Shopping With the Boy's

  • We went shopping tonight. There are some times that shopping is better then others for our kiddo's. The evening isn't one of those times. They were bouncing off the walls.
  • I told Daddy, "I'll take one kid, while you take the other. Then they won't feed off of each other."
  • The whole time I shopped with Isaak he fussed for Daddy.
  • When Mica came into the dressing room with me he said in his LOUD voice, "Mommy you're going to get naked!"
  • The lady in another dressing room laughed.
  • I said, "Zip it!" I don't know how many times.
  • Yep...shopping with them during the day is much better.

This Makes Me Want to Spend More Time With My Kids ;)

The School I Work For Got a New Website

  • I work for a college art school called the Creative Center.
  • They got a new website that one of my graduate students worked on.
These are all the things the intro Flash page does:
  1. You can make paint squirt
  2. The pencil draws
  3. The computer desktop changes what's up on the computer
  4. The Red Bull spills
  5. Chips get eaten
  6. A lizard sticks out his tongue to catch a fly
  7. The Viewbook flips
  8. The folder spills out documents
  9. The phone vibrates
  10. The keys beep
  11. The paint mixes on the palette
  12. Loose change clings
  13. Red pen circles careers in the newspaper
It's pretty fun. Check it out here.
Of course if you click on any of the words it takes you into the site.

Our Own Kobe Japanese Steakhouse Apel Style

  • Daddy told me that we were having a special dinner on Wednesday night.
  • I walked in to a living room that looked like this:

  • Pillows were on the floor to kneel and eat.
  • Chopsticks were on our square plates.
  • Mica played his part in setting the mood. He did his version of Kung Fu Fighting! I know it's Chinese, but he doesn't know the difference. I'm going to try shooting this during the day. The lighting isn't very good.

  • We had Kobe Japanese Steakhouse Apel style.
  • Without the fire and less grease.
  • It was indeed yummy!!!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday - In a Pop Up Tent

  • The boy's playing in their pop up tent. They had a few of their toy's they got for Christmas in with them.
  • Mica loves his super hero cape, Isaak thinks his is a blanket. He'll catch on soon enough I hope. ;)

CSN | Stores Product Review

CSN | Stores contacted me for another product review. They have so much to choose from! They have everything from kid toy's to most anything for your home.

This time I picked out a night light for Isaak's room. I've been looking for a night light for awhile. In every local store I checked out their selection of night lights; they were limited! The night light's I did find were not fun at all.

CSN | Stores had a night light made by Oxo called Candela Roomi. It can be purchased for $29.99. They also make a sweet rocket night light called Candela Zoom, which can be found at CSN | Stores as well!
There are two sections of this night light:
  1. A LED night light, which gets plugged in anywhere. I've plugged ours into the hallway, and I've tried out Isaak's room as well.
  2. The two sided house gets charged on the LED night light. It has an on and off switch on the bottom of it. It will stay on for 8 hours with a full charge.

A few things about this product:

Safe
  • My favorite feature is that the light is not a fire hazard
  • Safe for little fingers to touch
  • Safe-Care system that has no exposed electrical components
  • Auto-illuminates during a power outage or when lifted from the charger
  • Lead, BPA and phthalate free

Fun
  • It is soothing to have a light in the room
  • It can be used for both play and bedtime
  • The charger panel can stay lit at all times and acts as a nightlight

Rechargeable
  • On a full charge it the house stays lit for up to 8 hours
  • Rechargeable cost-efficient light, which decreases the need to buy batteries frequently
  • LED technology eliminates the need to change bulbs frequently

Positives:
  • Isaak loves his new night light! When I tuck him into bed he asks for his house.
  • The house sits up on top of his dresser to ease his fear of the dark.
  • I love that there are two lights in one. The long lasting battery is awesome!

A few things I wish this product would have:
  • I wish the house was a little bit brighter.
  • I was hoping there was a clicking or locking device when the house charges up. Little curious fingers try to pull the house off of the charger.
  • This product was back ordered. I was hoping I'd get it in time to put it in Isaak's stocking; it just didn't happen. I did have to wait a few months for it, but it was worth the wait. CSN | Stores is known for their fast shipping. I've never had to wait long for anything else from them.

