Scratch-Off Interactive World Map Review

Mica has always enjoyed maps. He knew his state capitols by the time he was four. I'm really happy to review a Scratch-Off Interactive World Map by Info-Glob.

Isaak on the other hand is more like me, geography isn't his thing. One thing that Isaak does love is scratchboard. Maybe this map is a way to get Isaak to like geography.

The map came in a tight roll. It was good because it was well protected, but hard to get it flattened out to review it. Travis reverse rolled it to get it flat.

I love how they had a piece of tissue paper within the roll to protect it from getting unwanted scratches on it.

Inside the tube is a scratchboard tool that can be used on the map + other scratchboard pieces.

A compass came in the tube as well.

This set would be great for people that love to travel, have a bucket list to go places, an interest in maps, or love scratchboard.

I think this going to be a family gift considering that Mica enjoys maps and Isaak gets into scratchboard. The gold is what can be scratched off. Mica scratched off a bit of Hawaii. I really like the quality of this print. It's fun scratching the gold foil off. I could see hanging it up as is too.

Cost: This Scratch-Off Interactive World Map is $27.97. It is on Prime, so if you're a Prime member shipping is free.

Disclaimer: I got this product for a discounted price in exchange for an honest review.

WW: Railroad Days {Linky}

Railroad Days was in July. I kept wanting to post about it, but things got busy, then I switched memory sticks, and well you get the picture.

Taken at Durham Western Heritage Museum.

I know a lot of cities have Railroad Days. I really have to say that the one in Omaha and Council Bluffs rocks! It's $15 for a whole family to get in. That includes 5 stops to different museums, and transportation to all of them. We ran into a super nice lady that gave us a pass for our family to get in for free!

When we first walked in to Lauritzen Gardens they have an elaborate model train set up.

We walked all over Lauritzen Gardens. What can I say Isaak was going through a dramatic phase with getting his photo taken.

Isaak did love some craft time. This year I helped him make a train bandana. It was so much better than the train whistle that annoyed Travis the year before.

Lauritzen Gardens is so beautiful!

There's a tiny waterfall area. We live miles from a real one, so I'll take what I can get.

One of the best stops is an outdoor model train of our city.

I love the tranquil spot though.

I love the reflection in this next photo.

Do you have a Railroad Days where you live?

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod

Do you remember the poem, Wynken, Blynken, and Nod? I only remembered the name of the poem. That's what I thought about with the name of this post.

Mr. Mica started this thing where he blinked excessively when he was in Kindergarten. His doctor said that some kids get tics. They often times grow out of it.

He did grow out of it. Now at age 11 it's started back up again.

It's not a blinking just when he's tired thing.

I asked him if anything is bothering him, and told him that if anything is in fact bothering him that he should let us know. Nothing seems to be bothering him. I believe him when he tells me that. Mica's an open book kind of kid that really has no filter. Last year when a girl liked him, gave him things, and he didn't like her back he told me EVERYTHING.

It could be allergies. I have them big time, and my boys do get them too.

It could be nothing, or it could be something. I kind of feel like we should do our parent duty, and have his blinky problem looked into.

I made the mistake of googling it. Loads of problems came up.

I put in a message to his doctor's office on Friday night; just to be on the safe side. I got the giggles when I started typing, "My son blinks a lot..." I said, "Travis please take over because I don't even know what to say." It just sounded really funny. Travis made it sound good.

We also notice that he squints when watching TV.

The doctor's office responded with, "Dr. Harrison should see him."

I was looking more for the response, He'll need to see an Opthamologist. Here are a few sources: ...

Don't get me wrong I love Dr. Harrison, but he's not an eye doctor.

I called this morning, left a message saying everything + leaving Travis' number. My phone works horrible at my work. Reception in general is bad at my work.

The doctor's office called me back. When I couldn't answer they called Travis.

It's as if they didn't listen to my message at all. Travis had to repeat everything I said. Then the nurse said, "I'll have to run this all by Dr. Harrison to see what he has to say."

We're stuck in blinky limbo land with the doctor's office.

Have you ever had eyesight, or eye problems?

Inflatable-Zone Fun

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.

Every time I look at someone in an inflatable product I smile because it looks so fun! Inflatable-Zone has been around since 2008. They are a true leader in their market.

One product that really stood out to me is Water Blob!

I've never seen anything like Water Blob. It's an inflatable jumping air bag blob. It would be so much fun on a river. It's set on water.

One person can jump up and down. They can try to stay on the Water Blob, but will fall off into the water.

More than one person can be on it. If one person jumps full force onto it, while other people are close to the edge of the Water Blob, the people close to the edge will go flying into the air. No worries, they'll land in the water.

It's for ages 7 and up. I can see why. Little tiny kids may not have the force to jump enough, or the skills to swim out from under the Water Blob.

I want to play on this Water Blob!

Size:

As you can see from the picture above it's pretty big: 8mm in length and 3mm in width. It does go down in size to store it.

Material:

I always worry about the material in inflatable things getting holes in them. Inflatable Zone has products that are made with thick PVC. It's much more durable than the standard water toys that you can get at a store. They do have a 1 year warranty just in case mishap were to happen.

Cost:

It's $769. It may seem like a lot. Just consider how many birthday parties, and gatherings you could have. It would more than pay for its self. Taxes are added on, but shipping is free. Get this...a printed logo can be added if you choose to add one. How cool is that?!

Another product that sell an Air Pump for Inflatable Bouncer and/or Waterslide.

This would make blowing up any inflatable so much easier. I always tell my students and kids, "Think smarter, not harder!" The Air Pump allows anyone to blow up something fast and easy.

Cost:

It's $199. They do have a 1 year warranty for this as well.

Check out Inflatable-Zone for more things! Some of the variety that they sell includes:

  • Bubble Soccer
  • Water Game
  • Zorb Ball
  • Inflatable Bouncer
  • Inflatable Slide
  • Inflatable Game
  • Inflatable Tent
All the photos of on their site of people playing in inflatable things just makes me smile.

What would you like to have that's inflatable?

Live Paintings

I really love performance art that I can understand. Ha! There is sometime performance art that is so out there, that even I with a twisted mind can't get. This one was too cool to not share.

WW: Loose Park {Linky}

When we go to Kansas City we always try to find a few spots where the boys can just run around. We decided to stop off at Loose Park. Prior to this time, I've never been there before. That was kind of surprising considering that it's walking distance to the Kansas City Art Institute where my husband and I went to school.

It's a very pretty park!

There are lots of flowers that were in bloom when we went.

There is a path that has more flowers.

They have a cactus garden.

A patch of weeping willow trees.

There's a pond with lots of ducks.

Do you have a favorite park that you like to go to? I think in Omaha, Nebraska we like to hike at Hummel Park.

I Kept Thinking...

  1. I kept thinking, My goodness that font behind them is horrible.

  2. Source
  3. I kept thinking, I can not get that Patrick Swayze song out of my head. Someone posted Patrick Swayze singing She's Like the Wind live on facebook. Of course both the song, and debate had to enter my dream last night. Donald was singing it to Hillary. His hair was blowing like the wind. Ha!

  4. I kept thinking, Mica really should go to bed, but he looks like he's amused with this debate. He stayed up an hour past his bedtime, and went to bed at 9.

  5. I kept thinking, This meme is really funny, but I should probably take it down. Someone defriended me on facebook before. It was because I posted something political. I don't post political things very much, like hardly ever. I left the meme on there last night, and took it off this morning.

  7. I kept thinking, Hillary isn't coughing. Really I sound just as bad as her a lot of the time. Trump isn't in that good of shape health wise either.
Did you watch the debates last night?
