Sing, Sing a Song Saturday

I started doing what I call Sing, Sing a Song Saturday.  I'm going to post one song on Saturdays that the boys or I like.

The song may be part of a movie, a kid's video or just a song we like. I'll try and include why we like it and/or the history of the song/singer.

I've always like the singer, song writer Kate Bush. She started in the 80s. She sang a song with Peter Gabriel called Don't Give Up. She was backed by Pink Floyd and even sang Comfortably Numb with David Gilmore on stage. She had a hit song in the movie called, She's Having a Baby staring Kevin Bacon called, This Woman's Work that still to this day makes me cry.

She never made a come back in the US. She had a child Bertie, and wanted to be a Mom for awhile. I don't blame her. Being a mom is so important! Guess what? She did make a come back in the UK.

Here's a song she titled after her son Bertie. This was featured on an album that came out called, Aerial. This album was released in 2005.

Just in 2011 she came out with an album called, 50 Words For Snow. Elton John sang one of the songs on the album called, Snowed in at Wheeler Street. He didn't hear the song before he decided to sing with Kate Bush. I didn't feature this song because there isn't a video for it yet. She wanted her songs to be long; to be able to tell a story within the song.

Here's a new song called, Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe.

The next video is called, Among Angels.

I used to listen to Kate Bush, but then I forgot all about her. Thanks for the reminder - I am going to listen to some of her stuff right now.

My husband was just sending me David Gilmore videos last night (from You Tube).

The last Kate Bush video you have is really cool, it's like reading a story book, isn't it?

Merry Christmas Eve-Eve. :)

I think this is the first I have ever heard of her. You are educating me on music.
