WW: Let Me Take Your Picture {Linky}

Me: "Hey boys let me take your picture."

Me: "Come on just stand there normal."

I always loved Isaak's shirt, which was originally Mica's. I got it from a company called Dogwood. The presidents were in a band. On the back is a list of them.

Shape Logic - A New Game By @ThinkFun

I love games! I actually like tangible games more so than computer games. I just think that many of them push learning, reasoning, skills, strategies.

With video games I find myself zoning out to those. I just play them to take me away from reality.

Think Fun sent me a new game to try called Shape Logic. You can soon get it on Amazon for $19.99. It's the perfect gift for Christmas - if you celebrate that holiday. Otherwise just get it for no reason other than to play it. :)

Shape Logic isn't out in the mass market just yet. I have to admit when I get a game I search how to play it before reading the instructions. I've always been such a visual learner. Lucky for me...their instructions are visual. They have words + pictures.

The game is ages 8 and up. It's perfect for my boys ages 8 and 11.

How to Play:

There is a set of 50 challenges ranging in difficultly
  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Expert
  • Genius

I started out with the Beginner. I could see Isaak in Beginner and Intermediate. Mica would be in Advanced, Expert and Genius.

The box holds everything needed to play. If you decide to, you could use the bag that comes with the game. All the pieces fit inside that too.

This game has no board. Just cards and pieces.

You can see in the picture below there's 2 sides. You find those pieces, and try to match the position on each side.

Challenge 2:

It looks easy enough. That's because I was on the Beginner deck. I'm a beginner + I was fighting daylight to take photos.

You can watch the puzzles get more challenging:

If you're a visual person like me I created a video to show you how to play.

I love Think Fun games just because they make one think.

I sometimes like multiplayer games, but there are other times where I find myself saying to Isaak, "Go do something!" This is something he can do on his own.

This is a STEM game:
  • Science
  • Technology
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
These are all topics that we could improve upon. Not only does this game help to be better at STEM, puzzles and games like these reduce the risk of Dementia related illnesses in the future. I'm going to play the more advanced cards. ;) My Grandma died from having Dementia. I need to do as many puzzle type things as I can.

I love that this game can fit into a classroom setting. We make curriculums for our boys during their winter, spring and summer breaks. I'm going to add Shape Logic to that.

What is your favorite game?

Shrek the Musical @RoseTheaterCo Review

Recently I just did held a giveaway for Shrek the Musical. This weekend my family got a chance to see it.

I thought it was really funny! I loved looking over to see Travis laughing throughout the musical.

All photos without my blog's logo belong to: MTI. MTIShows.com
When we got there the stage was open. I was so happy to see the set design. Isaak in particular was interested in how they got the fog look. I explained what dry ice is. I personally liked the tops of the trees and clouds.

Before the show officially started Shrek (Played By: Robby Stone) got on stage, and started cracking jokes with the audience. It's great when shows can grab the audience's attention before the show begins.

About Shrek the Musical:

Everyone’s favorite ornery ogre is bound to capture my families attention. If you loved Shrek the movie, you'll laugh at Shrek the Musical.

It features lovely damsel-not-so-distressed, Fiona (Played By: Lauren Krupski)

I loved when they had the child Fiona, the teen Fiona, and the adult Fiona all in one scene showing her growing up in the castle.

The “noble steed,” Donkey (Played By: Nik Whitcomb)

This was Travis' favorite character. He's just so full of personality.

The very short and villainous Lord Farquaad (Played By: Brian Guehring)

We had a giggle because Lord Farquaad came out on stage very short. He was on a chair, with his clothing over it.

A powerful dragon (Played By: Sue Gillespie Booton)

The dragon had the best voice in my opinion.

And a cast of classic storybook characters (Too Many to Name)

They challenge Shrek to become an unlikely and reluctant hero. This fractured fairytale farce will leave you with a song in your heart and lots of giggles in your guts!

All the production and artistic credits can be seen on their website. Just some to mention that did a great job are: Director: Fran Sillau, Assistant Director: Joey Galda, Choreographer: Sue Booton and Musical Director: Jerry Brabec.

I love that this is a show for boys and girls to enjoy. The show is best for ages 5 and up. It's 75 minutes long.

The boys certainly enjoyed themselves!

At The Rose Theater:

If you haven't been to The Rose Theater it's amazing! Shrek the Musical is playing there.

Buena Skin Spirulina Body Scrub Review

Anyone that has been reading this blog for awhile knows that if there are skin problems my family is sure to get them. Isaak has had flat warts on his legs for a year and a half. They start out flat, and blister up later on. When they are in their blister state they hurt. His doctor said just to not touch them, and for kids it's best to not burn them off, or apply medicines.

