Great Kids Snack Box Review

I have 1 little basketball player that's going through a growth spurt. Great Kids Snack Box is there to help with this. They send out monthly boxes that are loaded with individually wrapped snacks.

Protein that's great before his practices and games:

Food that hydrates, and gives him natural sugars after practices and games:

Daily snacks because he's active and growing:

What do we love about Great Kids Snack Box:

  • It's filled up! There's no waist in this box.
  • Everything is individually wrapped. If Isaak doesn't like something, then Mica will eat it. Isaak I know already doesn't like dried fruit, so Mica will snack that down.
  • The snacks are healthy for the most part. One could argue that anything prepackaged isn't healthy. Compared to all other prepackaged things these are very healthy snacks!
  • Perfect for a wide age range. These snacks will work for my 8 year old, but my 11 year can equally enjoy them.
  • It has a wide variety of things in it.
  • There's free shipping.
  • Cost wise it's fairly inexpensive: $39.95. It may seem like a lot, but there's a lot in the box.

What I wish Great Kids Snack Box had:
  • I wish they'd have a survey section to get to know their audience before parents order from them. If someone has toddlers maybe the snacks would be different than older kids. Some kids may love protein bars, while others do not. Then the boxes could be tailored to each family. This is really the only change I'd make.

Do you like getting monthly boxes?

Nest Protein Bites

I made these easy No Bake - Nest Protein Bites.

You just combine all the ingredients, minus the Dove Dark Chocolate Eggs in a mixing bowl.

I use a cookie scoop to scoop them out to be the same uniform size and shape. If my hands, or the scoop gets sticky I just drizzle water on them.

Add a Dove Dark Chocolate Egg to each one.

They will store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Around our house they never last that long though.

They are super good for breakfast, or snacks. This is the first time I've made them, but they are great for around spring and Easter.

Post Workout Snacks and Breakfast

I workout in the morning before breakfast. I do leg lifts, lift weights, and climb up and down the stairs.

I try and get in a healthy breakfast for my family. It's important to me, since I just got done working out. For my kids it's important because breakfast at home is a snack to them. They eat a little at home very early, and more at school later. I'm just not sure how healthy school food is.

We eat a protein of some kind to get us going, steams greens, a small carb, and fruit.

Recently I made Cranberry Protein Bites. They are great for post workout healthy sacks, or breakfast.

They are super easy to make! I used sunflower seed butter, but any nut butter will do. You can even buy your own nuts and make your own nut butter.

I use local honey.

I love adding Chia Seeds to boost fiber in my snacks and breakfasts.

Other snack or breakfast ideas for post workouts are:

Breakfast Cookies

Oatmeal Super Food Power Bars

All these snacks or breakfast items are easy to make. They are all rich in protein.

100% Pure Whey Protein Isolate 3 Single Serve Pk Review

Recently I got 100% Pure Whey Isolate 3 Single Serve Pk to review.

I do wish that they would have given me more. I knew up front that we weren't getting a lot to review. Companies need to understand that reviews do take time. $7.99 worth of product isn't worth my time. It takes me awhile to take pictures, read about their product, and write the review.

My boys are always hungry. This is protein that helps them get filled up.

I split one packet between the boys. On on the packet it says that you can mix it with your favorite drink. I mixed the boy's in with unsweetened almond milk.

I wish it came with a whisk because that's what I needed to use to get it all mixed up. You can see it was clumpy. There's no way shaking it in a closed container, or stirring it with a spoon would have taken out the clumps.

I whisked it with the boy's chocolate milk/hot coco electric whisk. It was mixed.

Mica liked it. Isaak didn't care for it.

In the morning I tried a packet in our smoothie. It was the bomb! We all liked it except for Isaak. He doesn't like smoothies in general.

Smoothie:
  • 1 cup of baby spinach leaves
  • 10 frozen strawberries
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 package of 100% Pure Whey Protein Isolate
  • Water (if you like it thick add a little water, if you like it runny add a lot of water)

This made 3 adult smoothies, or 2 adults and 2 children sized smoothies.

What I love about 100% Pure Whey Protein Isolate:

  • It's Lactose Free - I try and stay away from milk products. I'm not 100% perfect, but I try for the most part
  • I also love that it fills the boys up - Summit Nutritions whey protein is isolated from Whey Protein concentrate by using patented ultra-microfiltration process which preserves Natural Profile of Amino Acid unlike other whey protein isolates that denature the Protein profile by using Ion Exchange method or others - Their protein is free from protein spiking or amino acid spiking and it gives you 90% Protein per Scoop
  • It's Gluten Free
  • Soy Free
  • It's Non-GMO
  • It's Kosher
  • It's low in Cholesterol
  • Zero Fat
  • Naturally Flavored
What is Protein or Amino Acid Spiking?

Many National Brands has added extra cheap Amino Acids like Taurine, Glycine, Glutamines and Creatine to the protein powders even though they are not Food Based Protein, but added to be calculated as protein to lower the cost since they are much cheaper to manufacture. There are class action lawsuits cases against those companies (Mostly National Brands).

They don't make protein complex Whey Protein Isolate with Whey concentrate to bring cost down. So look at your Protein supplement fact and find out what is with Protein and make your choice.

Flavors and Cost:

Natural Alpine Vanilla Single Serving of 3 $7.99 | 2 Pounds $36.99 | 5 Pounds $69.99

Natural Dutch Chocolate Single Serving of 3 $7.99 | 2 Pounds $36.99 | 5 Pounds $69.99

I got the Natural Alpine Vanilla Single Serving of 3.
