Isaak made a cape for his doggie. That cape didn't exist before. He asked for tape and other things to make this doggie into a super dog.

I Need a Mommy Cape
Yesterday Isaak said in the car, "Mom your super hero shouldn't be 'Wonder Woman'."
I said, "Really what should it be?"
He said, "It should be 'Super Mom'."
Anyway that made me smile.
I'm surprised with all the super hero movies coming out, Wonder Woman hasn't been in one.
What's your favorite super hero?

Super Hero Mommy, Super Hero Isaak
Last week we were on a trip for a week. I've posted a few posts on our trip already, and plan on posting more. We did a lot of driving.
Mica mostly read.
Since Isaak's not a full blown reader, I had many activities for him.
One that surprised me is when he got his choice of a drink or snack at a gas station. He chose a juice bottle. After he drank it, he made a super hero out of the wrapper.
When the cap was up it was Super Hero Mommy. When the cap was down it was Super Hero Isaak.
He wished that we had string to tie it and fly it out the window.
I just thought it was so creative that he came up with this on his own.
He also enjoyed some window markers.

Emerson the Super Hero
I got this onesie for Cousin Emerson last year for his birthday. It still fits, sort of, gut and all. He just got done with his last chemo treatment last week. He'll get a scan soon to see it his tumors are gone. We're pretty sure that they are. His last scan showed that they were over 60% gone.
It's Trisomy Awareness month. Trisomy just means an extra of a chromosome. The most popular day that is celebrated in the month is on the 21st of this month. That's celebrating for Down Sydrome. Little Emerson will celebrate tomorrow. He has Trisomy 18, Edwards Syndrome.
Emerson doesn't sit up all the time alone. Here he is though:

Captain Underpants Really?
If you haven't been familiar with Captain Underpants here he is:
I have a love/dislike relationship with this super hero. I love that he got Mica into reading bigger books! I dislike that they spell things different, and have slang in the book. Our future generation gets enough silly abbreviations from texting. Like OMG!
Mica looks over at me last night and says, "Mom I could have a Captain Underpants party for my birthday? Wouldn't that be cool? I could wear my underwear over my pants, and have a super hero cape on."
I said, "Let's stick with Superman. If you want we could have a submarine party. You want to invent a new one anyway."
Mica, "Captain Underpants is better!"
I said, "Mica wearing your underwear outside your clothes might be embarrassing."
I do have to admit that making a cake with that strange super hero would be fun. Maybe we could do that for the family party. At least they know my humor. They know my children were bound to be strange like me. It's not like Mica will be running around with only underwear. It would be on the outside of his pants. We'd all get a good laugh. I could make a banner of whitey tighties. Family brace yourselves in August!

What to Get?
Cousin Emerson turns a year old towards the end of June. I'm trying to decide what to get him?!? We share almost the same birthday. Aunt Terra's due date was on my birthday. He's beat his odds. His little life has in no means been easy on everyone. He is however a very sweet, cuddly boy! The odds say that with Trisomy 18, only 10% of babies make it past the 1 year mark. He's almost there!
I know my sister is asking for her family and friends to bring money to donate to the SOFT organization. That is an organization to help support Trisomy 18. I'll do that. I want to get the little man something as well.
We have a lot of boy stuff. But I want something unique to Emerson.
I thought since his brothers and my sons are so into superheros one option is this Super Baby Romper with his name on it. Emerson is his brother's super hero.
Another option is to get him something to help him with his physical therapy. I'm still searching! I'd like something that lights up, that he can hold onto. He loves stimulating toys like that. It's not easy finding toys for special needs babies! I did find these blocks from Haba. They have bells and different things inside each block. He's not there yet, but maybe will be in time.
I know it's very unlikely, but if you know of any sites that are geared towards special needs kids, please let me know. If not now, sometime in the future I'll be looking for more toys for little Emerson.

Meet Super Lightning!
- Mica was playing outside this weekend.
- He was talking with the neighbor's next door.
- All the sudden he took off inside; he came back out wearing his super hero cape.
- One of the boy's he was talking to said, "Hi Mica."
- Mica said, "My name isn't Mica now. It's Super Hero Lightning!" He was running around like crazy. It really looked like he could take off flying!
- He'll be so stoked when he finds out the Easter Bunny is bringing him and Isaak a mask and wrist guards.
- But...he's already told me that he want's boots to go with his super hero cape. The Easter Bunny isn't that rich or knowledgeable to know where to get orange boots to go with a super hero cape. ;) He'll have to do without those.