Please take some time to visit CSN | Stores! They do have such a great selection.

Omaha Performing Arts Brought Holiday Cheer to Customers at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska

  • We had a mall shooting go on December 5, 2007. It was a horrible day to hear that one young man/some would say he was a boy shot and killed 9 people {including himself}, and wounded 4.
  • I was pregnant at the time with Isaak. I cried all day. I felt so sorry for all the families involved, including ones that were at the mall and didn't get hurt at all. How scary that must of been!
  • I know it happens, but I couldn't imagine losing a family member during Christmas season.
  • One of the victims that past was someone that only worked their during Christmas to help wrap packages. My younger sister was friends with her daughter all during high school. She had 2 small children and my sister's friend that was a young adult. I felt so bad for those girls to be raised without a mom! They wouldn't have a mom to be there for them during their wedding day, to see their children for the first time and much more that Mom's and Daughter's share. The Dad looked lost in the interviews.
  • The video above is to commemorate the anniversary of the mall shooting.
  • On December 18, 2010, Omaha Performing Arts brought holiday cheer to customers at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska when the Omaha Symphonic Chorus, Voices of Omaha and other musical friends joined in.
  • I know stuff like this has been done, but it's extra special at this place to bring joy after something so horrible happened!

No Diaper's, Both Good and Bad

  • Isaak's gone with no diapers/Pull-Ups for a few days now. He was dry for about 4 days straight. A few days with Pull-Ups.
  • He asked for no diapers. I'm a firm believer that we should follow our kids cues. Such as if they throw their binki out of their crib, it's time to take it away.
  • I was feeling really good about Isaak not wanting to wear a diaper.
  • Then BAM yesterday he wanted nothing to do with training. He had a couple accidents. Ran from me to hide when it was time to try to go potty. He had the Mommy smirk on his face.
  • He woke up today during a nap in poopy underwear.
  • Daddy's wondering if we're pushing him too hard. I think Isaak just gets lazy, and doesn't want to go.
  • He wakes up crying sometimes, and goes potty during those times. Then there was another time where I went to check him, he was fast asleep, his underwear was soaked and he was cold. I felt sorry for him.
  • It is hard to know what to do.
  • Isaak's been easier then Mica in some regards. I have to say that Mica was much easier with potty training then Isaak.

Di-et

  • Isaak keeps saying the word, "Di-et."
  • I know he's not going on a diet.
  • He's been saying the word for weeks now.
  • Mica said last week, "He's saying 'Not yet' Mommy."

Hot Wheels

  • I was in the kitchen. Isaak had just gotten done helping me make blueberry muffins from scratch. He was a great helper by the way.
  • I moved on to the meat part of the meal, and said, "Isaak can you take care of your Hot Wheels that are in the middle of the floor. I don't want to step on them."
  • Isaak took his cars and pushed them under the ledge of the kitchen counter. Not really my idea of taking care of his cars.
  • I have to give him points for thinking outside the box, and helping me prior to the car incident.

Wrestle

  • The boy's love wrestling.
  • Usually no one gets hurt.
  • The lighting was horrible.
  • Mica gets pretty serious when he wrestles.

The Wrong Sweater

  • I gave the boy's a bath.
  • Mica got out first. I told him to get dressed while I finished cleaning and drying Isaak off.
  • I stepped out of the tub with Isaak. I took one look at Mica, and could not stop laughing!
  • Mica had Isaak's sweater on. His belly was showing, and the sleeves were ultra short!
  • I asked him if it felt odd? He said, "Well kind of, not really."
  • Then he had trouble getting it off. I helped him.
  • In Mica's defense, the shirts are identical except for size. It was just a funny site!

Woody is in a Dentist Chair

  • Mica had Woody in the Little People Mine.
  • The Mine was Woody's dentist chair.
  • Mica and Isaak's easel was near by. Mica grabbed some chalk to clean Woody's teeth. It rubbed right off.
  • I love when the kids use toys for something other then what they are meant for. Creativity at its best!
