face cut and hair texture, you can choose the hair cut for you wisely. There are cuts which are especially for people who have round faces and they help to make their faces look slim and long. Similarly, the people with slim and thin hair want to have cut which will not make their face look much longer but can help to give it a refined cut.

An average person, do not get the same team to prepare you for the public appearance every morning like a celebrity and model gets each time before they appear on the television. Therefore, it completely relies on you that how you choose to flaunt your personality and enhance it by choosing a different hairstyle every now and then. Not only enhancing your look but a hair style also becomes a part of your introduction. If you choose to change your look often that will also become a part of your personality and can declare you as the dynamic one among all and won’t be the same boring one like others.

It's a 10 Miracle Defrizzing Gel

My hair isn't super curly, but it isn't straight at all either. It's frizzy! When it was longer it drove me nuts! It really only looked good if I used a flat iron on it.

I didn't mind when I cut it, so it was shorter, down to the base of my neck. It curled on its own.

Then I decided to be very brave, and chopped it. I heard people that loved it, while others were like, "I think you should  ____  your hair." Some would fill that blank in with "grow", and others would fill it in with "color". Well I'm just not going to color it. It's uniformly grey. I happen to not mind it. As far as growing it out, I am for now. The great thing about hair is that it will grow back.

Since it is short I do have cowlicks. I also find that if I don't put anything in it it sort of falls in my face.

I just tried a unique gelled oil formula. It's a 10 Miracle Defrizzing Gel: https://www.fashionandbeautystore.com/its-a-10-miracle-defrizzing-gel-5-fl-oz.html. I really like it.

It's not thick, or sticky.

This lightweight formula is for curly hair, straight hair, or me that falls somewhere in the middle. It defrizzes and tames flyaways, which I have tons of both.

This is right after I wet it, and put it on. It dried less wet looking. BUT it held!

The Gel:
  • Defines curls
  • Has incredible shine
  • Is never greasy
  • Conditions and improves texture
  • Improves manageability
  • Controls natural body of hair
Let me tell you it works!

Cost:

$16.99, but that's the sale price. It's usually $19.99. Pick it up, while it's on sale!

Do you use any products in your hair?

Alterna Dry Shampoo Bamboo Leaf Review

One thing I've never tried is dry shampoo. I've always wanted to though. This last week I had a chance to try out Alterna Dry Shampoo Bamboo Leaf dry shampoo.

It was packed so well. The whole product was covered in plastic. That guaranteed that no spray came out.

About Dry Shampoo:

This is a virtually translucent dry shampoo that is designed to absorb oil, product build-up, and impurities to extend the life of your blowout without leaving any powdery residue. Use it to give volume to freshly washed hair with a fresh bamboo leaf scent.

Why Dry Shampoo:
  • It helps you have a lot of build up of other products in your hair.
  • During allergy seasons I have to keep my hair clean at all times. I can't have pollen in it, and sleep on it.
  • This shampoo is so convenient because I can wash it anywhere at any time.
  • During the winter months some people get really dry. Everyone would love to take a shower daily to stay clean, but it's not always in the cards for dry cracking skin. With dry shampoo you can keep your hair clean.

What it Doesn't Have:
  • No Parabeans
  • No Sulfates
  • No Phthalates
  • No Synthetic Color
I'm so glad there's no sulfates. My body hates them.

Cost:

$18.50 for 4.75 ounces.

Disclaimer: I received Alterna Dry Shampoo to review. I wrote this post, and was not influenced at all with an opinion. I only review things that I find interesting, or that would benefit my readers.

Self Hair Cut Clipper Pro System Review

Travis cuts his own hair most of the time. He also cuts Isaak and Mica's hair when they want it short.

I'm so happy to share with you: Self Hair Cut Clipper Pro System that I got for review.

The grooming trimmers pot set has a unique curved handle. This allows for a better grip on the handle. The blade will cut without problems. No more twisting funny at the wrist to try and cut a spot.

There is a cord that comes with the set. The cord is just for recharging the battery that comes in it. The battery is a lithium battery that can be used for over 60 minutes. The battery lasts 3 times longer than most batteries.

The set does have a detachable blade heads which can set in 4 different directions to help reach all tough spots. There are 6 combs for different cuts. 2 are for sideburns.

There was one that was bent.

All attachments are rinsable for an easy clean, washable with water and air dry.

Extras:

The only thing I miss with photos that I'm super excited about is the hair cutting cape. That's going to be great to use on the boys. It was hidden under everything.

Have you ever cut someone's hair?

Disclaimer: I got this product for a discount in exchange for an honest review.

Haircuts

It's been awhile, since I've blogged about us.

Both boys have gotten a haircut. Mica got a lot off. I thought it would feel much better before their outdoor camp. Isaak we didn't get his cut until after it though. Isaak wouldn't let me take pictures. He's in a non picture taking phase.

Travis cut Isaak's hair. It stayed the same length on the top, and shorter on the sides and back.

Of course Mica's hair looks much better styled, but it hasn't been styled, since the day he got it cut.

