Food For Thought

  • The last few meals Isaak hasn't wanted to finish his last two bites of food on his plate.
  • I have a secret trick that works with some toddlers.
  • To get them to finish their food just say, "Ok if you don't want your food Mommy will eat it."
  • Twice Isaak replied, "No my food!" He ate his food up like it was going out of style.

No Puppy!

  • I was listening to Isaak talk before nap time.
  • He was laying in his bed saying, "No my puppy! No my puppy! No my puppy!"
  • He was arguing with himself.

This Week at the Grocery Store

  • Last week it was Fiber Plus Cereal that Mica wanted.
  • This week it was Granny Smith Apples. Only he called them, "Granny Sment Apples."
  •  I said, "What kind of fruit shall we get?"
  • He said, "Granny Sment Apples!"
  • I said, "How do you know about Granny Smith Apples Mica?"
  • He said, "We did a taste test at preschool. I liked Granny Sment Apples."

  • I bought a few Granny Smith Apples for my growing boy. ;)
  • He was happy. :)
  • For some reason just saying all that reminded me of The Giving Tree.  If you have never read that book do.
  • It will make you both sad, and happy at the same time.

Livin' in a Box

Mica and cousin Evan. I'm not sure what the orange construction cone is all about.
Isaak and cousin Elijah in a box. They had pillows, stuffed animals and a steering wheel inside this box.

ATG Stores

  • Kiddies Corner Deals hosting a giving away for a $75 gift card to ATG Stores.
  • The first thing I thought was, "WOW" they have a lot of selection. It would be great to win this to put it towards Christmas gifts.
Isaak would love any of their Melissa and Doug full sized dogs.
Mica would like any of their building sets.
Daddy and I have thought about getting a juicer.

  • There is seriously something for everyone at their stores!
  • If you get lost with all of their choices they have a person that can help you on their live chat!

I'm a Guest

  • Felicia from Go Graham Go just had a baby boy! I big congrats goes out to her family.
  • I really do enjoy reading her blog a lot.
  • She mentioned that she needed some people to write some posts, and I've written three.
  • The third one just got up, so check it out! ;)

Slogan

  • Mica wanted to show off his Toy Story characters for Show and Tell at preschool.
  • He said, "Mommy I'll let them know that Aunt Angela got these for me, and we got these at Gordmans Something Unexpected."
  • If you do not have a Gordmans it's a lot like TJ Max or Marshalls. It has a little bit of everything. Hence their slogan, "Something Unexpected."

PowerCapes

  • Our Kids Mom is giving away a PowerCape
  • You get to customize the cape if you win!
  • I think both of my boys would love a cape!

Watches

  • Isaak had to wear two watches all afternoon.
  • It was hard getting a good photo of him with his watches on.
  • I had to give the photo some effects to look good.

