It's pretty good! I like it, but I hate the font on the packaging.
Buttermilk Waffles:
- Preheat waffle maker.
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Mix wet ingredients together.
- Making you own Buttermilk: We rarely have Buttermilk on hand, so I often make our own. It's 1/2 a tablespoon of lemon juice to one cup of milk. In this case I just used one tablespoon of lemon juice even though it was not two full cups of milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes before you mix it in. You can use plain Greek yogurt instead of milk. The really running stuff that sits on top of yogurt sometimes is great to use to make Buttermilk.
We had spinach leaves, an egg, and a banana with our breakfast. Mica kept sneaking more waffles.

Ohhhh, these look good! I use to make buttermilk pancakes but had never done the waffles. I like that you put the almond extract in there. I need to try that.
Mmm, sounds like a great breakfast. I've never heard of that syrup, is it only sold locally?
@ Sandy it is good!
@Danielle We bought the syrup in Wall Drug, South Dakota, while we were on vacation. I bet if you google it you can find some to buy. :) My Dad has a Prickly Pear, I should ask to snip some off to make some syrup someday.
So certain I could sit down and love this for breakfast. :)
Never heard of this kind of syrup, but I would totally give it a try! I agree, the front of the packaging isn't very cool. Makes it look a little generic lol.
We get our syrup from Vermont (it can be found easily here in Ma, though - we don't have to drive up to VT to get it) and it's way better than anything you get on the shelf at the supermarket.
I have never tried prickly pear syrup. Interesting.
have never heard of this syrup... bet it is great ;)
I would try that syrup if there was no sugar in it. It looks so good.
