Women’s Vintage Style Thick Warm #Socks Review

I love socks! A new pair feels a lot like sleeping in new sheets in a bed.

Macochoi Women’s Vintage Style Wool Cashmere Thick Warm Socks have cool patterns and colors on them!

We have this story called Socks for Christmas that is about a kid that was so poor that he only got things like socks and shoes for Christmas. It’s a beautiful story that makes you appreciate all you have. Ever since I got this book, I get the boys and I a new pair of socks for Christmas.

Five Pairs:

Blues, Pinks, Purples, Browns and Tans are just some of the colors in these socks. They have fun patters, where you can mix match the socks, or wear them as their intended pairs. I'm more a wear them as their intended pairs kind of a person, but know there are people out there that hardly match their socks. What about you: Do you match your socks, or wear mixed matched socks?

Mixed Matched:

Matched:

Materials:

Wool and Cashmere

I know they wash up nice because I have another set that I bought prior to getting these to review. The ones I had already are different colored though.

One things for sure, these socks go with a lot of different things in my closet!

You can pick them up on Amazon for $11.99 - that's for all 5 pairs! Get them here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0782ZVX8Q

Do you like socks with designs on them, or do you go with plain socks most of the time?

Thick Performance Athletic Socks Review

Isaak was excited to be a part of a 3 day basketball camp last week! He went to the University of Nebraska for it. My college student nine year old loves basketball!

He had fun except for the last day. Isaak's only been playing for a year, so he got called, "A ball hog" by a few teammates. I told him that he just has to practice looking up, and being aware of his surroundings. I also mentioned, that it was ok to be upset, it's not fun being called something negative. I make it clear that If he felt like crying no one in the car was going to judge him.

We had a much easier time taking him and dropping him off then we originally thought. It ended up that I only needed to be at the Allergy Asthma Clinic for 2 days instead of 3. On that 2nd day I got let out early enough to go get Isaak from camp. Just like Isaak had a crappy time on the 3rd day I did too. I got a ticket for parking in a lot, which was ok to park in. I had to hunt the parking building down to get that waved. I didn't realize the campus was split with a park. Finding the building I needed to go to took me 35 minutes. Mica kept saying, "Calm down Mom!" Ha!

Isaak looked sharp with his new shirt and socks!

Not only was he excited about playing basketball for 3 days straight, he was also happy to try out Thick Performance Athletic Socks: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073WVCR3S

The set comes with black and red socks. It's perfect really because the shorts Isaak loves to wear for basketball are red, and he generally wears a charcoal grey or black for the top.

Each pair came in a separate plastic bag that has a ziplock feature:

I have to be honest I just threw the bags away. My boys each have a sock drawer.

Likes:
  • They are comfortable. In fact the first time Isaak put them on he felt like he wasn't wearing socks on the foot part.
  • Isaak loves that they can be worn for different sports. They have listed that they can be worn for Basketball, Football, Soccer, and Volleyball. Isaak's into Soccer and Basketball.
  • The color and style of the socks we like.
  • Isaak thinks it's cool they have an L for left and R for right. I've never had socks that tell you which sock goes of what foot, but I have seen them. If he likes it, great. I think I'd just like to put my socks on without thinking at all.
Dislikes:
  • The socks seemed to shrink a little bit when washed. The ankles fits too tight.
  • The black pair of socks had some loose strings inside them. They annoyed Isaak.

Cost:

They are $15.99 on sale for $13.99 with Prime Shipping on Amazon. That's a super good deal for athletic socks!

Do you have a favorite brand of socks?

Muddy Paws Floor Protecting Chair Socks

We have hardwood floors throughout most our home, and laminate flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. One thing we struggle with is when the boys drag their chairs from one room to another. We've had felt pads on the bottom of their chairs. They are not very careful with them, and the felt wears off after time.

This is where Muddy Paws come in. They are a brand new product on the market. Muddy Paws are revolutionary protection for hardwood, bamboo, tile, or laminate flooring. They are a furniture sock with a cat paw touch.

The packaging is just as cute as the socks.

4 Muddy Paws come in a single box. When you order them you get 2 boxes sent your way. That equals 8 Muddy Paw floor-protecting chair socks, which covers 2 chairs, or 1 chair and a desk. If you have 4 chairs at a table, you'll need to order another 2 boxes.

Cost: $27.99, but on sale for $17.97. They are more expensive than felt bottoms for chairs, but they stay on, and last longer!

They also can be taken off, and put on a different chair, or table. That's pretty important to me to. My boys are growing up. Next year I'd like to move Isaak up to having a small desk in his room, and clear off Mica's desk to do homework on. They won't have little chairs any longer. Muddy Paws will move to bigger chairs.

They are really easy to put on, and take off. I had each boy put Muddy Paws on their own chair. I just helped by holding the chair upside down.

They are so cute! I do see that I need to move the paw off to the side, so they sit right. I love that there are no more scratches, sound, just smiles when they move their chairs around on the floor.

Muddy Paws are ultra-durable, double-layered fabric. They won't wear holes in them! YAY! They are made with a high-grade acrylic providing ultra-soft sliding cushioning. They are super stretchable, which makes them easy to get on and off.

Break Down of What Muddy Paws are Made of:

  • 65% Acrylic
  • 20% Polyester
  • 10% Elastane
  • 5% Spandex

They are designed in London, and made in China.

They fit snugly around most furniture leg shapes btw 0.75 and 1.50 inch diameter. I love that there's no glue, or sticky stuff needed for Muddy Paws.

