Unjunk Your Junk Food - A Book Review

I was so excited to review Unjunk Your Junk Food By: Andrea Donsky and Randy Boyer Creators of NaturallySavvy.com with Lisa Tsakos. This book was given to me by Glee Gum.

This book shows healthier alternatives to mainstream snacks.

I love how the book explains why certain choices are not ideal. Then it shares a better choice that satisfies one's craving.

Barnum's Animals Crackers have partially hydrogenated oils, they are looking into other oil options. If you or I are craving animal crackers, Barbara's Snackimals is a much better choice.

This book even gives a history lesson on the product. Animal crackers have been a part of the U.S. cookie history for a long time: they were first imported from England in the late 1800s.

How about a Klonkie Sandwhich? It sounds yummy doesn't it? It contains corn syrup and modified cornstarch. Instead pick up Juilie's Orgainc Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches from the store.

The a thing I crave is peanut butter and chocolate mixture. Reese's anything is my downfall! It contains PGPR, which is made from caster oil. It's often mixed with the soy based emulsifier lecithin. I should be buying Nut Free Sun Cups. They do not contain peanut butter. Instead they are made with sunflower seeds.

This book is great to look at for healthier replacements. Not only does it have info on snacks, it covers drinks as well.

I showed off the book to my sisters during our Mother's Day dinner. One of them had already bought the book. She loves it. My other sister was picking out all her good and bad choices.

This books sounds like it is full of common sense in regard to eating. Too bad the majority of us don't have any when it comes to food, including me.

I would like to read this book, it seems like it has tons of information about food we eat and do not think about what is really in it. I like that is does show you other options that are better choices.