With one single wart I'd apply apple cider vinegar. With flat warts - Isaak usually has 3 or 4 at a time. Besides giving him probiotics I really don't know what to do.

I recently got Buena Skin Spirulina Body Scrub to review. There are a lot of health benefits to the scrub; one of which is to fight off warts.

It came wrapped in plastic to ensure that it wouldn't leak. There was a seal under the lid as well.

Benefits of Skin Spirulina Body Scrub:

  • Other It's 100% natural
  • Free of harmful chemicals
  • Fights acne
  • Good for all skin types
  • Eliminates fine lines and wrinkles (not really a concern of ours, but it does that)
  • Fights harmful bacteria
  • Used to treat warts
It's not tested on animals.

It's a body scrub with lots of benefits.

What Skin Spirulina Body Scrub Has in it:
  • Contains Dead Sea Salts
  • Contains Spirulina
  • Contains Safflower Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Vitamins A, C, E, K, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Manganese
  • Phosphorous
  • Iron
  • Potassium
  • Selenium
  • Calcium
  • Organic Spirulina Powder
  • Green Tea Essential Oil
  • Green Algae
I had Isaak use it. I helped him. He's never used a scrub before. Of course at first he thought it felt like rubbing sand into his skin, but when it was rinsed off he said, "This is great Mom!" I'm watching for any rash to occur. If that happens we'll stop using it. So far we're ok though.

It's too early to tell if it will help with his wart problem. I can say that it's not going to hurt it. If anything it will help with his dry skin.

Cost:

$19.95 and on sale for $14.49. Prime is included. There is 12 ounces in the container.

Quilted Waterproof Cargo Liner Cover For a SUV

Once upon a time, not so long ago I went to put something in the backend of our Outback, and realized that there was specks of Styrofoam all over it. Even our shop vac didn't want to put up the pieces of Styrofoam in the fibers. It took a ton of time to vacuum that mess up. I decided then and there that I needed something to cover that backend for when Travis transports sculpture things.

Thankfully I got a Quilted Waterproof Cargo Liner Cover For a SUV to review. It's made by: INNX.

What if can be used for:
  • Pets
  • Camping
  • Gardening - supplies and plants
  • Hauling - things like sculpture or furniture
Size:
  • 41" Width
  • 52" Length
  • 17.7" Height

Color: It only comes in black.

Since my husband work with all kinds of materials: Styrofoam, wax, and all kinds of metals it's important to me to protect our vehicle.

It came in a small box, and unfolded easily. It's pretty easy to install. It would have been easier to install if there was one visual instruction guide. It's left for the buyer to figure out.

There are straps that adjust, and fit over the back seats. Then velcro fits on the sides of the SUV. We haven't installed the velcro just yet. This is going to be a Christmas gift to Travis. Merry Christmas Travis. He also wants to wait to install the velcro when he goes to KC to deliver a sculpture to their foundry, or pick one up.

The velcro is pretty easy to put in place. It has a strip that needs to be removed to put it in.

I love that it has a big pocket for anything you need. I imagine for us tools, tent steaks, or a flashlight will fit in this pocket.

The material seems really durable. It's totally meant to last.

Cost wise it's not too expensive. It was originally $79.99, and is now $59.99. Buy it before the price changes. Considering that it helps take care of the value of the SUV, I'm ok with the price.

Do you haul very many things in your vehicle?

Eco-Dental Floss Review

I'm always on the hunt for dental floss. We have one just about everywhere. When I need it, it seems I can never find it. I recently got Eco-Dental Floss in Mint flavor to review.

It's made by woobamboo. This isn't the first product I've gotten from them. I assure you it won't be the last. I love their products!

The only problem I had with this floss was getting it threaded back out where I could use it. It was stuck inside. I was afraid I'd rip the whole package apart to get to it. Thankfully I didn't.

With floss I have a few teeth that are close together. Not all floss works on them. This one worked perfectly.

The flavor: The Minty flavor made my mouth feel so fresh.

About Eco-Dental Floss:

It's made with natural, biodegradable silk. I love that it breaks down in the landfill.

It's coated with a natural wax.

The packaging is made with a plant-based plastic, so it too will break down.

They use soy based ink.

It's dentist approved, and mother nature recommended.

It's $5.95, and on Amazon Prime, so shipping is free if you are a member.

It's Mine:

Most of the time I share with my family, but this Eco-Dental Floss is staying with me at work.
