My mom (Grandma Spiehs) has surgery tomorrow. It's outpatient surgery. She had Polio not too long before the vaccine came out. Then it started attacking her body once again after she got married.
Here's her ankle that was fused awhile ago:
She had a hardware person in the room when she had surgery. Crazy!
Now her toes are turning under. They are putting pins in her toes to help them stay straight. Sounds painful to me!

Oh that really does sound painful. I hope she has a speedy recovery! My hubby's aunt has polio as well but hasn't had any surgeries like your grandmother has, yet.
Ouch!! I really feel bad for your Mom. Give her my best wishes. I had a Hip replacement many years ago and a revision about 6 or 7 years ago. NOT FUN
Once your Mom heals, I am sure it will be better than walking around with her toes folded under. Hope all goes well with the surgery. I am sure you will keep us up to date.
oh that hurts me to read... please know i just stopped and said a prayer for you and your family
hugs
I pray she has a speedy recovery.
Have a blessed weekend, A!
Oh that does sound painful! "Funny" 'cause I just emailed you to ask about your mom. I hope she recovers quickly and isn't experiencing too much pain.
Poor thing! She's in my prayers!
Alissa,
