Last Night We Went to the Outback

Outback Steak House that is. We took my parents out. The boys loved coloring before the meal. This is how Mica looks when he's coloring:

Yep his tongue hangs out. It looks funny! Especially since his tongue isn't straight.

For those that don't know, Mica was born with a cyst under his tongue at birth. One side was super thin. It's not thin any longer, but the line down the center veers off to one side. I'm just glad he eats and talks perfectly fine!

Coloring Fun

I printed off coloring sheets for the boys at Frecklebox.

Evan couldn't wait to color! He loves turtles; I was excited that they had an image with turtles on their site.

Mica likes to color to! He sticks his tongue out a lot when he colors. It's his concentration look.

Isaak seems to get into coloring. He just usually stick with only one or two colors. He doesn't color the whole image ever. Someday he will.

The coloring sheets were a hit with everyone except Cousin Elijah. He took his coloring image, turned it over and colored on the back. He wanted to be original. :)

Easy Peasy Valentine Coloring Book Pages

The company Frecklebox has free coloring book pages.  Since I have my newphew's Evan and Elijah coming to stay with me for a few days next week; I printed some out. I love how you can customize their names!

Also Little People by Fisher Price has printable cards you can print and color for free.

She Knows has all kinds of activities for kids. I like their Valentine coloring book pages again for free.

Coloring Inside the Lines

  • Mica colored his best picture yet. He colored mostly inside the lines.
  • I think it's important to color inside the lines then later on he can choose weather he wants to break those rules or not.
  • Up until now Mica's been pretty sloppy with coloring and writing. I know you can't see the picture very well, but it looked pretty good, and is hanging on our refrigerator now.
  • I also overheard Mica saying, "Wow...when I put yellow over red it makes orange"! I've been thinking about bringing a color wheel home from work to show and explain how color mixing works.
  • Mica's been really into watching this video from They Might Be Giants:
  • It's funny hearing a kid sing about Roy G Biv.
  • There is one mistake in the video that Daddy caught. They mixed colors indigo and violet up on the rainbow. Just look at the video and think about the spectrum, and you'll see the mistake too.
