Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Giveaway

This morning I made cookies! Breakfast cookies that is.

I used a scoop to make them, so they were rounder than cookies usually are. My boys thanked me for breakfast.

Here's how to make them:

Set the oven at 350 degrees. Bake for 12 minutes or if you like crispy cookies, bake for 15 minutes. They do not spread much, but will get more puffy and golden around the edges.

I used a mixer and just dumped all the ingredients together. If you are not using a mixer, combine the dry ingredients in one mixing bowl, the wet ingredients in another and mix them for the end results.

*The dried cherries can be substituted for other dried fruit.

Tropical Traditions gave me a jar of Gold Label Extra Virgin Coconut Oil to try out. there are 100s of ways to use coconut oil. Check out the ways here.

Here's what CEO of Tropical Traditions says about Coconut Oil:

Now for the giveaway! One US or Canadian reader is going to win 1 32 ounce jar of Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil!

Glass and Surface Cleaner Review and Giveaway {Rafflecopter}

Tropical Traditions sent me a bottle of Household Traditions Glass and Surface Cleaner - 32 oz. to review.

I love cleaning knowing that I'm not spraying harmful chemicals all over.

No ammonia, alcohol or harsh volatile solvents
0% VOC (Volatile organic Compounds)
No rinsing required and Non-streaking
No fragrance or dye added

Please click on Read More on the bottom of the post to enter the giveaway!

I work at an art college. With all the chemicals in paint and other mediums, I really don't have too many issues. When it's time for the students to clean, I get a huge headache from the cleaning solution that they use. At home I'm trying to go all natural.

Tropical Traditions Glass and Surface Cleaner contains only water and mild plant-based surfactants. It's a product which guards my families health from harmful irritants and inhalants. This cleaner contains no dyes or fragrances. It still does it's job!

I loved how you do not need to use water to wipe it away! It's fast drying, steak free and lint free. It can be used on ALL glass including mirrors, light fixtures, Plexiglass, windshields, treated glass, TV screens and computer screens! Other surfaces include: Chrome, appliances, vinyl, stainless steel, plastic, porcelain, countertops, walls, floors and much more.

I've been cleaning little and big areas all weekend. The first area I cleaned was our glass door. The wiped area is where I cleaned and it did a great job. If you look close, you can see where I didn't get yet. The little kid hand print is towards the bottom left of the picture. I also cleaned the mirror, shower doors and kitchen table.

If you buy Tropical Traditions Glass and Surface Cleaner by clicking on any link in this post, Tropical Traditions will send you a free recipe book to use Coconut Oil.

You can win a win a spray bottle of Glass and Surface Cleaner.

Holidays at Tropical Traditions

I wanted to let you, my readers in on the fact that Tropical Traditions has a 32 ounce of Coconut Oil for free. Just use this link to get it for free. It's usually $40. It's a Christmas gift from them.

Just to warn you, you do need to buy at least $16 worth of other stuff. I bought more Citrus Lotion and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter. Mica's in love with their Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter. I'm in love with their Citrus Lotion! They have a lot of other stuff to choose from; if lotion and peanut butter are not your thing.

I use their Coconut Oil almost every time I bake. It's yummy and is much better for you than butter! When I first got it to review, I had never heard of it. Now it's a staple in my kitchen.

Now if only they would get their Coconut Peanut Butter back it! I'm addicted to this soup!

They did not give me anything for posting this. I just wanted to let you in on their holiday special.

Tropical Traditions Organic Lip Moisturizers Review and Giveaway

Tropical Traditions sent me Organic Lip Moisturizers.  I thought it was a perfect product to try out this time of year! I didn't expect to get more then one. They sent me five different scents.

If you are anything like me, you're probably wondering how these lip moisturizers are different then many others out there on the market?

All of the Lip Moisturizers are made with Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Virgin Palm Oil and Organic Beeswax. It is important that all the ingredients can be edible and are organic. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil has been independent laboratory tested. The tests show higher level of antioxidants than other coconut oils. Organic Virgin Palm Oil contain high levels of Vitamin E and rich in natural carotenes.

These hand-made lip moisturizers contain no alcohols, no artificial fragrances and no petroleum products.

Scents:

Unscented
Tea Tree
Cinnamon/Peppermint
Orange/Cinnamon
Citrus

Note:

They only use high quality organic essential oils. They are distilled with a low temperature and low pressure over an extended period of time. This method has been proven to be the most effective of obtaining all of the essential constituents from the plant and provide their products with quality fragrances.

What I Thought:

The boys and I loved the different scents! I like how I can smell the scent, but I don't feel like licking it off. It's great knowing that I'm putting something safe on my boys and my lips! Mica and I especially are mouth breathers. We have major lip issues in the fall/winter time. I'm happy to continue to try these out!

Tropical Traditions Coconut Flour Review and Giveaway

Tropical Traditions sent me Coconut Flour to review and giveaway!

I decided to try and make Chocolate Chip Cookies. They turned out more like Chocolate Chip Nuggets. I changed the name of my recipe. They are just as good as cookies, but are healthier. Tropical Traditions Coconut Flour is organic, full of fiber and protein. Much healthier then All Purpose Flour! It works great for things like brownies, muffins and cakes! The package comes with a recipe on the back for brownies.

