The boys couldn't wait for Mary Poppins to start!
When we walked into the theater we saw that there was a live orchestra in front, and below the stage. The boys saw that their piano player for school was playing in the orchestra.
Isaak had to sit in the front row to watch not only the musical, but the orchestra as well.
The Rose Theater in its self is just a really beautiful building. It's named after a Nebraska icon, Rose Blumkin who opened Nebraska Furniture Mart. The theater is ornate. I love looking at the set designs that they come up with.
Usually during the play or musical's last rehearsal they let me take pictures. I snapped a few, then was told not to. I didn't realize it was a no no to take my own photos. I got such good image shots from The Christmas Story and Tarzan.
I put my camera away, and enjoyed the show. It was wonderful!
Mary Poppins was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I even sang Let's Go Fly a Kite in music class when I was little. Everyone at The Rose Theater did a great job bringing the story to life!
Featuring the irresistible story and unforgettable songs from one of the most popular Disney films of all time, plus brand-new breathtaking dance numbers and spectacular stagecraft, Mary Poppins is everything you could ever want in a hit musical for the whole family! Written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, this promises to be an unforgettable time at The Rose. Get swept up in the fun of this high-flying tale.
It is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

What We Like:
I was wondering if they'd be able to keep the musical magical, since it wasn't on the big screen with camera effects. They most certainly did! They even had a few flying effects.
I liked when the chalk drawing scene had a statue come to life. It was really cool!
I always want to cry whenever I see the lady that feeds the birds.
Burt is Dad's favorite. Mary Poppins is Mica and Isaak's favorite. Mrs. Bank's was my favorite. I liked the Mrs. Banks better than the one in the movie. They all have such wonderful voices!
I love that The Rose Theater uses some of their student's in the production!
Go to Mary Poppins, and after you see that go fly a kite!
Sponsors:
Omaha is really lucky to have sponsors step up to the plate.
I received tickets from The Rose Theater to see Mary Poppins. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

How fun!
I love Mary Poppins, so to see a live production would be awesome!!!!
Jealous!
I like sitting in the front row seats too. For some reason I see better there.
I bet you had a great time! I loved Mary Poppins as a girl, but I bought it on dvd for us to watch last summer and didn't care for it too much as an adult. Mariah got up and left about 20 minutes into the film. Allison watched it all, but I don't think it was high on her list to see again lol
You did have a busy week! We love Mary Poppins and I can't wait for the day that my boys will sit still during a musical like this. Graham would do well, but we have a few more years for Davis I think.
Oh how exciting. Mary Poppins is one of my favorite stories.
What a great show indeed...I love to see the movie, but haven't seen them in broadway..
