Sing, Sing a Song Saturday

I started doing what I call Sing, Sing a Song Saturday.  I'm going to post one song on Saturdays that the boys or I like.

The song may be part of a movie, a kid's video or just a song we like. It may or may not include words. I'll try and include why we like it and/or the history of the song/singer.

This week I've been listening to Asa (pronounced Asha).

She's from Lagos, Nigeria. She listened to her father's collection of records from soul to tradtional Nigerian music. Some of her favorites are Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill just to name a some. She fuses pop, r&b, world , funk, soul and reggae.

I really got into listening to her music. I was about to post some of my favorite tunes by her; only to find that she disabled most of her songs for embedding. That mean I can't post many of her songs. I don't really blame her for disabling them. It just stinks because I can't share with you what I listened to. :(

Some of her stuff isn't disabled. :)

She does have a wonderful voice. I am surprised I haven't heard of her before.
