Dental Tartar Scraper and Remover Set Review

I have a food trap in the back of my mouth. Sometimes I'll floss and floss, and I still can't get certain foods out of there. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's annoying when it does.

Recently I got a 3 piece stainless steel Dental Tartar Scraper and Remover Set to review. I know these tools will help get food out of my back teeth!

I can scrape away at my teeth in the comfort of my own home. I'll do this when I get food caught, between dental visits, and before going to the dentist. There's something about someone else scraping away at my teeth that I just don't care for. I'd rather do it on my own time. 

I can get tarter off my teeth, so no cavities occur. Thankfully I've only had 3 cavities in my whole life. That was all in one visit! I waited a few years to go to the dentist when I was in grad school. Since I've been clean of cavities. YAY These tools will help to! Preventative care is a must.

Out of the Box Saturday

It's all about me discovering something that is different. I don't want to post things that you and I have more than likely heard before. I want to find something different. I'll cover something sing | songy one week, and artsy | fartsy the next.

I was sent an email by Liquitex. They are an art supply company if you are unfamiliar with the name.

They were featuring an artist Will Barras. He is an London based artist. Will loves to travel. He exhibits and does live paintings. He works on street scene art. His work is interesting. It went right along with what I was talking about in class. I kept trying to explain to the students that you have to let yourself go, have fun, and be free to experiment. Then in the end you have to take the control back again to create what's in your mind.

I think after showing them his video the students now get what I'm talking about. The background is unified with the foreground as well.

Random Tid Bits

1. I've been hearing the student's complain about a teacher. I'd rather this information came out in his evaluations, or the students could complain to the higher ups, then I say anything. I haven't seen him sleeping in class. Supposedly he gets his two classes confused, and falls asleep in class.
   
   I was sitting in the break room, and the sleeping, confused teacher drifted off. I got up to get ready for class, and later was walking back towards the break room. The teacher woke up and said, "Oh why didn't you wake me up?" I said, "I would have. I'm not out of here yet." I was thinking, How is it my responsibility to wake your ass up? I really wouldn't of been so cruel to let him keep sleeping through his own class.


2. Picture day was last week. I let the boys pick out a few shirts, then we picked between them.
   
   Mica wanted to put his hair in a ponytail. We told him, "No!" It wasn't long enough. Mica said, "What should I wear for my pants?" I said, "It doesn't matter. All the photographer will photograph is your torso." Mica said, "But I want to look good for the ladies."
   
   Isaak said, "Can I wear a tie with my shirt for pictures?" I said, "I don't care." He comes out of his room with a snowman tie wrapped around his neck and said, "How about this one?" Travis and I both said, "No!" Mica said, "Isaak come on don't be tacky!"


3. Mica was selected to go to the zoo to study Lemurs. I guess only 2 people per class were selected in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Of course the girl that Mica likes was selected as well. Mica asked last night, "Can S come over to study Lemurs with me?" I said, "Why? Do you have to write a report? Do you have a quiz? What are you studying for?" He didn't know. I said, "Figure out what's expected of you first. I'll get books at the library on lemurs, I'll look up websites for you on them as well, and you can study them yourself. S can study them on her own."

4. Travis and I were talking about how we like a lot of Mica and Isaak's friend's parents, but we'd never choose to hang out with them if given a choice. Mica stopped our conversation and said, "Dad if you feel so strong about this I can give you Mrs. Axetell's name and number. She can spend some time talking with you." She's their school's councilor. 


5. Mica said, "Mom can I speak to you in private?" I said, "Ya what's up Mica?" Mica said, "Um I have candy in my pocket from my teacher. I don't want Isaak to know." I said, "Ok. Take the garbage out, and eat your candy outside afterwards." Mica said, "That sounds like a great plan Mom."
   
   When I heard, "Can I speak to you in private..." I thought it was going to be something a little more intense. I thought possibly he kissed the girl he likes.

What's something random that has happened to you this week, or last?

WW: Vala's Pumpkin Patch {Linky}

This weekend we decided to go to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. It's been a few years since we've gone, so it was really fun for us. We walk everywhere, and did most things.

They love to sell extras at the pumpkin patch. We caved and bought goat food. The goats weren't hungry at all. Everyone else caved to. 

Isaak loved it when I found a hat in his favorite color: Sparkly Gold. He even has the lip thing down.

Both boys were testy in the morning. So much so that we thought about turning around, skipping the patch all together, and going home. We were already on our way. The parents wanted some fun to. Most photos we got of the boys were awkward. In one Mica's body is tilted away from Isaak, in the other Mica looks like he has to pee (hands crossed, and legs together) and Isaak looks like he's thinking, Whatever let's get this photo over with already!

Travis and I were cracking up over his expression in this one. Can you tell he was fed up with the boys? 

Mica thought he was too old for the jump thing that is so much fun. The crazy thing is that they have a jump thing for adults, middle aged kids, and young kids. Anyway I ended up jumping with Isaak. The second time around I got on 2 punk kids that were trying to cut in line. I told them twice where the back of the line was. I wasn't putting up with anything that day!

Go Karts were super fun. Isaak can finally ride one himself. Mica moved up to the 10 + ones that ride faster. They both got stuck a few times, but it was fun!

Mica took a hold of the map, and insisted that he knew where he was leading us. Instead of getting to the corn maze...we walked almost all the way around it. 

Inside the maze our newbie navigators got us lost right away.

No worries we got out of the maze. 

Then the boys did an obstacle course. Isaak touched the ground, so he had to start over again. Dad did it with them.

This topped my day. They were all getting done with the obstacle course. The kids were lined up to do the zip line. Travis was in the line to. No other parents were in line. It was only for kids. He got down and said, "I almost went on that thing. Then I realized it was for kids only. How come you didn't stop me?" I said, "Well there was a time when I stopped you from getting an ice cream bar at the kid's school. You got mad at me because I embarrassed you. I figured I'd let you embarrass yourself this time." 

Could you imagine a full grown adult male on this thing?

Watercolor Paint Set Review

It's been a long time, since I've painted with watercolors. One thing I do like about them is that I waist a lot less paint. I don't have to worry about them drying out when I paint with them. If they dry out I can just add more water.

I got a Watercolor Paint Set to review. The set costs $27.97, but is on sale for $17.97. I do wish that they raise the cost a little bit, and add a better brush. I love the color variety though!

Here's what it looks like with all the colors out: 

I started out with an thin acrylic wash. Then went in with watercolor, and added course salt to the wet watercolor in some spots. I also sewed thread around Africa, and the giraffe's fringe, and eyelashes. 

 

I still have to add more shadows and highlights. Overall it's close to being done. The image is mine. I photographed those giraffes. :) 

I like the watercolor. It had a wide variety of vibrant colors. I love the added white. With the technique I used with putting a wash of acrylic down first I need that watercolor white. 

This set is great for newbie artists, or professional artists. The trays come out, and stay in. I think I'm going to share this set with Isaak, since the trays are removable. It's easy to carry if I'm doing a demo at school.