Both boys love their new hairdo's.

Mica in particular has a lot of cowlicks in the front of his hair. His bangs grow in at a major diagonal angle. When it's really short it looks like someone didn't know what they were doing when they cut it. I love that the hairdresser left his front a little longer.

I need a haircut as well, but I can't decide if I want to trim it, or chop it. I know it's just hair, it will got back, but my hair is slow to grow. I have to say that it looks better short, but I love being able to put it up. Decisions!

Ice Cream

Once upon a time my 7 year old nephew Elijah was slightly annoyed because people kept making comments about his brother Evan's hair (which is red), and never made any comments about his hair (which is blond).

I made an effort to comment about Elijah's hair whenever I saw him. I'm kind of weird... I said, "I just want to eat your hair! It reminds me of vanilla ice cream. No one can pass up vanilla! You're so lucky that you have so many flavors of ice cream hair in your family. You have Evan's strawberry, your vanilla, Emerson's chocolate, and Edison's vanilla strawberry swirl. We only have chocolate in our family."

How I referred to hair color being like ice cream flavors must have stuck. My nephews were talking about different ice cream flavors in comparison to hair color.

They call me "Aunt Lissy". One of them said, "Aunt Lissy's hair is Rocky Road Ice Cream." The other said, "The grey streaks are the marshmallows."

I don't have any problem with people coloring their hair. In fact I think it's fun with all the colors that are out there. Plain colors are natural looking, and fun in their own way to.

Source
Those that color their hair do not have Rocky Road Ice Cream hair like me. I suppose blond highlights could be marshmallows to. I picked a Rocky Road Ice Cream with even more yummy chunks added. Ha

Source
In all seriousness I'm just glad Elijah's happy with his hair color now. He's my vanilla boy.

When I was little I was envious of my older sister Angela's hair. Her hair is strawberry blond, so it's strawberry vanilla swirl ice cream.

I always wanted red headed children. It's a recessive gene. My Dad is a true red head. I know they are more sensitive to the sun, have thinner skin, and get more freckles. They are also more on the rare side, which makes them unique.

I am happy with my brown hair, brown eyed boys. Chocolate is wonderful!

What color of hair do you like?

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?

WW: Haircuts {Linky}

Mica kept saying that he wanted his hair cut. We didn't want to spend money on haircuts, so Dad cut their hair. He actually does really well with cutting hair. Much better than some of the people at Great Clips!

We've tried trash bags over them with a hole for their heads as a smock, but they get hot, and sticky. We didn't use anything this time. The hairs tickled their arms, chests and bellies. Maybe I need to take an old sheet, cut a hole in that for their heads, and use it for a smock.

Isaak really has trouble holding still. He giggles the whole time.

The hardest part about cutting his hair, is all the cowlicks in the back.

Mica had the biggest mop. His hair went down to this eyebrows, and past his ears.

The hard part when cutting his hair is how thick it is, and that his bangs grow in crooked. I've come back from getting his hair cut before, and it looks like someone had their scissors slanted.

Dad did a good job! I only have photos of the process, not the final results.

UNi 100% Organic Pure Moroccan Argan Oil 2oz Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I really love putting oil on my skin over lotion. It's great to help maintain frizzy hair as well. I just think it works better than lotions and conditioners.

Recently I got UNi 100% Organic Pure Moroccan Argan Oil 2oz to Review.

I really love that this oil can be used on hair, and skin. Some oils are one or the other.

Ingredients in UNi Argan Oil:

I like when companies do not have a ton of ingredients in their products. I feel this way about products I put on my skin, hair, food and drink products.
  • It's 100% pure organic.
  • It's made from Moroccan Argan Trees.
  • It is cold pressed and unroasted.
  • It comes rich in Vitamin E.

About UNi Argan Oil
  • It has a scent, but it's not strong. So many people are sensitive to scents, so I am happy it's not strong.
  • It helps hydrate, protect and restore elasticity to all hair types. As I've aged my hair has gotten frizzy. I think UNi Argan Oil helps maintain that quality of my hair I don't like. It helps to apply it when your hair is clean, and damp. If you use for your hair, you don't need to use conditioner. This is a leave in conditioner.
  • Large concentration of fatty acids and antioxidants restore the appearance of dull skin, hair, body, scalp, cracking and peeling of nails. I've been using this on Mica's dry chin, and it seems to be helping. I also have a dry forehead, and have been using it for that.
  • It's non greasy.
  • It goes on smooth.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • It's really easy to apply. Even my 8 year old Mica had no problems applying it.
The Manufacturing of UNi Argan Oil:

It's manufactured in the Kingdom of Monrocco and packaged in the USA. The manufactured date is printed on every bottle with a shelf life of 36 months. UNi Argan Oil are manufactured and bottled throughout the year to ensure freshness and quality. UNi Argan Oil comes in a beautiful smooth dark glass bottle with easy access dropper.

Where to get it?

UNi Argan Oil is sold on Amazon. The original price was $35.99 and it's marked down all the way to $13.95! What a steel for something so pure and wonderful.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
