  • A student let me borrow the movie Coraline. I have to say it was great!
  • I'm a name lover, and I love the name Coraline. It's so different, but similar enough to Caroline. Kind of like how Mica is similar to Mike.
  • It was based off of a Nick Gaiman book, and has the same director (Henry Selick) as The Nightmare Before Christmas. Dakota Fanning and Teri Hatcher both are voices in the film. I have always been a fan of Dakota Fanning, and was hoping she'd be one of those actresses that kept on acting.
  • It has such neat visuals and really takes the viewer in to feel like you are one of the characters.
  • If you haven't seen the film, you need to with an open mind.
  • The only sucky thing is that I have to give it back to my student.

This Looks Like Daddy's Kind of Show

  • We were watching the tail end of Wheel of Fortune. The next show was a football game.
  • Mica said, "This looks like Daddy's kind of show Mommy".

Daddy Better Stop Running in the House!

  • I was telling Mica today that I'm nervous about putting a Christmas tree up this year. He told me, "Ya, only Mommy's get that way". He didn't ask why I felt this way?
  • I went on to tell him, "I'm nervous because I think Isaak will destroy the ball ornaments on the tree".
  • Mica told me, "I'll keep Isaak away from the tree Mommy. I'll also tell Daddy to stop running in the house, so that he doesn't run into the tree". Silly boy!

Vampire Toddler

  • Isaak barely took a nap today. I tried laying him down twice, and he woke up poopy both times.
  • He's been naughty this evening.
  • He threw his food at dinner.
  • He also came up and bit my leg.

Scrumptious Saturday

  • Mica was in the kitchen helping me make cookies.
  • Of course he couldn't get enough of the dough.
  • I better watch out, knowing our luck he'll get Salmonella.

Maukilo Giveaway

  • A Giveaway Addicted Mommy is giving away a $25 gift certificate to Maukilo toy store. Jolly Mom is giving away a $50 gift certificate. Both sites I love!
  • At first I was thinking, "What could I possibly get for $25 at a high end toy store"?
  • I started looking around, and saw a lot of things I could get.
  • Posted above are Mini Automoblox Cars for $9.99 each. I thought, "That would be fun to get Mica"!
  • Then I looked around for Isaak and found these fun balls made by Crocodile Creek for $5.75.
  • This is just what I found for my boys.
  • They have room decor items, lunch boxes, play food and so much more!
  • Enter at A Giveaway Addicted Mommy and Jolly Mom to win!

Baby Food Madness Comes to an End

  • This is a cool product giveaway. I had to blog about it. Two of a Kind is giving away a Beaba Babycook that is made by Scandinavian Child.
  • I would of loved this product when I was making food for Isaak. It not only processes the food, but steams it as well! That is so awesome!
  • Then all you have to do is freeze the extra in my favorite Orka ice cube trays.

Too Much For a Christmas Postcard, But I Love the Expressions on Their Faces!

  • It was shower time. Isaak found a hat on his floor in his room and wanted to wear that.
  • So...he was runny around in the buff and wearing a hat.
  • I handed Mica his hat.
  • These are a few shot we got. LOL

Charlie Brown Put into New Balance Shoes

  • My Organized Chaos is giving away a pair of New Balance Charlie Brown shoes.
  • They have: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
  • Enter to win!

Putting Himself in Timeout

  • Isaak hit me and I warned him that if he did hit me again, he'd get a timeout.
  • Isaak walked away, and about a minute later I heard him fussing.
  • Daddy realized that Isaak put himself in timeout.
  • Silly one year old.

The Pencil Song

  • Since Mica is having trouble holding his pencil, I googled assisting kids to overcome this problem.
  • I ran across this song that Mica can listen to.

Favorite Snack Lately

  • The boys and I are hooked on The Snack Factory Deli Style Pretzel Crisps dipped in Hummus all from Costco.
  • I also like Stacy's Simply Naked Pita Chips dipped in Hummus.
  • Grandma and Grandpa Spiehs got us hooked on the pretzel crisps.
  • Daddy has always been a pretzel junkie. LOL

School District

  • Mica finally went to see the school district today for an evaluation. The thing that we've been trying to schedule since the fall.
  • He's getting better with his hand strength, but his teachers expressed that he's had some muscle problems in his hand. He really just doesn't bare down when holding a crayon.
  • The teacher up at the school he went to today said that he's above on most of their tests. He does hold a crayon awkwardly, and we have to work with him on the grasp.
  • I guess he holds small/short crayons/pencils the right way because he has no choice; there isn't room to grab it the way that's comfortable to him. He grabs long crayons/pencils the incorrect way.

Dinosaur, Not For Show and Tell

  • My sister Terra and brother-in law Tyson just got done taking their kids to the T-Rex Cafe in Kansas City. They loved it! Each kid got to build a dinosaur. I happened to like my nephew Evan's Wolly Mammoth better then my nephew Elijah's Super Hero Triceratops. Mica played with the Super Hero Triceratops all morning long.
  • I told Even that he should take his Wolly Mammoth to Show and Tell for preschool. He said, "No I can't". I asked him why he couldn't? He said, "Because it's not a toy".
  • I guess since stuffed animals do not have batteries to do something, they are not considered toys in a preschooler's mind. LOL

Hide and Seek

  • I forgot to post about this last week...Daddy decided to hide from the boys without telling them he was hiding.
  • Evan my 4 year old nephew was daring Mica to go downstairs to look for Travis. Mica was too afraid to go downstairs for some reason. He's not typically afraid of things.
  • Daddy heard them look in closets, in the bathroom and all the rooms upstairs. The whole time Daddy was in the shower.
  • Daddy finally decided to call the boys from his cell phone to the main line. No one answered. He called again and left a message saying, "Mica and Evan, I'm in the shower".
  • Then they came running in to find Daddy/Uncle Travis.

Another Long Week

  • I taught today and teach tomorrow.
  • Tonight I went back into work for Career Explorers.
  • I'm sure I'll be tired tomorrow night.
