Sing, Sing a Song Saturday is all about me discovering something that is different. I don't want to post things that you and I have more than likely heard before. I want to find something different. It could be from another country, someone singing from the streets of NY, and more.

I found a new band that I've never hear of this week called Bombay Bicycle Club are an English indie rock band from Crouch End, London, consisting of Jack Steadman, Jamie MacColl, Suren de Saram and Ed Nash. Steadman, MacColl and de Saram met at age 15, and began playing under the name The Canals.

Random Tid Bits

1. This week is review week, and the time when last projects are due. Next week is finals time. It's super busy where I work. I have teacheritis. It's kind of like senioritis, but for teachers. I just want it to be done, and over with. The stress of who's going to pass, who's not trying is getting to me.


2. Mica has a jiu-jitsu tournament on Saturday. Sensei says it will last no longer than an hour and a half. I'm thinking it will last way longer then that. Last year there was a lot less people. It was only supposed to last a few hours, and went most of the day. I seriously thought they should have taken a break for lunch. You can expect kids to preform well when they aren't fueled up. It was the first year they did it though. I just think they under estimate their time.


3. I've lost 20 pounds now.


4. Isaak has a different friend that he talks about each week. This last week all I heard was, "Breanna" this and "Breanna" that. He made a few pictures for her. Then she made a few pictures for him. It's hard enough for me to get rid of little man's papers (he wants to keep everything). Now he wants to keep Breanna's drawings. Isaak says, "We're BFFs." I just shake my head.






5. I wonder if all elementary teachers save most of the field trips to happen at the end of the year? Both of my boys have had many. The whole school went to a baseball game, Kindergarten through 2nd grade went to the park, there is field day, and Isaak's class is going to the farm. Trying to remember all of them is maddening. I'm not good with stuff like that! That's the part of me that's glad I only have 2 kids. Next year I have to take note to have plenty of loose cash around for all these field trips.

Outcome:

• I've never used any mud products at all. Part of me has wanted to try mud masks, but I haven't. 

• I expected this shampoo to be thick, but it's not. 

• The shampoo did make my hair feel oh so soft! I wasn't expecting it to suds up. Many natural shampoos do not. 

• I love how a little seems to go a long way! 

• I looked at the ingredients, and it does have sulphates in it. Daddy has no problem with sulphates, but I do. He's using the rest of the bottle. 

• It is a great product for anyone with a dry flaky scalp.

Trimming Catcher:

I love that this catches the trimmings. I like not having clippings all over the floor, or furniture when I'm done trimming my or the boy's nails. There is a metal piece that slides back and forth to catch what you are trimming.

Who is the Target Market?

The target market is for adults. It's too big for my kid's nails. I think it's great for toe nails. It would be really great for people with back, and/or neck problems. That extended handle makes it nice, so you don't have to reach so far.

Date Night at Blue Barn Theater

In between a new baby in the family, a friend birthday party, a project that Daddy's working on called the Flock House, getting a new refrigerator, and Mothers Day we managed to sneak in a date night this last weekend.

I won tickets $50 value from the blog Oh My Omaha! to see 33 Variations By: Moises Kaufman at Blue Barn Theater.

I had no idea what to expect. I had never been to that theater before. 

Daddy and I liked all the artwork, and posters in the lobby. Blue Barn Theater is a supporter of the arts, and we love art.

The show its self was about Beethoven, and a modern day family where the Mom was studying Beethoven's music. There were 2 stories going, and then the stories started to collide. 

The modern day mom was dying of Lou Gehrig's Disease, and wanted to get her study of Beethoven done. Her daughter couldn't understand why she couldn't just focus on her health.  

Beethoven was going deaf, and the people in his life wondered why he just couldn't publish what he had done. He never seemed to get done with his work. He wanted to finish.

We really enjoyed the play. Daddy related to the message of the play a lot. I can't imagine having to know all those lines. In a movie they do a scene, or two a day. For a musical, or play they do everything at once.

My students do campaigns for non profit organizations. I'll be adding Blue Barn Theater to their list. 

There is only one thing about theaters that I've never understood. That is bathroom breaks. They always want you to wait until intermission to use the bathroom. On the diet I'm on I have to drink a ton of water. Waiting to use the bathroom...I felt like a kid that's potty training. The Blue Barn Theater doesn't have a bathroom in the lobby. We had to wait awhile to get into the theater, then was able to use the bathroom. That sounds silly, but that's the only downside to the theater in my book.

WW: A New Cousin Arrived {Linky}

My sister had her baby early Saturday morning. His name is Edison Robert, but his brother that's 6 and Isaak both call him Ederson. He's already developed the nickname Edders. This is baby #2 welcomed in our extended family this month. We have 1 more due soon.

Isaak said, "Really Mica, Edison's head is 14 feet?!" Really his head is 14 inches, which I guess is big. My boys had tiny heads.

 Just a shot of Edison with his reddish hair. I think it will be strawberry blondish. It's hard to tell because their hair color changes. Once a red head, usually always a red head.

My sister AKA Aunt Terra, and Brother-in-law AKA Uncle Tyson. They have Emerson (2 1/2) that wouldn't sleep Friday night along with Edison. They have 2 more kids that aren't even on the bed: Evan (9) and Elijah (6) that weren't at the hospital at the time. Boy will their hands be full! Big families are hard, but one with a special needs son is even harder.

I have to say that they were so lucky. The night after they left the hospital there was severe thunderstorm. Where the hospital is was hit the worst.

Travis AKA Daddy gets depressed easily. Lately there has been a lot of pressure on him. His titles seem to be growing.
