Omaha Performing Arts Brought Holiday Cheer to Customers at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska

  • We had a mall shooting go on December 5, 2007. It was a horrible day to hear that one young man/some would say he was a boy shot and killed 9 people {including himself}, and wounded 4.
  • I was pregnant at the time with Isaak. I cried all day. I felt so sorry for all the families involved, including ones that were at the mall and didn't get hurt at all. How scary that must of been!
  • I know it happens, but I couldn't imagine losing a family member during Christmas season.
  • One of the victims that past was someone that only worked their during Christmas to help wrap packages. My younger sister was friends with her daughter all during high school. She had 2 small children and my sister's friend that was a young adult. I felt so bad for those girls to be raised without a mom! They wouldn't have a mom to be there for them during their wedding day, to see their children for the first time and much more that Mom's and Daughter's share. The Dad looked lost in the interviews.
  • The video above is to commemorate the anniversary of the mall shooting.
  • On December 18, 2010, Omaha Performing Arts brought holiday cheer to customers at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska when the Omaha Symphonic Chorus, Voices of Omaha and other musical friends joined in.
  • I know stuff like this has been done, but it's extra special at this place to bring joy after something so horrible happened!
