Rock N Learn DVD #Giveaway

I'm so lucky to get Rock N Learn Multiplication RAP DVD to review. This is a $19.99 value.

I didn't know what to expect. I've reviewed 2 of their Sight Word DVD's before. They were geared towards younger children. Multiplication RAP DVD is for grades 3 and up. It has catchy tunes that make math fun, and easy to learn math facts.

Mica loves reading, but he's been struggling with math. I learned from his teacher that Mica is not alone. His class just got switched to Common Core this year. I think once he gets it, he'll be fine. Any time you introduce something new to the curriculum, it's going to take a bit of an adjustment. His teacher says that Mica actually does really well with math in the classroom, so it's just a matter of getting it down when it comes to his homework.

Mica starts learning multiplication and cursive soon. I jumped at the chance to have Mica watch Multiplication RAP DVD. It does follow the Common Core State State Standards.

Rock N Learn alone has won over 150 awards. I know their videos are a great way to jump start kids with learning. They are wonderful for homeschooling to. Yes we send our kids to school, but we do a lot of learning in our home as well.

What I wasn't expecting is that Isaak - who is 6, would sit in, and listen to the DVD as well. In fact Isaak got out a piece of paper, and started taking notes. He loves math, and wanted to figure out multiplication. Isaak's only in first grade. I was worried about the DVD confusing him. He's only covered addition and subtraction. When products say a certain age, or grade and up it's usually wise to wait.

It may look like chicken scratch, but he was trying to learn it. He filled the back of his paper with notes to. He seemed so eager to learn. Isaak always love numbers. He isn't as into reading though.

Both my boys loved Rock N Learn Multiplication RAP DVD! It kept them entertained. The raps were catchy, and not annoying. I give it 4 stars out of 4 stars.

Rock N Learn sells many DVDs and CDs for all different ages. Their products go from preschool age to 8th grade. Many of their DVDs for the upper grades are for 5th to 8th grade.

Mica was looking at their other DVD options and said he wants Earth Science. He's really into learning about weather. A stocking stuffer idea. It's great that each kid is into something different.

Win it!

Allons Danser! (Let's Dance!) CD Review

I have reviewed a DVD from Whistlefritz before. They contacted me once again to review a CD. I jumped at the chance. We listen to music a lot. I know when it comes time to take a trip this summer we'll be listening to tunes in the car.

Allons Danser! (Let's Dance!) CD is in French. There are times when I need some background noise at home. That noise keeps my kids occupied. What's really great is that they learn, while they listen!

When I was in school I had a hard time learning Spanish. I think I struggled so much because it was so dry when it was taught to me. Whistlefritz has so many fun language DVDs and CDs that make learning fun!

I was thinking the CD might be cheesy, but it's not at all. It was so it's easy to get in the groove of singing it. My kids recognized La Tête, Les Épaules, which is just like Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, and Le Vieux MacDonald, which is just like Old MacDonald, and more. We all started cracking up with Le Vieux MacDonald. The animal noises were just funny to us.

About the CD:
  • There are 20 tracks.
  • All the songs are in French.
  • Some of the songs are traditional songs with a French twist, while others are new.
  • It's $14.99, which is a great price.
  • It's newly released. It just came out this month!
  • The artists are: Marie-Louise Desage and Didier Prossaird.
Line Up of the Songs:
  1. Quand Je Serai Grand listen
  2. Bonjour Les Amis listen
  3. Un, Deux et Trois listen
  4. Le Vieux MacDonald listen
  5. La Danse des Mains listen
  6. Ma Journée listen
  7. Le Bain listen
  8. L'Heure de Ranger listen
  9. Des Jouets listen
  10. La Barbichette listen
  11. Il Pleut listen
  12. Les Doigts listen
  13. Y'a Pas de Fête Sans Gateau listen
  14. Les Enfants Quand Ils Dansent listen
  15. La Tête, Les Épaules listen
  16. Le Camion de Glace listen
  17. La Grenouille Reinette listen
  18. En Haut, En Bas listen
  19. Les Petits Poissons listen
  20. Au Revoir listen

About Whistlefritz:

A mom started in 2006 to teach her son Spanish. The best time to learn another language is when children are young. Many school do not introduce another language until children are in middle school, or high school. Their main focuses are fun and education. They have free lesson plans that you can download. I think that's so helpful. Just to let you know how helpful they've been, they've won over 50 awards. It's less expensive than other language programs.

Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Prince Review

Oh how I love the CDs that Rockabye Baby! has to offer.

They take well known bands and turn their songs into lullabies.

I  was lucky enough to review their latest greatest that comes out tomorrow: Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Prince. You can purchase the CD for $16.98.

We've been long time lovers of Prince. My older sister had one of his cassette tapes back in the day. My husband and I listened to him a lot in our college years as well.

Last night I popped this CD in, while I made dinner. The CD is relaxing, yet familiar. My favorite rendition is Raspberry Beret. You can hear music clips on their website here.

I simply love all the illustrations on Rockabye Baby! They are very consistent with their look.

They even have an apparel line that has onesies, t-shirts for both babies and adults.

There is activities for older kids on the inside of the CD.

They don't have Prince on YouTube yet, but here's a Beatles clip. Again if you want to hear Prince, go here.

A handful of their other albums include:

Check out their blog here. They have a lot of helpful posts. One of their recent posts, is a baby shower game.

They are also on Facebook and Twitter.