My little helper was Isaak. He put all the ingredients in the mixer. In this picture, he's getting ready to dump in the Coconut Flour.

I used a metal scoop to form the nuggets. The scoop size can vary depending on how big you like your desserts.

This is what they look like when they are finished:

Isaak polished off 2 small Chocolate Chip Nuggets. He wanted more! I packaged a big plate for work. They went FAST! A couple people were interested in the Organic Coconut Flour.

A Little Bit O' Information About This Flour:
  • It is fiber from coconut meat. The oil is extracted to make Virgin Coconut Oil. *The extra fiber I'm sure is why my cookies stayed in the form of nuggets. Like I said it can be used for cakes, muffins and brownies. The Chocolate Chip Nuggets were different, fun and tasted really good! I usually learn more about the product after I've tried it out.
  • It is certified organic.
  • I love that it is unsweetened.
  • Since Organic Coconut Flour contains natural sugar from the coconut meat, baked goods need less sugar added. I actually added less sugar to my recipe.
  • This product has not been treated with sulfites.
  • Is high in dietary fiber and protein.
  • Is 100% gluten-free.
  • You can use it to thicken up sauces and soups. Some people add some to smoothies for added protein.
  • It smells so good!
  • It was packaged well! They actually put it in two thick plastic bags.
Giveaway:

One US or Canadian reader is going to win a 2.2 lb bag of Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Flour

Tropical Traditions Peppermint Moisturizing Lotion Review and Giveaway!

Tropical Traditions sent me Organic Peppermint Lotion to review and giveaway.

I have to say that Isaak and I get pretty dry skin during this time of year. We both have Keratosis Pilaris (KP) is a very common skin condition often referred to as "chicken skin". It is resembles goosebumps, it is characterized by the appearance of small, rough bumps on the skin. We just have it on the back of our upper arms and top part of our legs. It's pretty common. I didn't realize that 1/2 our population has Keratosis Pilaris. I'm sure some have Keratosis Pilaris, and are not familiar with the name.

I love this lotion because:
  • It's free of harmful chemicals
  • Fits in my purse or carry on bag
  • Can be used for boy or girl
  • Smells good
  • It is a thicker lotion

Giveaway:

One US or Canadian reader is going to win a 8 FL oz. of Tropical Traditions Peppermint Moisturizing Lotion!

Tropical Traditions Powdered Dish Detergent Review and Giveaway!

Tropical Traditions sent me Powdered Dish Detergent to review and giveaway! This giveaway is open to US and Canada.

I was really excited to try this ultra-concentrated chlorine free dishwasher detergent because Isaak tried to eat one of these:

He spit it out! I was so glad because I thought I might have to call poison control!

Tropical Traditions is known for their environmentally safe and non-toxic products. It is still harmful if swallowed. What I like is that it does not look like candy. It also is much better on my dishes!

I've ran five loads of dishes. They all came clean! No residue was left on our dishes!

About Tropical Traditions Powdered Dish Detergent:
  • The product does not contain chlorine, phospates, fillers or fragrances.
  • It only has a handful of ingredients: Sodium citrate, sodium carbonate, sodium percarbonate, surfactants, rinse agents and silicate.
  • It comes in a 5 LBS. container. One load = one scoop, which is 2 ounces. If you have tougher problems, you will need to fill both sides according to your dishwasher instructions.

Tropical Traditions Canadian Raw Honey Review and Giveaway!

Tropical Traditions sent me Canadian Raw Honey to review and giveaway! This giveaway is open to US and Canada.

Grandpa Spiehs has talked about raw honey; I have never tried it until Tropical Traditions sent me some! I'm a fan!

This morning I made Oat Meal Gems. It's a recipe I grew up with. The boy's and I like it best served with honey on top!

The recipe is super easy! Set your oven to 350 degrees. You combine the first 1/2 of the ingredients listed. Stir and set it aside.

The you combine the second set of ingredients. Stir and combine both together.

Then pour in a greased {I use Olive Oil spray} 9x12 pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick is inserted, and comes out clean.

Spread with Tropical Tradition's Canadian Raw Honey and you are set! YUMMY!

About Tropical Tradition's Canadian Raw Honey:

  • It is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer and comes from the frontier areas of Canada.
  • Most commercial honeys on the market come from bee farms, where the bees are controlled and get their pollen from one kind of flower. The flowers are usually grown with pesticides and fertilizers. This removes the beneficial enzymes and nutrients. This is not how this honey is processed. The honey I reviewed has live yeast and enzymes. It's pure, smooth and creamy.
  • In order for honey to be certified organic, the beehives must be placed in an isolated area. Far from huge populated areas. Bee's flying range is determined by their instinct. Finding areas that a clear of population is becoming more and more challenging.
You can win what Tropical Traditions sent me! A 17.6 ounce jar of Canadian Raw Honey. A $19.50 value!

You can enter if you are not a blogger. Leave a separate entry for each. Make sure the first entry is filled out before all others.