What I Did Today

Morning
  • I took the day off. I have no students this week, and it's Daddy's weekend. He has his weekend in the middle of the week, so that we don't have to send the kids to daycare.
  • Daddy now has my cold that I had a few weeks ago
  • I was super busy!
  • I gave the boy's a shower this morning. Did two full loads of laundry. Our two nephews got dropped off. Daddy fed them, I did the dishes, and ran the dishwasher
  • We went together to drop our nephew Evan off to kindergarten. Then drove to drop off Mica at preschool. We took the toddlers to Hobby Lobby. I love their 40% off coupons. I printed off two of them, so Daddy could use one and I could use the other. I know that's probably not right, but I confess, that's what I did.
  • We went home and I sucked up leaves out of our driveway, while Daddy and the toddlers played in the backyard. I soaked the leaves in water, and put them under two trees (great mulch)!
Lunch Time
  • Then I picked up Mica. We came home, and I made lunch
  • After lunch I put away the laundry and unloaded the dishwasher.
After Lunch
  • Then Elijah and I went to go pick up Evan at kindergarten. He got off at 1:00 today. Elijah fell asleep as soon as I started up the car. While I was waiting I called my doctor to see if I could get in to get a flu shot. They said anytime. I decided since I was out, I'd take my nephews to the doctor with me to get a flu shot
  • At the doctor's office Evan grabbed a children's book to look at, and Elijah sifted through the magazines to find something that had sports on it. Sports Illustrated was the choice of my 2 year old nephew. Then Elijah freaked out when we went back in the exam room. He thought we were there for him. I convinced him it was ok; just Aunt Lissy (my nickname) was going to get a good for me shot.
  • We went home. We got Isaak, Elijah and Mica down for a nap. Daddy went outside to mow the front yard. Evan and I made chocolate cake, and sugar cookie's. All the goodies are for my Halloween costume. I'm dressing up to be a baker. I'm going to have goodies on a plate for my students all day.
  • None of the boy's would sleep. We finally got Isaak to go down. The other boy's watched Beauty and the Beast. While the boy's watched their movie, I rolled out the cookie dough, and began cutting out oak leaves and acorns
  • Daddy got snacks for the boy's.
  • Uncle Tyson came to pick up his boy's.
Dinner Time
  • I made dinner
  • While the dinner was in the oven I crushed up the chocolate cake, added chocolate frosting and used my smallest scoop to make them into 1/2 circles. They are in the freezer now. I will some other day dip them in orange candy melts.
Bedtime
  • Then it was time to get the boy's ready for bed. Mica went potty and peed on his pant's. Daddy stepped in Mica's puddle of pee when he was getting the tooth brushes.
  • We put the boy's down a half hour early.
  • Daddy cut his hair, and messed it up for the first time since we've been married. Don't try to cut your hair when you're sick and mad.
  • Now we're chillin'.

Fall Leaves - Picture Time

  • Mica got his picture's taken this summer, so it was Isaak's turn to get his picture's taken.
  • I decided to get leaves from our driveway to take with us. Isaak had a whole lot of fun throwing them in the studio. It was hard getting him to hold still.
  • I think they turned out good though!

It's hard to pick just one. I had a coupon to get six sheets for $9.99 at Picture People.

Toddler Burrito

  • Isaak wants his stuffed animals wrapped up like a baby burrito.
  • I asked him today if he wanted me to wrap him up like a burrito? He of course did.

Melt Down

  • Awe yes, a parent's favorite part of parenthood; major melt downs!
  • Isaak had two this weekend.
  • He's entered a new stage in his childhood. The melt down stage.

  1. We were at the grocery store. Isaak got a sample of pizza. He kept trying to give it to me. He said, "I don't want this Mommy!" I said, "Isaak if you give me your sample because you do not want it I will eat it." He handed it to me again. I ate it. He flipped! Oh the tears were running, and he would not let it go!
  2. I was in the kitchen. Isaak wanted something to eat before dinner. He's like a dog that begs. I said, "Do you want a carrot?" He said, "Yes!" I proceeded to cut the carrot to give to him. He was crying hard for 30 minutes because he wanted the whole carrot, and not one cut into pieces. I grabbed my camera to capture this melt down. He ran into the other room. It was like he knew exactly what I was trying to do. I went into the room he was in, and he ran back into the kitchen.

A Rare Moment!

  • Isaak still doesn't watch TV often.
  • I'm fine with this.
  • I just captured a rare moment of Isaak and Mica watching TV.

Fiber Plus

  • I took the boy's to the grocery store this weekend.
  • Mica spotted on an end cap a box of Fiber Plus Cereal. He said, "Fiber Plus Cereal! We have to have it mom!"
  • I have no idea where my 5 year old heard about Fiber Plus Cereal. I remember being excited about Lucky Charms, or Fruit Loops when I was 5 years old. I never got excited about Special K, or any other cereal advertised as being healthy.
  • Mica gets excited about Fiber Plus Cereal. Such a funny kid!