There's a few things that Muddy Paws could add:
  • More sizes for thicker chair or table legs.
  • More color options. An orange tabby cat colors would be fun in our house. Some people may prefer chocolate brown, and tan. They are neutral enough as is to go with any decor though.
They are washable and reusable. Knowing my boys I will have to wash them at times. Sometimes drinks are spilled. Wood floors get dirt collected on them easily.

I love the look of cats, but can't have one due to my stupid allergies. If allergies didn't exist I'd have a cat in a heart beat. They are cute, cuddly, can take care of themselves for the most part, and do not bark. Travis loves cats. He grew up with house cats, and farm cats. Travis often sits on his computer, and watches cat videos. If I see him laughing I know that he's watching a cat video. Ha! You don't have to have a cat to love Muddy Paws. I love them.

These would make a great gift for cat lovers.

I could see Muddy Paws just being Chair Socks. I have to say that the paws are really cute though.

The most important thing to me is that my floor is protected now thanks to Muddy Paws.

Wearever Socks by Buster Brown Review

I got chance to review socks by Wearever called Buster Brown. I remember the brand Buster Brown from when I was a kid. They've been around since 1904. That's a long time!

The package came with 3 pairs. I'm so happy because I go through dark socks like crazy with work. I need something to wear that is comfortable.

 About Buster Brown Socks:
  • They have been around since 1904
  • They are 100% Cotton anklets
  • There is no elastic and no syntetics
  • Good for people with diabetes
  • Come in white or black
  • Sizes run from 5-12
  • Price: $8.95
  • The only negative for me is that they are made in China and not in the US
They are super soft. I can see why they've been around for so long!

I've washed them, and they stayed soft. I also use wool dryer balls, which help with all my laundry.

Washing Instructions:
  • Machine wash warm
  • Tumble dry low
  • Non chlorine bleach

Uncommon

Last night I picked out $50 worth of stuff at Uncommon Goods. I won a $50 Gift Certificate through Jumpin Beans. They have great products that are upcycled, artist made and just plain cool! The only downfall is that some of their things are higher priced because of the custom factor.

You would think all shopping would be over. NOPE! I have one nephew that has a birthday on Christmas Eve, my niece had a birthday yesterday and another nephew with a birthday in January. This time of year is spend, spend, spend.

I already took care of my nephew that had a birthday on Christmas Eve. We got him a microscope set at Costco.

My nephew that is in sixth grade is getting this:

He wanted a bonsai tree kit. I found a really good one here. His Mom, my sister is picking up the bonsai scissors. It's kind of odd the kit came with everything, but them. This is the best, affordable kit I could find.

On to Uncommon Goods. My one and only niece in high school wanted this:

I got it for her room. We always celebrate her birthday with her brothers in January. That way it's a little further from Christmas.

That clock wasn't the full $50, so I picked out a few other things.

Socks for me. I just love the mismatched socks they have:

I looked at socks for my nephew Emerson to. They were kind of expensive, he got some socks for Christmas, Aunt Terra says some socks are too tight around the top part and lets face it if they don't work for him online stuff is harder to return. So I refrained from the cuteness of these tube socks:

Instead I finished off my $50 with a book for my Dad. I'll give it to him in March for his birthday.

The book is both funny and true. My Dad always says, "You can tell a lot about your poop." It's gross, but so true. He also has told me, "If your pee is very yellow you need to drink more water!" After I had kids poop and pee are ok to talk about. Heck I had to describe poop to the doctors when each of my kids were in the hospital and weigh each of their pee diapers. Isaak insists I say, "Goodbye" to his poop when it's flushed down. It's just part of being a mom.

EZ Sox Review

Isaak has forgotten how to put socks on since he barely wore socks during the summer time. I've found myself reteaching him how to put them one.

Ez Sox really helps out! They have handles on them. This makes grabbing their socks so easy!

They sent Isaak a pair of their bear socks to try out.

Isaak hasn't totally mastered putting his socks on. He is super close to getting it!

EZ Sox also has socks for adults. I can see this really helping out Grandma Spiehs, who is a post polio survivor. There are also people out there that suffer from arthritis. I would have loved a pair after my c-sections, or when I broke my foot.

Ez Sox encourages imaginative play with their animal socks. Isaak saw that his socks had bears on them and wanted to pretend to be a bear.

Ez Sox has a lot of other animal socks to choose from. If you are not an animal lover, they have solid socks as well.

Right now if you buy a pair of their socks, they will donate socks to Clothes 4 Souls. Every purchase online will help a child out.

From now until November 30 Ez Sox is giving my readers a discount. That means you will get 50% off your order by liking them on Twitter and Facebook.

These socks could make excellent stocking stuffers for Christmas time!!!

Hair Cuts

Isaak's hair is getting closer to looking like this (J Crew model):

Isaak's hair just wasn't thick enough to get there. Now it seems to be thickening up. We got it cut pretty short, only to have it grow more. Both boy's got hair cuts today.

Mica wanted his hair on the shorter end of the spectrum. I like his hair short because his head sweats so bad. He plays so hard in the heat. Mica told the lady he wanted a super hero hair cut. That's what he thinks he got. He also told her that he was handsome for the girls he's going to meet in kindergarten. ;)

Then we went to Kohl's to get new shoes for Mica. He needed tie ones in a bad way. We have to work with him on tying his shoes. I got Mica socks and a few pair of shorts too. Daddy informed me that the boy's socks are too small. They went to go to a bounce house, where they needed socks. Mica's jean shorts were looking pretty tight. Yep he's growing.

I'll put up photo's of the boy's hair cuts soon. Right now they are both taking a nap! ;)
